Do Not Waste Your Time and Money
When I was researching in advance of my surgery, one of the things I was thinking was that I did not want to travel. So I researched the local plastic surgeons and after a few consults decided on Dr Wigod. I ignored a few red flags in my consult with him, like how he does not spend much time with you and mostly leaves conversations to his nursing staff. Another red flag was that I asked him about sub facial placement and he didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and that he only does under the muscle but I figured ok, that’s what he has experience with. Another red flag was that he didn’t ask me to show him any inspo pictures, and just showed me a chart with ccs and asked what size I wanted. How am I supposed to know the pros and cons and risks of size? We did rice sizers with his nurse but he didn’t consider any other method of consulting or advising on the size.
He told me I didn’t need a lift and that placement under the muscle would sufficiently fill the volume I lost from breastfeeding children.
I went ahead and booked because he was what I thought was the best option of the very few, and he has many years of experience which I thought that must count for something. I didn’t think the quote was unreasonable for a BA no lift, but it wasn’t cheap either. I scheduled for a few months later, at his on site facility.
The surgery and recovery itself went fine, aside from not being prescribed muscle relaxers which would have relieved a lot of the back pain I had for my sleeping on the back and elevated.
What went wrong was a few months after, once the implants dropped. I noticed there was a lot of wrinkling under my breast and every day, my boobs felt saggier and saggier. To the point where now 6 months later, it’s physically uncomfortable to not wear a bra. After a lot of research I believe and have been told byany other surgeons in revision consults that mine have bottomed out, they are extra saggy and uncomfortable.
I thought, fine, I will ask him at my 6 month follow up. This is where it all got worse. During the appointment, when I asked about the rippling I felt under my breast, Dr Wigod proceeded to “show me” what an implant looks like. Maybe he was trying to teach, but the way it came off was extremely condescending and he treated me as if I was stupid. I then asked about the sagging, and he said “well that is what happens when you put rocks in socks. They’re not gonna fall out onto your sneakers.” Rocks in socks?! I was stunned and didn’t know how to respond in the moment. That’s not what anyone wants to look like! He offered no solutions, he didn’t acknowledge that they’re not the outcome that I was looking for (or frankly any regular woman).
Long story short, don’t do what I did and waste your time or money here. I have done hours and hours of research and consults now, and I don’t believe that there is anyone in the treasure valley who is talented or that I trust enough that I will go to, and I will be traveling out of state to go to a well regarded and actually knows what they are doing to fix this mess.
