Could Not Recommend Dr. Kolker and Staff More! I Had a Great Experience.

I had started considering a breast augmentation about a year ago and started seriously looking for surgeons in the NYC area about six months ago. I’m so happy to have discovered Adam Kolker. At the time I made the decision to get a consultation I was working out of state six days a week. The staff at Dr. Kolker’s office were extremely accommodating to this and made it as smooth as process as possible.
During the in-person sizing appointment I felt Dr. Kolker was meticulous and felt comfortable with his recommendations given my body size and narrow chest proportions. Pre-op I was a 34B still having gaping at the top of molded bra cups. My goal was to have natural-looking C cups, or at least an increase in about a cup size from my current measurements. He recommended between 200-250 cc (at maximum) round high profile implants. Seeing his extensive before and after gallery of natural-looking results made me confident in my decision to go with his practice. Katta, the nurse, was amazing. She was always in contact regarding my frequent questions and was there the day of the procedure which was nice for continuity of care.
The day of the surgery was seamless. I arrived at the office at 7:30 am, was in surgery by 8 a.m. prior to this I saw Dr. Kolker again for more pictures and surgical markings. He re-verified my goals for augmentation that we had discussed at the sizing appointment. The anesthesiologist was also very easy going and nice. As a nurse, I can verify they explained everything in detail yet in a way that a non-medical person can easily understand. I felt that I was in good hands in every step of the process. So far post-op has been a breeze. I just feel sore but not necessarily in pain. Can’t wait for my post-op appointment next week!
Stats pre-op
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 121-124 lb
Bust: 33 inches
Bra: 34B
Implants received: 240cc silicone, round, high profile

Six days post surgery. Much of the swelling has subsided and I have no pain or pressure at all. I can see the implant has dropped from being so high right after surgery. Excited to see what they say at my first appointment tomorrow regarding increasing activity level.

I had my one week follow up appointment yesterday. Dr. Kolker took off my dressings and said everything looks normal and great. They said to continue taking it easy this week by keeping my heart rate less than 100 to minimize the risk of bleeding. I can lift my arms anti-gravity but no heavy lifting and still avoid using my pec muscles. I have no pain at all except for a tiny bit of tenderness at the incisions. They went over some displacement prevention exercises to start the following week and said I could start using scar creams and silicone bandages at that time. It’s a very thin scar with raised skin I think from the sutures inside? Apparently the scar will continue to redden and peak at three months so though it’s not bad now it will get worse . Also, of note: wearing a much more supportive bra by shefit recommended by one of the nurses. I’m to wear this for 6 weeks to support the breasts and prevent sagging or implant displacement. I’m so happy with the way my implants look and are now feeling now that the swelling has gone done significantly and they are starting to drop. It’s amazing the difference a day or two can make and how they’ll continue to improve with time.
