2nd BFT- 1 month post op

1 month post op

I’m back to work full time at the office now so haven’t had much time to keep a detailed journal. Moving around like a normal person and being able to do everything. I’m careful when lifting anything heavy or do anything that would pull the arm away from chest.

Retention

The breasts have soften up a lot and dropped. No longer sore. Retention’s great! I don’t think I’ve lost much volume besides the swelling.

Lumps

I had a few incidents where my breast were hit or squished. I feel 1 or 2 lumps in my left breast. Hopefully just scar tissue and not the rounds ones that couldn’t be massaged out like the ones Dr. Bednar had to remove.

Donor sites

My thighs are no longer swollen. Inner thighs tender to touch but no super painful. I’ve been rolling and most of the lumps have disappeared.

My abs are still numb and tender compared to my thighs. The dent where the pants cinch around the waist is causing me to swell up whenever I’m sitting down. The spandex sits like a rubber band in the dent. I still have to go back to my phase 1 garment with the lipofoam to decrease the swelling in that area.

After much googling, I think I have hourglass syndrome which caused the dent to form on my lower abs. I tend to suck in my stomach or tensing it up especially sitting. Don’t do it ladies.

Otherwise, Dr Bednar did a fantastic job in my ab area. Nothing deformed, everything even.

Once everything is settled, I plan to enroll in pilates to strengthen my core muscles and hopefully get rid of that dent.

Sutures

I as religiously applied Aquaphor to the suture sites 2-3 times a day until sutures dissolved.

I have 6 total. 2 under breasts and 2 by the groin formed keloids. The 2 on my hips are flat. The suture on my right groin feels tense when I stretch my legs and is more raised than the left one.

Complications

My breast felt super itchy and I thought it was part of the healing process because it was itchy last time too. However those were from the pressure holes. This time it was itchy all over the top of the skin and the breasts were hot. The redness was small at first. Then I noticed them spreading. I read from a Realself where the same thing happened to her and it turned out to be an infection.

I compared my fist BFT itching phase pics to the current BFT and the redness was completely different this time. I reached out to the post op nurse and she prescribed antibiotic, also stating that it could be an infection. The itchiness went away after my first dose and redness started to fade the next couple days.

So if you get redness on your breasts, don’t ignore it!

Diet

Pre op weight 125 lbs

Now: 130 lbs

I started losing weight so I purchased Ensure Complete to boost calorie intake and eat whenever I got hungry and weight went back up. Now that everything has healed and no more shortness of breath, I can lay off on worrying about the calories and go back to normal diet.

I’m still eating fruits everyday and keeping up with recommended protein intake.

Sleep

I still need to take sleep aids or else it’s super uncomfortable because I can only sleep on my back.

Overall, I love my breasts the way they are now. Can’t wait for them to soften up more. I’m not too worried about the lumps yet since the incidents this round were not as traumatic as my first round.

Bra and Garment

I’m still wearing the sports bra 24/7. The firm support really helped minimize the sores and shooting pain. I also think it really helps with the retention.

I switch back and forth between my phase 1 and phase 2 compression because of the dent in my stomach.

I try to use lipofoam whenever I can because it really does make the loose skin in that area smooth and even.

Did the scarring go away?
November 23, 2024
No it’s still there. Just lighter. I haven’t been using silicone scar bandaids.

Thank you so much for such a thorough journey! We are of a similar build and I am interested in getting the procedure done. Can you tell me how many ccs per breast they were able to get during the first fat transfer? The plastic surgeon I went to said I would likely only get 175cc per breast and the results may not be worth it at that point... Thank you!

Hi. My first breast transfer was 580 per breast if I remember correctly. Second time was 530. However I think the first 3 month is extremely important in maximizing the retention. Make sure you eat, get enough protein, keep breast supported, do not put any pressure on them whatsoever, and always keep them supported with a high impact sports bra.

Thank you for sharing your journey! I'm interested in this fat transfer procedure but I'm worried about fat necrosis and cysts. Do you have a lot of them?

I had a few on my first that I should have tried to massage out (after 3 months) before it calcified.

