Falling in love with my new self

It's day 7 and Im noticing less swelling but the pain is shifting. Both breasts are feeling the sharp twinge every now and then. The pain medicine is a huge help and makes it extremely manageable but the right breast pain is always noticeable. It's worse with the pain med's though.
They haven't settled yet, so I'm just trying to enjoy the 80's [RS bleep] style look ????. Yesterday I finally took off the bra and tried on some of my summer clothes so i could finally see what I have been dreaming of. It was amazing!!!! The pics attached are only 2 but it was crazy fun. I did find out that some of the tops that I really loved no longer look good because they only looked great when I was a smaller cup. ... oh well I'll survive. ????
I'm still not at the point where I can sleep flat on my back. Last night I thought I would be able to but when I woke up this morning both breasts were in so much pain that I couldn't even get up I had to sit there for about 10 mins and hold onto them when I finally did move. I'm not sure what the solution is for that but until they stop hurting and have a little bit less swelling I'm going to be sleeping upright.

Never had young perky breasts, so it's now time at age 47

My recovery is a combination of the minor pain and discomfort, to shock of the size of my new breasts. Honestly, I can't stop looking at them and trying to wrap my head around whats going on in my chest area. I was warned about the swelling, but wow! It truly makes me giggle wondering how much further they will settle and what they will look like in a couple of months.
I've always had saggy breasts, even as a heavy teenager, so to look at these large round objects on my chest just seems unreal.
But let me say, Dr. Maguire is incredible! I went to him because he has a reputation for being a perfectionist, and for someone (me) who was struggling to know exactly what I wanted, I needed to have faith i was in the best hands. There are so many in Louisville to choose from and it's hard to know who to choose. After one conversation with him, I knew he was the one.
I've seen several other plastic surgeons in Louisville and liked all of them. What made me choose Dr. Maguire hands down...was his perfectionist reputation. From the get go, he was honest and trustworthy. He takes his time during surgery, and makes certain they are perfect and lined up properly.
As for the after care and pain, I think it's been better than many stories I've read on here. I had 375 cc's, under the muscle, and the initial pain was typical. One of the problems is that I can't sit still and have to move around...and you're not supposed to be active at all. No exercise for 6 weeks, ugh... Sleep upright 3 to 4 nights after (or a little longer), thought that would be impossible, but I found out the first night that it was the ONLY way I wouldn't feel pain while sleeping. When I slid down in the bed, my chest was in agony from being on my back. So sleeping on my back hasn't been the worst thing. Surgery was on a Friday, and I moved around and tried to be normal that day... (not smart), then rested in my bathrobe all day Saturday and didn't move at all. By Sunday (day 3), it was sunny and beautiful and I couldn't take it so I called my friend (watcher) and we took a slow nice walk. I didn't move my arms much and took it slow so I wouldn't rip any stitches. Ironically later that day (day 3), I started feeling a sharp pain in my right breast. At first it was the nipple, then it moved around to the bottom and side. Every time I move it feels like a hot knife cutting into me... OUCH! Called Dr. Maquire the following morning and since that was my post op visit day he advised to continue pain prescription and we would discuss at the appointment. Still feeling that sharp pain when I arrived, and he explained that this was normal and to not worry. So...I won't.
It's now 5 days post surgery. I'm back at work after 4 days off, and i'm still swollen (knew that I would be), and the sharp nerve pain has continued, but not the right breast has decided to join the hot knife in the nipple pain party. It hurts...big time, but not enough that I can't work and still be productive (no exercise or going crazy, just working). Every now and then when the pain stabs I grab my breast and want to cry...but its normal and will all be over soon... I hope.
