3.5 week update
I’m doing a lot better now. Majority of my back pain is gone! Sleeping on my side is now 100% uncomfortable. The concern I had about the raised middle has yet to go away. I’m still not able to raise my arm straight up comfortably - which kind of concerns me. I can raise it above shoulder height but not for long. Enough to wash my hair and tie my hair up but it gets tiring after a minute or so. When I raise it up, I can feel a stretch/tightening under my armpits... not sure if that’s good or bad. I am still wearing the breast band. I asked them how long do I have to wear it for and they said until my boobs drop... but to be honest i don’t even know how or what that looks like. Oh and my boobs are SUPER itchy. I’ve been trying my best to not scratch them.
1 week post op
It’s still pretty swollen. I am slightly concerned about how the middle is slightly raised. I’m hoping it’ll settle when my boobs “drop & fluff”. I’m praying for a speedy recovery and amazing results. I am currently still battling my back pain. It’s becoming so unbearable that I don’t know what to do anymore. I can’t wait to be able to get a massage and actually stretch my arms/back.

Preop to Day 5 After Surgery
Pre-op appt - The staff here are super duper nice and knowledgeable. Dr. Newen was really nice as well. I learned that he bases all of his work on scientific facts. He is very confident in what he does - which is really good. And he is very detailed - he will explain answers to your questions to the tea. Which is also amazing.
Nancy helped me with my pre-op appointment and choosing the size that I wanted to go with. I chose the 415 Sientre Implants. Moderate plus profile. They let you try on a bra with sample implants to see how they look on you. I recommend bringing in a plain fitted v-neck or tank top to wear over the try-on bras so that you have an idea of what you’re getting.
She also answered a lot of my questions and told me what to expect after my surgery. Like pain and such. Once I was done choosing my size with her, I met Dr. Newen. He took some measurements of my body then sat down and answered any questions I had. He clarified that my boobs were somewhat uneven and that it may not come out even after surgery - which is normal. You’re adding implants under your boobs, not altering it to fix it. There’s more to the why but idr it all. My appointment took approximately 1.5-2 hours total.
On my surgery day - I was the first case of the day. Basically went in, I gave them a urine sample, got undressed, and then they hooked me up to the IV. The anesthesiologist - JT - was super cool and explained everything very well. He made me a bit less nervous. After he gave me some meds, they escorted me to the surgery table & that was where he gave me the anesthesia, which knocked me out like a light. Honestly, the surgery went by so fast. When I woke up, I was like woah. I have boobs! Then the soreness, tightness & pain kicked in. All I wanted to do was sleep but they told me that I needed to focus on deep breathing so I can get the anesthesia out. Honestly, did not feel nauseous from any of the meds at all, which was very surprising to me. I was actually grateful. I’ll be honest though, it was very hard for me to sleep all day. I stayed awake 80% of the day after surgery. My friends were surprised I was texting them when I should’ve been sleeping. I was walking super duper slow and it was super uncomfortable to move or sit up tall.
Day 1-5
-Day 1 was just as uncomfortable as the day of the surgery. I made sure to take my meds on time to avoid pain. I tried to walk around more but I would just get tired after a couple of minutes. I was supposed to go to smorgasburg with everyone but I backed out last minute because my body just wanted sleep. So I slept. I mainly chilled around the house and walked here and there.
-Day 2-3 I was walking more and moving my arms a bit more. Still not able to pull my pants down or up by myself for the restroom. I will say my right arm feels super weak compared to my left. Less range of motion & idk if it’s bc of the way I slept or what. Lots and lots of back aches due to my sleeping position (at an angle on top of pillows). My bf has to give me multiple massages to help alleviate the aches. Which only helps temporarily. I did notice that I can tolerate the pain a bit more but not entirely. I get random “burning sensations” here and there. They said that it’s normal since my tissues are repairing itself. I’ve been avoiding salty food, oily food, seafood & beef. And I’ve been eating lots of fruits and drinking lots of water.
Day 4 - I went to the outlets today with my cousin and boyfriend. I was able to walk and shop, but had to take a lot of rest breaks because of random pain and tiredness. I finally got to shower with the help of my bf. I’ll be honest, I did not like what I see. It looked like cones! But I had to remind myself that my skin is super tight, and that it’s going to take time for my skin to stretch out. My skin was SUPER TIGHT. If you were to touch it, it wouldn’t even make a dent. Positive thoughts.
Day 5 - I had my post op appointment today! The nurse told me that I looked like a size B at the time of the appointment. I was like “WHAT? Is it going to get bigger?” And she reassured me that it will. It still has to stretch out and go through the “drop & fluff” phase. She took pictures, reminded me of what I can and can’t do, and told me that I can go buy a different sports bra to wear. The one that I got post surgery was irritating my skin. Just a tip - DO NOT SCRATCH or your skin will have stretch marks. The bra rubbed on my armpit area and it left a scratch so I’m going to buy cocoa butter to rub in that area. I’m officially off all pain meds. I’m only taking the prescribed antibiotics, arnica, & probiotics. Another tip I recommend is to make sure your posture is always straight or else you’ll start getting back pain. I learned the hard way. Because my skin is so tight, I couldn’t stand up straight without feeling uncomfortable or pain, so my body naturally hunched a bit.
