Breast augmentation - 220cc Motiva mini

220cc Mini Motiva BA

My breast augmentation is today so sharing my journey. I’m tall and slim and wanting very natural results and there aren’t many reviews for the implant size I have chosen! My stats:

173cm / 5’8”
51kg / 112lb
12.25cm BWD
32AA

I’m not that bothered about cleavage and upper fullness, I just want to go to a modest B as a I don’t even fill an A cup. My surgeon recommended the mini motiva which I’m definitely most comfortable with.

In my first consultation I tried on the 205 and 220cc. The 220 felt huge! But having done my research the BWD is an important factor, and wanting to get closer to this to make it look more natural without it feeling too large I’ve settled on the 220cc. I know I could go up to 290 but that’s not for me.

I was a little worried that the BWD being smaller than mine would still be an issue, and over researched. I emailed my surgeon for his view and he felt 205 or 220 would be fine, and is bringing both for me to decide on the day which means I don’t feel rushed or anxious.

I spoke to the anaesthetist last week and that really helped me to feel less anxious, she was lovely and explained the whole procedure and that it’s actually a very short surgery. Also less dangerous than driving which as some who has never had general anaesthesia I found helpful.

I heal quite slowly normally, so many people have said they felt fine very quickly and didn’t need many painkillers which I don’t think will be the case for me.

I’ve bought a wedge pillow, to help with recovery. Tried it out before the surgery and slept awfully! At least I know what I’m in for. I’ve also prepped with hibiscrub and arnica pre surgery, so I’m all ready.

Thank you for sharing, your review is super helpful! How are you doing since having your procedure done?

I expected a lot more pain, but other than some tightness, surprisingly comfortable! I have a knot in my back that’s actually more annoying right now. Will post a full update about the surgery too.

Thank you for posting your review! I'm super interested in following your progress as I'm booked for motiva mini in July. My surgeon will choose either 205cc or 220cc and I'm starting to wonder if 220 is going to be better. I'm 165cm, 56kg and same BWD as you. Hope your recovery goes well! I think I'll post a review too as I'm very happy to see smaller reviews. So helpful!

I agonised over choosing, even though my surgeon reminded me it was literally a tbsp of difference - but it’s such a big decision! I can’t tell you how much research I did - and that’s why I started a review too! From research BWD is just as important as size in the end. When I woke up and they didn’t look scary and that was a huge relief, and I’m convinced I made the right choice!

Surgery day

Surgery day was yesterday, arrived at 12 for a 1pm surgery and all very quick and efficient. I felt so safe with the team - just shows the importance of picking the right surgeon but also their wider team. I wasn’t left on my own for very long, into my attractive gown and paper knickers, saw the nurse, the anaesthetist, the surgeon, and into theatre.

The scariest part was walking into theatre as it suddenly felt so real. They quickly got me all hooked up and out, so that part is over in no time. It’s just like they say, the next thing you know you’re awake and it’s all over.

I woke up extremely groggy and unable to sit up, which is quite natural but I was so out of it I thought that all my muscles had stopped working. They moved me to a recovery room and the grogginess dissipated and I wasn’t in any pain. I was actually so surprised by how much I could move, I thought I’d be more stiff and less mobile.

Fortunately I didn’t have any nausea and had something to eat. I was surprised how thirsty I was, I had to keep asking for more water and they asked if I was diabetic - nope just really dehydrated.

I got a taxi home at about 5pm, from arriving to leaving was only 5 hours, so quick! The evening I was pretty comfortable and surprised at the lack of tiredness.

The worst part has been my back ache! Started in the evening and got worse throughout the night. The anaesthetist said that can actually be caused by tightness from the implants which is good to know, as hoping it means it will improve fairly quickly. I didn’t sleep too well as a result, but still not feeling overly tired. Will post some after pics today!

Day 1

Just resting today, I’m not in pain but I tire easily and am relying on my partner to do most things. I am taking my painkillers, not the max dosage but I can definitely feel when they wear off. My stomach is also not enjoying all the drugs so I’ve had to take a laxative, it’s not too painful but I’m looking very bloated almost pregnant.

My left nipple is only ever so slightly numb, and the right not at all which Is good. My chest feels super tight and I have some air bubbles under the skin on the right one which I’ve read is normal but I’m hoping goes away quickly as it’s an unpleasant sensation. Did anyone else have an almost squelching sound?!

I was able to take a shower so got my first proper look. They are very pointy madonna boobies for now, but I’m really happy with the size! And they are symmetrical for now. The pen is making them look exaggeratedly far apart but I think that will look more natural as it comes off, it’s sharpie so not the easiest to remove!

Overall I’m quite happy so far, and recovering better than expected.

Your breasts will d&f and fill in your cleavage area in time. I think you look great thus far. Thanks for sharing your review. Happy healing.
