POSTED UNDER Breast Fat Transfer Reviews
The aesthetic result is worse and I have constant pressure and pain

Cannot Recommend Dr. Khouri's Fat Transfer Breast Reconstruction.
This is a very difficult review to give. I am sorry to say that Dr. Khouri's procedure has turned out poorly for me. He said it would likely require three surgeries. It took a total of five in his office and two more afterwards, so seven (and I'd already had two before I came to him, there was no cancer then, it was a prophylactic double mastectomy done by someone he recommended).
He does not disclose the *many* downsides of his procedures, claiming it is easier and less traumatic and safer than breast implants. This simply is not true in my case, anyway. The aesthetic result is also far worse, for me at least. A followup surgeon said he almost had to end my surgery without completion because of what a "complicated situation" had been left in my chest. I still have pressure and pain constantly; it feels as though you are wearing a bra when you are not. I was left with very ugly , disfiguring scars all over both breasts, when I had the option to do a simple lumpectomy, and my reasonably firm breasts are now poorly shaped and scarred all over.
Dr. Khouri convinced me I should do a double mastectomy. I came to him with a simple, small lumpectomy already done, and endured seven grueling surgeries from that point forward and still need one more. He did NOT tell me that had I gone a typical route, I would have discreet scars under the breasts, and would have avoided the many prick marks and uneven fat at donor sites. Instead, using the torture-like Brava device requires long, ugly scars to be in the middle of both breasts; this wasn't clear to me. There was no radiation or any other complication, so there is no need for these ugly scars, my c-section scars by my OBGYN were FAR less obtrusive, as is every other scar on my body. The fat transfer, despite five surgeries and plenty of fat, did not form a smooth and attractive contour. And, in my last conversation with him, he told me to get implants anyway, which was what I was attempting to avoid.
Here is the truly shocking part: My cost out of pocket for this bad experience exceeded $20,000, and my insurance company paid out another $160,000, a total of $180,000 for painful, unattractive results. And, to add horrible insult to injury, without my approval, and in fact with my express written DISAPPROVAL, his office put my photos -- nude photos -- on his website. After several calls and unreturned emails they finally came down, but ALL of the details they had on there (age, condition, number of surgeries, final result) were absolutely false information.
The only circumstances in which I would recommend a friend go to this surgeon would be if they absolutely could not pursue a more traditional path. Perhaps a failed reconstruction or a deeply irradiated patient would benefit from his "cutting edge" approach. A normal case like mine should never have gone this route. My goal was to avoid implants, and after seven surgeries up to that point, I needed them anyway. Please, do your research. I wish I had paid closer attention to the negative reviews of others.
