-Before the Surgery
I first found Girin while researching plastic surgery clinics in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea on beauty forums and social media. I spent quite a bit of time looking through reviews and before-and-after photos, and Girin stood out to me because I really liked the results and the transparency on pricing + surgical procedures on their website. There was also added assurance knowing they have a dedicated team for foreign patients.
I really liked was how smooth the communication was, even from the initial enquiry on WhatsApp. The clinic is open everyday including Sundays and the team is very responsive! The English interpretation service made it easy for me to communicate my concerns and understand the surgery procedures. The staff were also very friendly and supportive throughout the process, which helped me feel less nervous.
Overall, I felt that Girin had a good balance of experience, safety, communication and reasonable pricing, so I felt comfortable choosing the clinic for my surgery.
-Deciding on Surgery
I decided to get breast augmentation surgery because it was something I had been considering for a while. I wanted to balance out my wide shoulders and feel more feminine about myself.
After the consultation, I felt quite confident about proceeding. Even though at first I was concerned about the size the doctor suggested, the team reassured that the measurements and recommendations were fit exactly for my body type. I'm glad I listened because I'm extremely happy with my results now!
-Recovery
I’m now 7 days post-surgery, and so far my recovery has been going quite well. The first few days were definitely the most uncomfortable, but mostly because I was not used to sleeping on my back. I was able to go for walks by Day 2 post op so I would say it was a pretty good first week recovery!
I know that I still have a long way to go before seeing the final result, but I’m happy with how things are progressing so far and I'm glad the team is always a text away if I ever had concerns.
I didn’t experience any major complications through my first week, at most when I needed to change my dressing the first time. Since I was unsure about how the wound would be like, I was a bit concerned about changing it myself. But as always, the team was very responsive and helpful and let me know I can come to the clinic to get it changed the first time. When I realised it was quite simple, I changed it myself regularly afterwards.
-Overall Experience
Overall, I’m happy with my experience at Girin so far. It’s still early in my recovery, but I’m glad I chose this clinic and Dr Song for my surgery. I’m looking forward to seeing how the results develop over the next few weeks and months!
