Breast fat transfer on virgin breasts

Deflated 32A to a perky, organic 32D without implants!

I researched breast implants verus breast fat transfer for a year before deciding on breast fat transfer with the one-and-only Dr. Burns. I determined that I did not want to risk getting breast implant illness (BII) which is VERY common now, and after seeing the before and after photos of Dr. Burns' work from actual patients on Facebook (look up "Explant & Fat Transfer - DALLAS, TX"), I was sold. You can see hundreds of before and after's with women who look so much better now with their own fat in their breasts than they ever did with implants! (Not to mention they are healthier now). I feel so grateful to have discovered this man! Women literally fly in from all over the world to have this procedure done by Dr. John Burns. And now I know why. I went from a deflated 32A to a perky, 32D with NO implants. Burns harvested 100% organic fat from my inner and outer thighs, flanks and lower abs. I have a much better shape, and now I have natural, squishy, jiggly breasts, too. I would choose him again in a heartbeat. It is icing on the cake that he is attentive, kind, and always looks out for his patients first. He will quickly respond to any email questions you have, and is genuinely a good person. Jackpot.

Holding strong to a 32C at 5 mos post-op

Still happy with my results. I was VERY small and didn’t have much of a pocket to insert fat, but still I think I retained about 40-50%. I love my thigh lipo results, which took me down a pant size!

Hi, You mentioned in your photo caption that you lost 10lbs after your breast fat surgery? Would be grateful if you could confirm because I have gained so much weight after 2 breast fat transfer operations in the past 6 months, I really, really would need to lose about 5kg minimum. My doctor has been very evasive on the subject, telling me she can't estimate waht this will do to my breasts. She would advise only 2kg max, but I'm feeling so uncomfortable well beyond my comfort zone weight.

May I ask how you are doing now? Are you still happy with your results?
Did you experience any lumps from the fat transfer? Did you maintain the transferred fat?

I second that last question. I'm wondering how you are ping now? Did you get all the CC's transferred at once? Looking great btw!!

Lost about 70-80% of Fat By Month 5

Versatile9962
Definitely didn’t maintain my fat after a) month 5 and then b) having another baby and breastfeeding a year and a half after surgery. I have 3 visible lumps (pea size) that have been there since month 5. I’m planning on Round 2 (not sure which surgeon yet). My lipo sites are okay and I’m still pleased that I don’t have saddlebags that are as prominent. I have one dent on my right thigh, on the top. I look much better in leggings and jeans and I did before, I just wished I had retained even 10-15% more in my breasts.

You should see Dr. Bednar. He has much better retention rates
December 28, 2021
That's so weird that you just sent this bc I had a phone consultation with him last night! Yes, I've seen and heard good things! I believe them both to be skilled, caring surgeons, but I am a little more interested in Bednar doing round two at this point, just because I'm very nervous about my body retaining from two. I'm not sure why it didn't work with Burns, so I think I'm just going to try something different this time. Thanks for our comment!
January 12, 2022
Oh thats great! Has Dr. Bednar asked you to do any tests to check for the presence of lumps, oil cysts, necrosis, etc in both breasts from the previous fat transfer?

No. I went to him. I lost everything. Lipo is horrible and he did whatever HE wanted and never asked me.

I went to him. Horrible

Update: I did see Dr. Bednar for round two, and now I have a giant lump of fat necrosis in one of my breasts. I only retained about 30% from his transfer. I followed all of his protocols, I eat VERY clean and healthy, I did not really exercise for the first 3 months, I even got vitamin infusions to help with nutrition. I still also have not had any feeling on that side of the breast since the surgery with him, so obviously some sort of nerve was hit. I’m still numb on that side.

Sorry to hear your results were less than desired. Will your surgeon cut you a deal for second round if you use him? Where will you have fat harvested from if you decided to go with BFT again?
January 3, 2022
Hi! Dr. Burns agreed to work with me if I wanted to see him for a second round. He was very nice about it. He would have also harvested from my outer thighs, since I had fat to spare. Lol. But I chose to go with Dr. Bednar in Charlotte instead and my surgery is scheduled for June. I wanted to try him out since I've seen such amazing results on thinner women from him, especially patients who are second rounders and didn't have good retention with other surgeons. His lipo results also appear to be superb from what I've seen on both objective FB pages and his FB page. When I did my phone consult with him, he went into such thorough detail about his method, and I'm confident that he'll do a fine job with what I have left. He's been at it for 30 years, and he doesn't even offer implants anymore, he is so committed to it. That was one of the defining moments where I realized that he was the right surgeon for me.
January 8, 2022
Aww I'm so happy for you! Can't wait to hear to hear about your results. Do you have specific questions you would suggest I ask a surgeon when I'm considering BFT?
January 12, 2022
I would ask him/her how many BFT surgeries they have performed, what their average retention rate is, if he/she offers discounts for a second round, what the post-op protocol is (and compare it to other surgeons who are more strict), and whether or not he/she offers implants. I personally wouldn't go to a surgeon who offers implants because, to me, they should know how harmful they can be to a woman's health. I would also ask if they map out your breast density, whether or not they use tumesclent fluid with lipo, and what their exact procedure is for lipo. If you see any issues with previous patients and lipo outcomes, I would choose another surgeon.

Love these questions!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write them out!
September 30, 2022
Did you do this in June? How were your results?
December 6, 2024
Update: I did see Bednar for round two and also did not retain well, but the worse part is that I have a giant lump of hard fat necrosis in one of my breasts that appeared a year PO, and a smaller one that just appeared. I’m 2 years out now. I also have numbness in that same breast. That didn’t happen with Burns. My retention was only about 30%.

I heard that also. One girl has big problems. I’m terrified now because my MRI shows a bright streaky substance.
September 1, 2022
I was considering Dr Bednar but the bad reviews (there are not too many but enough to spook me- call me a wuss or oversensitive but I have fear issues as it is) turned me off. I just can't take the chance and am still researching other surgeons.
September 30, 2022
So have you had another transfer? I am possibly going to Dr. Burns in the months ahead?
December 6, 2024
I did. Please see my previous comments about going to Dr. Bednar . It wasn’t all sunshine and roses with him, either.
