Breast Augmentation Journey— I was in good hands
ORIGINAL POST
Breast Augmentation Journey
WORTH IT
I am going to try and make this review as detailed as possible and will try to post an update in 3 months… if I remember.
The procedure I got was breast augmentation with a lift, silicone placed under the muscle, and with an Anchor scar. I am attaching pictures of my before and after along with the recovery house, I stayed at. This review will be divided into different sections so you can skip to any section you like:
***NOTE: pricing is individually tailored, and the information in this review is tailored to me***Section I: CostSection II: Recovery HouseSection III: Procedure and healingSection IV: Doctor, Staff, and HospitalSection V: My Final ThoughtsSECTION I: COSTSBreast Augmentation with lift and Silicone implants for me was $4800 USD (I paid with my credit card, paying with credit card the hospital charges an additional 4% and my bank charged an additional 4%, I paid in total $5192)Recovery home for 11 nights $1109 USDBlood Test 2175 Pesos $109 USD14 DAY COVID Test done free in the U.S.3 DAY COVID Test 3500 Pesos $175 USD1 DAY COVID Test 500 Pesos $25 USDEKG Appt 1400 Pesos $70 USDMedicines Approx 3995 pesos $200 USDI suggest bringing pesos; it makes paying easier and some places out here do not accept USD. I brought 10,000 pesos which is $500 USD, I would recommend bringing at least 14,000 – 19,973 pesos which is about $700 - 1000 USD. I stopped by Walmart and a couple of other stores and currently have about 1997 pesos left which is $100 USD.Remember for toiletry items you are bringing on the flight it cannot be more than 3 ounces.SECTION II: RECOVERY HOUSEI was having trouble getting in touch with Recovery houses, but luckily found NUMI Recovery house and they are great! The recovery house is about 20mins from Innovare hospital and I was told is 15 mins from 2 other hospitals. Yuni speaks English which is fantastic! You get picked up from the airport and dropped off, there are different nurses 24/7, you get 3 meals a day and snacks, driven to pre-op/post-op appointments, garments, and laundry washed, and you can coordinate to have the driver take you to different places near the recovery home if you want to site see.Yuni came with me to all my pre-op appointments which made everything so much easier because she translated everything for me, from what to do, prices, what to expect next. She even talked to the assistants for me whenever they called from the hospital. The recovery house gives you 1 massage a day and you start the crypto machine 3 days after your procedure. I am in the junior suite which is perfect for one person, I have a private bathroom, each room has a TV with Netflix and has WiFi. The nurses also keep track of your medication and when to take them.CON: The small con I have is that when Yuni is not here all the other nurses only speak Spanish, we were able to use Google Translator and get through each conversation, but it's much easier when Yuni is here and I wish there was a long mirror.SECTION III: PROCEDURE & HEALINGI had a breast augmentation with a lift and silicone implants. The day before the procedure I weighed in at 167 pounds and am 5’7. The doctor measured my cup size as a DD during our pre-op visit. We decided on 415 cc’s for my implants. The night before you cannot eat for 8hrs prior to surgery time and the day of I did the final COVID test that gives results in 15mins, filled out a bunch of paperwork, and paid, and then got marked up by Dr. Arenas. I was first given IV’s and then taken into the OR room. I remember laying on the table and then the anesthesia kicked in. Every patient is required to spend one night in the hospital, and you get a personal nurse for 24hrs. When I woke up, I was not in pain, just very sore, as if I just did an intense workout. The worst part for me is sleeping, I have to sleep on my back, but I normally sleep on my stomach, so it’s a bit of discomfort for me.SECTION IV: DOCTOR, STAFF, HOSPITALI’m going to get right into it and say Dr. Arenas is AMAZING! You can tell he cares about each patient and takes his time with them. My pre-op with him was about 1hr or 1.5hrs, he made sure all my questions and concerns were answered. I did not feel rushed and did not feel nervous after talking to him. He takes his patients health very seriously which is why there are so many tests to take and precautions that are done before being approved for surgery. I originally wanted 500 cc’s, but I’m glad we decided on 415 cc’s, my breast are looking great! Even before checking out the hospital from the one-night Dr. Arenas not only checked my vitals but he made sure mentally I was ok and everything looked good before releasing me. It is recommended to stay in Guadalajara 14 days after the date of your procedure. Unfortunately, I could not, but Dr. Arenas re-arranged his schedule so we could have our final post-op visit. The next amazing Dr. was Abraham, the anesthesiologist. When I was getting my IV’s he could tell I was getting nervous, he started talking with me and making jokes with me, it made me feel so much more comfortable and less nervous. He promised he was going to take good care of me, and he did! Once I was in the recovery room Dr. Abraham also came and checked in on me and let me know I did great and everything went well. That is great to have Doctors check up on their patients after their procedures. Personally, it meant so much to me and shows us, patients, they care about us.Liz the assistant to Dr. Arenas is also very sweet. She is the go-to assistant if you have questions, you can WhatsApp her and she gets back to you within 24hrs. She was a sweetheart. The hospital is nice, it was clean, and they were taking all the necessary pre-cautions due to COVID. Every patient must sign in and then their temperature checks are placed next to their names, hand sanitizers everywhere, each needle I seen used was new and then discarded. CON: I have a small con which is that the hospital should hire more bi-lingual speakers, communication would be easier if there were more staff who spoke both English and SpanishSECTION V: FINAL THOUGHTSI would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Arenas! I felt safe with him and his staff and that I was in good hands. If I want anymore work done in the future, I will for sure be coming back to Dr. Arenas. So far, I am extremely happy with my decision and procedure and cannot wait to be completely healed. I cannot send enough thanks to Dr. Arenas, Dr. Abraham, Liz, and the rest of his staff for meeting my expectations and taking such good care of me.
