I am still devastated and embarrassed

HORRIBLE

I got breast implants from dr romano. He never discussed different implant profiles for me, I didn't even know about them. Instead, he did moderate profile implants -- which all three plastic surgeons I consulted with afterwards said were too wide and too large for my frame. In fact most PS don't even use moderates anymore. Then he overdissected the pocket in every direction. Both implants bottomed out and I had symmastia. I could not even look at myself in the mirror without crying. Prior to this my breasts were small but pretty perky -- I never breastfed but had upper breast fullness loss and pseudoptosis. Now I was 33 with the low flat beasts of a busty 70 year old woman.
It was disgusting. I am still devastated and embarrassed.
I would *never* let him touch me again in a surgery room. I had to pay over $10,000 for capsulorraphy and implant replacement with another doctor. I've been afraid to even post this review as he did not make me feel comfortable discussing what I really wanted, just rushed and as if he had the answers. Well, I trusted him and this is how it ended up. If I could go back, even though my second surgeon has fixed a lot of the damage, I would never EVER have done this.

Thank you for your thoughts :) I am in therapy and working on the negativity it brought into my life. The second plastic surgeon was a wonderful person and has improved so much

Sorry you were unhappy with your results. I def could see the bottoming out in the Q&A to the Dr but the symmastia wasn't obvious from those photos. I hope you post a new review for the revision you had. Love to see your new results! Happy continued healing dear.

Yes! the Q and A pictures were from October 2020 after my June 2020 surgery. Things only got worse until March 2021 when I had my second surgery. I didn't really even know I had symmastia but I definitely did -- my second PS pointed it out and did pinning between my new implants to keep them separated ... I will try to upload some pictures. I forgot to mention I also had rippling at the bottom of the breast was and Dr Romano told me it was "normal" and to be expected... but the implants were completely squeezed out of under my pectorals muscles! Thank you so much for your reply and your thoughts, I really appreciate it :)

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you very much. I know I have responded to other postings and want to reply the same. It is important to educate others that plastic surgery is not perfect. I am always particular about making sure we always agree preoperatively on the surgical procedure and the plan. I always do this with patient consent. If results are not what you like, then I fix it and work this out always with the patient. I always see patients in follow up if they keep their appointments and choose to come in. I know some patients are angry and just prefer to keep posting negative comments. I have invited you many times for follow up. Please come in and let me fix this for you. Dr Romano

Before and after

StarryChairs
On the left is my breasts before getting my recent revision. On the right is my revision — it still had not rounded out but you can compare for yourself. The revision is only getting BETTER and rounder — AND it actually has MORE volume.
Moderate profile implants were the complete WRONG choice for my frame and THREE plastic surgeons told me this! They made me look wider! They were low and flat even without bottoming out. Dr Romano never even TOLD me about implant profiles.

Symmastia

StarryChairs
This picture shows the symmastia. The bra and angle make them *look* a little better but you can see how then aren’t separated. They had no upper pole fullness, my nipples pointed up, wrinkles all between them and on the bottom, fell into my armpits when I laid down. It felt like having heavy sacks falling off my chest.

Yes can you imagine I paid $13,500 for this? Devastated. Pretty sure docs shouldn't put implants that are way too wide for someone's frame into their bodies. Thank god I got a revision. Still healing from my second surgery but looking better every day.

Thank goodness that you are a kind hearted person and did not go off the deep end and get after this doc for a botched job. You are just too nice. I would be outraged!!!! Happy healing my friend. Hugs.

How soon after your first BA did the symmastia happen?
May 3, 2021
Are you sure you are my patient? I have never seen you for such a problem nor have I ever in my career created a synmastia. Hmm? I am clear when and why i would use a particular profile and sorry to hear about your story. Why have i not seen you back in the office? I am always dedicated to correcting anything you are not pleased with. Please call. Dr Romano