He was able to suck out the fluid on my second Bft. I have lumps from second round too but doing my best to massage it out and use hot compress with oil. Seems to be helping.

Best way to Miminixe lumps is to make sure there’s no trauma to breast during recovery period. My dog hit me a few times in the breasts which caused them.

Your 1 month results look amazing. What does the retention look like as of now??

How come you needed 2 transfers? Did the first not retain?

2nd BFT - day 18-28

Journey2boobs
Day 18
Trauma to left breasts lower bottom left
Painful

Day 19
Pain where there was trauma the other night

Evening a hard painful lump appeared on back of my right ear

Day 20
Dog jumped and hit her paw on my left breast. Painful and turned pink in that area.

Day 21
Left breast feels firm and more lumpy than right
Weight 130.1

Stomach and thighs still tender but I started rolling on them already. Not painful just uncomfortable

I wear stage 1 garmentnt and foam pad to sleeps
Breasts are firmly “jiggling” now

Day 22

At first I thought the lump behind my ear was spider bite. However another hard lump appeared on back of left ear this time. So now 2 lumps. Wondering if they’re swollen lymph nodes All my sutures are here healing. Well I finish all my antibiotics already. I’m still taking vitamins. I’m eating very healthy. This is the first time this is happening. I don’t know what swollen lymph nodes feels like but that’s what I google. I don’t have any signs of infection, not sick. I don’t have strep throat, I sent an email to the postop nurse to ask if this is something that’s a normal. I might go get it checked out at the doctors.

I do have shortness of breath all day today

Day 23
I breasts were so itchy last night. It was difficult to sleep. I find that wearing phase 1 garment with the foam pads work best for keeping everything contained.
Stomach still tender. Thighs are still sore but getting better. Sutures have almost dissolved. Breasts are much softer and jiggling. I actually have to hold them sometimes to keep them from bouncing.

Wore Leonisa garment today because spanx and Marena need to be washed. Still not working out for my stomach area. My Marena needs to be washed.

Shortness of breath the last 3 days. Not sure if it’s side effect of my other meds that I’m taking for something else.

Not being able to work out is making my butt deflate. They losing their perkiness.

Walking with the garment in this heat makes me easily tired causing shrotness of breath. I tried doing some leg stretches but the sutures near my groin felt tight as if they’re being pulled apart. I’ll let them heal some more.

Day 24
This is now a rash
Sent concerns to nurse

Day 25
Smacked my right breast with sports bra
Aching on left breast near cleavage

Nurse suspects infection and prescribed antibiotic.

Day 26
Took first dose of antibiotic.
Rash still there but no longer itchy.
Both breasts super sore this morning.

Day 27
Breasts less sore
Rash is fading
Dog accidentally slammed into my right breast

Day 28
Sitting down working is what’s causing my ab swelling to go back up becsuse of the spandex cinching into the stomach dent.

2nd BFT - day 17 post op

Journey2boobs
Before I go into my day…

My left boob is obviously bigger than my right. I know they are sisters but it happened last BFT too. I read online that most women left breasts are larger than right, up to 20%. Anyone here encountering same thing?

I woke up around 1am because the Marena felt tight, but it did a great job shaping my stomach. It looked flat! I changed into my leonisa garment with suspenders for comfort and went back to sleep.

I also wore to work today . It worked well except the high waisted pants had a band that added more pressure to my stomach, which increased swelling again.

Once home I change into Marena and walked my dog. It actually felt comfortable. I’m getting used to it.

It hurts every time I bend my knees from the swelling on my thighs and knees. No more bruises.

I don’t feel itchy anymore. Sutures are slowly forming scabs and coming off. Still apply aquaphor 2-3 times a day.

Since post op I’ve never once applied Arnica gel on my breasts but bruises have faded.

I wish whatever liquid Dr. Bedbar mixed with the fat cells would just stay permanently in there. I LOVE the size, softeness, and firmness they are now.
Breakfast
Ensure original
Oatmeal same ingredients

Lunch
Chipotle rice bowl with chicken and pretty much everything except cheese
