Day 1 Surgery complete!
Day 1 Surgery complete!
The surgery went smooth. I was already exhausted by the lack of sleep from this past week due to high anxiety so I was quite chill going into the surgery room. Dr. Vince Marin took one last sizing and told me that he was going to base the end result off of my wish photos and the maximum my body could handle versus the smaller size I had planned for during the first consultation and sizing. I have a tiny frame: 5’1”, 95lbs with a 32A cup. Never had children nor do I plan to.
I spoke with the anesthesiologist and nurse regarding all my past medical history just to verify everything one last time. I was initially planning to go with the areolar incision but decided against it since my doc told me that recovery takes longer and my nipples are a bit smaller which means there would be a bit more tugging and pulling to get the implant inserted. I ended up going going under the muscle with saline implants. Not sure of the end size yet but I will update later as I’m still quite out of it.
The staff was great and everyone made me feel comfortable. Honestly, this was the most relaxed I felt going to a hospital. I was out before I knew it, woke up groggy with double vision but no nausea. Pain started increasing the more conscious I became so I was given my first dose of Percocet before I left. Intense pressure on my chest like a bag of bricks. Slight discomfort in my back, and as soon I started to stand the nausea came and I was given something to dissolve under the tongue. It helped immediately.
Ever my single bump and jolt in the car sent sharp pains through my body. When I got home, the pain intensity increased from a 5 to an 8 with most of the pain subsiding in my upper back. I vomited twice each time just before I was due another dose of pain meds. I have excruciating pain in my back at a level 9 and have found it very difficult finding the right position for maximum comfort. The pain in my chest has been consistently around a 7 to 8.
The nurse said it was ok to change the from the full dosage every minimum of 4 hours, to half a pill every 2 hours. Hopefully, this will work better but I’m still in a lot of pain. I’ve always had a very low threshold for pain. The nurse told me I would be able to sleep it off, but the pain has been keeping me alert unfortunately. This pain has been torture. I’m hopi fit will subside more tomorrow, but at this point it looks like I will be getting very little sleep tonight. I have been alternating with a warm pack on my back, and a cold pack on my chest every hour for 20 minutes. I just can’t wait for this day to be over already.
I have attached photos I took the morning of the surgery and a couple hours post-op.
Day 2 Post-op
When I awoke this morning, the pain significantly decreased from a level 9 to a 5. Majority of the pain was in my back and was due to the tightness of the wrap. Once I followed up with my Doctor the next day, he told me to increase the pain meds from 1.5 to 2 tablets every 4 hours until the pain subsided. I actually got to sleep today! Yesterday was absolute torture and I was in tears from all the pain and the inability to sleep. I couldn’t get comfortable no matter what and could barely move my body at all. I was told I would sleep through it all but the pain was just too severe. My partner had to lift me to a new position every 30 minutes to an hour.
Once I increased my dose to half a pill of the Percocet, I was finally able to relax and the sleep kicked in. The pain also decreased significantly after removing the wrap and replacing it with the sports bra. My chest was itchy from the wrap and I still have slight irritation so I was instructed to take some Benadryl orally. My poor dogs have been so concerned about me, they haven’t left my side once. I was also instructed to walk around for 10 minutes at a time about every hour or so and I could remove the compression socks. I still lay with my feet and back propped with several pillows. After taking half a pill of Benadryl, I passed out for the rest of the afternoon into the evening. I’ve been eating crackers right before I take the Percocet, but I finally had my first meal of chicken soup with rice in the evening. I had no nausea or vomiting today. Walking has been very slow. So slow that an old lady passed by me with a walker at the hospital. By evening, my pain finally decreased to a level 2. I’m planning to begin weaning myself from the pain meds starting tomorrow. The doctor told my that the girls looks fabulous. I had my first peek at them once I took my first shower. It was nice to remove all the dried up iodine. My poor parter almost passed out when he first saw me bc he thought that I was covered in blood. I’m hoping that tomorrow I’ll be able to eat breakfast. I’ve been taking chocolate laxatives every 2 hours after taking the Percocet, but I have still yet to have a bowel movement. I have very minimal bruising as you can see in the photos. I posted my before and after photos. I’m very happy with the results so far! My chest doesn’t feel as heavy today. I can breathe much better. The doctor fitted me into a medium size sports bra. It’s very tight, but not uncomfortable. I’m looking forward to tomorrow!

Day 3 post-op
I had my second bowl movement at 8:15 pm.
I still have very limited movement and need help getting around as my balance is off. I’ve needed help for the second day showering and undressing to go to the restroom. I had no idea this procedure would be so incredibly inhabilitating. I can’t dress, go to the bathroom, or walk steadily by myself. I no longer have severe back pains, just occasional sharp gasping pains from the incision on my right breast, which makes sense because he had adjust that one a bit lower and fuller to create more balance with the left breast.
I slept most of the day and walked my dogs a bit by tying them to my waist band. Sill not much of an appetite. I eat a few crackers just before taking the pain meds, and then Around dinner I ate a slice of toast with Nutella and strawberries. I fell asleep shortly after that. I’m still pleased with the fullness of my breasts. He gave me exactly what I was opting for: some side boob and a bit of internal cleavage. Sitting up from lying down is still quite painful and requires additional help with a hand directly behind my back. I still sleep with my feet elevated and surprisingly haven’t had trouble trying to move to my side as I’m a side and stomach sleeper.
I am posting day 3 post-op photos.
