Welcome to my journey!
Hello everyone. I have been a member of real self for over two years now but I've wanted a BA since forever! Lol. Two days ago I was barely an A cup and now I have real breasts! Yaaay. Lol. I have no idea the size yet because they are so new but I will be documenting my journey with you guys over the next few months as they drop and fluff. I am 27 years old. 5'5 and 155 pounds. Before my BA I had a pear shaped body. 34 inch bust 28 inch waist and 40 inch hips. I've always wanted my bottom to match my top. My girls with that kind of shape know how hard it is to shop for dresses and those cute little matching two piece sets that you have to sneak and switch the top out for a small while keeping the M/L bottom. Lol. Feel free to message me with any questions that you have! I would love to provide support for my girls (and guys) hoping to get a BA done soon. :)
Pre Op, Surgery Day, and Post Op Day 1 & 2
First off I absolutely love Vinings Surgery Center! The facility is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is amazing. Always nice and pleasant like chic fil a. Lol. Also very fast and efficient. I never waited during my appointments. I even came two hours early to my pre op by accident and they worked me in! My consultation/pre op nurse (can't remember her name) was very helpful. Letting my try on as many sizers as I liked and throughly explained all my options to me. Dr. Colgrove has a very cool demeanor. You can tell he's been doing this for a while and he's very knowledgeable. I liked that! I'm a straight to the point person and so is he. I thought I wanted 500 CCs (because they looked good on another girl *rolls eyes at myself* lol) and he quickly advised me that that was not feasible due to how little and tight my breast tissue was. I loved that. I know there are doctors who will give girls whatever they want even if it will damage their body. He is not that doctor! My pre op blood work cost $105. I went to Quick Lab in Marietta, which is what he recommended. Very fast and easy there as well! They take blood for testing and also perform a blood clot test which checks to see how long it takes for your blood to start clotting after a small cut has been made to your inner arm. Simple. My surgery was scheduled for 12 pm on 9/25/2020. The day of they called and said they were running early and asked me to come in at 10 am instead of 10:30. Worked for me!! :) Since you can't eat until the surgery is over, the earlier the better! Rachel was my nurse the day of surgery. She was very nice and professional. Even when I called her Vanessa after waking up in the recovery room. Lol!! I don't even know a Vanessa and there isn't one that works there. This is your brain on drugs y'all lol!! Any who, when I got there I was instructed to change out of my clothes and into the surgery outfit. I locked my things in a locker and gave the key to Rachel. My family (Mom, Aunt, BF) were all there and at this time they are allowed to come back and visit you before the doctor comes in. One person (my mom) is allowed to stay once the Doc comes. Doc comes in and we talk about cleavage (I am deathly afraid of a large space in between my breasts) and he draws the surgery markings on me. I then talk to my anesthesiologist, Patrick, who is really nice as well. I was afraid of waking up during the surgery. He assured me that those chances were very slim. He continued to assure me the ENTIRE time until I was asleep. I mean really the staff is amazing. After the lines are drawn I am taken to the picture room and then to the OR. There is a nice warm bed waiting for me there :) I was hooked to an IV by Patrick and tucked in by Rachel. Patrick gives me a couple breaths of some good ol oxygen and then administers the general anesthesia. It feels warm as it enters my system. Literally 10 seconds later I'm out. The next thing I remember is waking up with Rachel at about 12:30 pm in the recovery room. Surgery was about an hour. My chest is VERY HEAVY. TONS OF PRESSURE. I am over whelmed and I begin to cry. I ask Rachel is this normal she says yes. The general anesthesia messes with your emotions. I am not an emotional girl so I knew it had to be something. Your emotions will be all over the place. Totally normal! My BF drives me home with my mom and aunt in tow and just like that it's over and I'm on the road to recovery. The first day is a little rough as to be expected. I don't feel pain unless I move my arms too fast or turn too quickly but the pressure on my chest is constant. I needed help standing up, using the restroom, and eating. I begin taking Lortab every 4 hours for pain. It helps a lot!! I am in and out of sleep because of the meds so the first day goes very fast. I was starving and my BF brought me steak and a salad. :) Day 2 I take a shower. My BF washes my body and helps me get dressed. You must take off the bra and ace wrap but keep your suture coverings on and not get them wet. Took some team work but we got it done! Please please please pick your post op helper very carefully! They will need to see you naked and do almost everything for you the first few days! Make sure it's someone that really cares for you and your well being. This is CRUCIAL to your recovery. You will cry and be in pain. You want someone who will hold your hand and let you feel all those emotions safely. Not criticize and critique you. On Day 2 I am very STIFF! It actually was worse than day 1. I have to make a conscience effort to keep my shoulders straight as they naturally start to hunch from the tightness. After every Lortab nap I make sure to get up and walk around my apartment. Just pacing from room to room is fine. I will start walking around outside probably around day 4. I have a fruit and veggie smoothie for breakfast, chicken noodle soup for lunch and an ahi tuna salad for dinner. Eating healthy during recovery is CRUCIAL! You want to give your body the energy and nutrients it needs to repair itself. Eat fruits and veggies and drink lots of water. Take immune building vitamins. Back/arm massages and ice packs are my best friend at the moment! I am hoping by day 4 to start weaning my self off of the Lortab. I want to cut down from every 4 hours to every 6 hours and by day 7 be completely off of it. It is 2 am on day 3 as a type this. I am falling asleep from the pain meds. The attached pictures are before , Day 1, and 2. In that order.
