4 weeks post-op

All the swelling is gone and they feel a lot more comfortable movement-wise. They are also MUCH softer. I started doing my displacement exercises last week to prevent contracture as well as stretching the pocket to make the implants softer and have a more natural movement. The scar is a bit purple at the moment and will apparently peak in color at month three. I started using palmers scar oil recommended by Dr. Kolker, as well as scar patches.

So far so good! Happier everyday.

8 days post op

I had my one week follow up appointment yesterday. Dr. Kolker took off my dressings and said everything looks normal and great. They said to continue taking it easy this week by keeping my heart rate less than 100 to minimize the risk of bleeding. I can lift my arms anti-gravity but no heavy lifting and still avoid using my pec muscles. I have no pain at all except for a tiny bit of tenderness at the incisions. They went over some displacement prevention exercises to start the following week and said I could start using scar creams and silicone bandages at that time. It’s a very thin scar with raised skin I think from the sutures inside? Apparently the scar will continue to redden and peak at three months so though it’s not bad now it will get worse . Also, of note: wearing a much more supportive bra by shefit recommended by one of the nurses. I’m to wear this for 6 weeks to support the breasts and prevent sagging or implant displacement. I’m so happy with the way my implants look and are now feeling now that the swelling has gone done significantly and they are starting to drop. It’s amazing the difference a day or two can make and how they’ll continue to improve with time.

6 days post op

Six days post surgery. Much of the swelling has subsided and I have no pain or pressure at all. I can see the implant has dropped from being so high right after surgery. Excited to see what they say at my first appointment tomorrow regarding increasing activity level.
