Do Not Recommend for Breast Implants
I do not recommend Dr Gregg Guilfoyle for breast implants. I initially had a bilateral augmentation with Dr Gregg in May of 2020, where I received 350 cc implants. I had an extremely tough recovery with anesthesia which delayed my physical swelling + healing quite a bit. After the prolonged swelling subsided, I noticed a ledge under my left implant, as well as my implants not laying uniformly even.
At my 4 month post op visit, Dr Gregg informed me that my right pocket had indeed stretched/shifted and that a simple follow up revision could fix the pocket. At that time we discussed increasing my implant size, as well as him addressing my concern with the visible ledge under my left breast. (I now realize that many offices allow patients try different size implants on prior to surgery, which was not offered to me, but would have been nice. Perhaps I would not of had to buy a second set of implants to get the size I was happy with.) Due to Dr Gregg relocating to another state very soon, we quickly scheduled my follow up revision to be just a month later.
In October of 2020 I had my revision surgery with Dr Gregg where my implant size was exchanged for 400 cc and the right pocket issue addressed. Immediately following the surgery I noticed that the ledge under my left breast had not at all been addressed, and that now in addition, I had a bulge on the inner side of my left breast that hadn’t been there before. Dr Gregg told me once again that the implants needed time to adjust but that the ledge under my breast was basically just how my existing breast tissue sat on the implant. He explained at THAT time (not prior to surgery) that to correct it he would of had to make a second scar, and he didn’t think I’d want that. I wasn’t convinced, but gave him the benefit and waited a few more months to see if the implants would settle and shift any further.
In February of 2021, after no further adjusting, I saw a new surgeon for a second opinion. He immediately diagnosed asymmetry with a bottom left double bubble with skin draping over my left implant. After another few months of massage that made no change, I am now scheduling a THIRD breast surgery to correct the ledge and to resize my left pocket with a new surgeon.
Dr Gregg had a great bedside manner and was always accessible after both of my surgeries, which I appreciated. However, I unfortunately learned the hard way that those traits did not equate to a great surgeon in my case
In the attached photos you can see the current appearance of my breasts (7 month post my second surgery with Dr Gregg) where the implants still do not sit correctly. In addition to the inner bulge and the ledge under my left breast, the right implant sits more in my armpit than my left.
