Dr. Buford performed my breast augmentation in November of 2022. Not long after, both implants had bottomed out and one more severely than the other. I came back in to get it looked at and he had planned to perform a procedure to repair just one of the breasts. I came back before that planned procedure to express concern about my other breast and he stated that I was "overthinking it" and that it was fine. I got a second opinion from another doctor before going through with the repair and ended up canceling as the other doctor told me a few things: 1. The repair he suggested was "archaic" and would be temporary at best. 2. I should have NEVER received the size implants I was given (690cc) as someone who is getting them for the first time AND someone who is very active/plans to maintain that lifestyle. Super bummer is that I ended up getting pregnant before I was able to get the revision completed by another doctor so I am stuck with gigantic boobs until I'm done breastfeeding and able to get a revision by someone who's much more competent.

At no point did Dr. Buford recommend an internal bra which could have avoided this whole issue (I had looser skin on my breasts from years of fluctuating weight). You'd think with his decades of experience he'd know how to give a great augmentation. His response was mainly that "it could happen to any surgeon".

My advice would be to look elsewhere.

Response from Dr. Buford:
Thank you for your feedback. While we are disappointed to hear that you are not happy with your outcome, we appreciate your opinion. To that, bottoming out can happen to the best of surgeons and it does. We fix a good amount of fold failures from some of the best surgeons and so for another surgeon to comment and say that this is incorrect and that the approach is archaic lacks context and doesn't note the skill of the other surgeon who made this comment. Surgery is an art and imperfect at best. Complications can happen in the best of hands but from there, it's all about fixing the complication which we try and do to the best of our ability. We are sorry to hear that your outcome was not satisfactory but wish you the best of luck in someone else's hands. Just make sure that your other surgeon is equally as competent and has the background to actually help you and not just be critical about another surgeon's work. Hope that helps. Thanks for expressing your opinion.
