I’m starting my review a tad late! But I have already had my consultation and pre-op appointment at Vinings Surgery Center in Atlanta, Ga. My surgery is on Tuesday, April 3rd at 11am. I am 5’ 11 and 165 lbs. i am hoping for 650/675cc Ideal implant under the muscle! Dr. Colgrove told me that to have the best results, the cc number might fluctuate depending on what works the best when they go in there and see what fits. So far so good, I was able to book my surgery relatively quick and all of my questions were answered thoroughly.

The surgery itself was a breeze because I was knocked out lol. But everyone is nice and the process is very easy. I wish you the best and a smooth recovery!

Tuesday April 3rd is my surgery. Right now I am preparing with a simple spread sheet to keep track of my meds on. I have purchased another post op bra from Walmart (Danskin Now) that was under $20 and was very sturdy! Also, I ordered a wedge pillow from Amazon so hopefully it was be good for keeping me raised at night on my back because I am normally a side sleeper. My care team (mom and boyfriend) are ready to go!

Today was my surgery. It went very well and smoothly. The whole team at VSC took such great care of me and calmed my fears about going under. I really appreciated how they answered all my silly questions and made me feel calm. I got to the center around 9, even though I didn’t need to be there till 10, just in case. I called them and let them know and they were so kind to let me come in early, get me situated and ready for surgery. I went back to the surgery room around 11 after Dr.Colgrove came in and talked to me about what was going to happen.

I went right to sleep when they gave me my IV and woke up after it was finished. I woke up extremely cold and the sweet nurse made sure to get my socks and clothes back on me to warm me up. I then work on opening my eyes and waking up after what felt like the greatest nap. I didn’t feel any pain, just tightness on my chest. My mom then drives me home and gets me in bed and I take medicine and eat soup and relax for a few hours while icing.

Don’t forget to ice!!! This honestly has helped so much. It makes my chest feel so much better so do not skip it if your doctor recommends it. (1 on, 1off)

It’s now 11pm at night and I’ve stayed on top of my sleeping meds but the pain is starting to hit me. It’s going to be a long night ahead but it’ll be worth it.

Also, I know this is a long post but I’ve found that a wedge pillow works so much better when having to sleep propped up on your back at night. The pillows kept moving out of place, so the wedge is doing great.

Attached is a before photo, and the photo I have of “after” so far. I go back on Thursday and will have my credit bandage removed so I haven’t really gotten a good look at the new boobies yet.

Congrats!!! I would advise getting a neck pillow. Especially if you're going to be sleeping on your back. And yes ice ice ice ice. Matter of fact I my need to ice now lol...Wishing you a smooth recovery and stay on top of your meds to reduce any pain. The tightness really can't be stopped but at least the pain can. I had no pain just tightness.
