Hello ladies (and gentlemen if you are reading). I wanted to make a more in depth review to getting implants because some of the experiences on real self lack details that I wanted to know. I lost 80 pounds and I was in desperate need of help upstairs which you can see from my before pictures. I used to have relatively big [RS bleep] before but when you lose weight like I did that all goes away.
1) If you want a breast augmentation after losing weight and your nipple has transitioned below your fold line you will more than likely need a breast lift too if you want your nipples in the right location. I didn’t expect to have to get a lift before I went in and when I was told that it was necessary I was a little bummed out. Nipple placement, for me, was a big factor in going forward with the augmentation because if you want your nipples higher then you may have to have another type of lift.
2) Finding the right doctor can be very misleading and I don’t exactly have the best answer for this. I chose to go with Dr. Colgrove in Atlanta based on a few factors. Always choose a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure you know more about the doctor than you do about yourself before you choose. Price is not something that should compromise this and I highly recommend saving your money for the right surgeon regardless of price. Lifts are double the price of a normal augmentation so if you need a lift that’s going to hurt the bank a lot more. If you have time to wait until the right time of the year a lot of surgeons will offer discounted prices during different seasonal intervals.
3) Although the sadness that my [RS bleep] had become, it wasn’t my only driving reason for wanting fake ones. Some girls want the natural look and that’s fine but I don’t see a reason for having fake [RS bleep] unless it looks like them. That being said my vote is as big as they can be. With that being said, there are limitations to how big you can go and these are those. The market only sells up to 800cc’s in most types of implants unless they are special ordered from outside the country. However the doctor you see is more than likely going to tell you that you can’t even fit that much inside your pockets (the space he will create in surgery that will keep the implants in place). The size of your bra line (circumference around your rib cage) will determine what type of restrictions your body size will have on how big your implants will be. Also the elasticity of your skin will play a factor in this selection as well.
My advice GO AS BIG AS YOU CAN
4) Do exactly as the doctor says, EXACTLY. Don’t miss a beat with ice packs, drains, medicine, physical exertion, or playing with them too soon. You will have to put new bandages and keep your areas clean from sweat and debris but this requires a helper and some extreme caution. ITS GOING TO HURT. Some people say that a few days later they were running around like nothing happened and if there were and data to show the relation between people who gained too much confidence too early and started venturing past the doctors orders I guarantee you that this would encompass all the horror stories that are floating out there. Pay attention to all the details and requirements pre and post surgery.
5) Don’t get a breast augmentation unless you have health insurance. If you have a complication after not having insurance would be a huge risk for your health.
6) Wish pictures should be chosen without modesty in mind. Give the doctor as many photo quality fully nude pictures and find at least 10 to print that you love. Your doctor has seen more [RS bleep] than you could ever have and he isn’t going to judge you for being honest.
7) Be honest about what you want. If you don’t tell him every detail then you won’t get what you want. I wanted huge [RS bleep] and the doctor will second guess you when you tell him to make sure that you want the size for sure. The sizers that you choose in your consultation will only be a supplemental decision maker second to your wish pictures. Don’t let the size you wanted get changed by their reactions because they aren’t going to be stuck with the outcome.

Wish Pics
After looking at hundreds of breast augmentation pictures these were a few of the wish pics I had printed and given to the doctor.

Surgery Day!
I could not be any more happy with Dr.Colgrove and his staff. Everyone was very sweet and helpful. They made sure that all my questions were answered and that I was completely taken care of. My surgery was at 8:00 am on Friday morning, as soon as we got there one of the nurses brought me back into a room. I changed into a gown and put all of my belongings in a locker. Then the nurse took me back to take some pictures. Within 5 minutes Dr.Colgrove came in and started drawing while going over the procedure one more time. The nurse got a few more pictures after the drawings and then we were in the operating room. Then I wake up to what it felt like had only been a few minutes to the nurse telling me that I was all done and everything went great. There was really no pain, just A LOT of pressure. After getting home I probably slept for a full 2 days I felt like. I was super tired and just having some back pains.
