Wish I'd done it sooner

I went to see Mr Banwell several times before committing to surgery. He decided on the best weight implants for me based on my body shape and weight. We decided to go over the muscle which is less invasive and as I had enough breast tissue already. The staff looked after me very well before during and after my surgery. The recovery was easier than I thought it would be. It's very important to follow all the pre and post op advice they give you. I would say definitely have someone at home with you for the first few days as your quite immobile and it's tricky getting up from a resting backwards position. I would recommend taking a pillow with you for the journey home to go under the seat belt for comfort. And get the recommend surgical bra as you will be wearing this for 2 months post surgery day in day out. I woke up in mine with no bandaging at all. Also buy a V shaped back pillow ! It gives you a lot of support post op and I slept with mine for the first couple of weeks. You can shower but you have to keep your tape dry so drying it with a hide dryer after a shower is essential to keep the scars clean. Make sure you walk about each day afterward to keep the blood flowing. My breasts were high up and big and round and swollen for the first week. After this they very slowly started to soften and fluff. I am now 2 months post op and am able to wear what I like. I would say they felt a little strange to start with but that's why you need to wear the support bra for 8 weeks. I love how my body looks after this procedure and you cannot tell I've had work done as I am I'm proportion. Obviously you can tell a little when I am in underwear or swimwear but my breasts are natural looking just alot more full now and they fit my body so well. I would recommend getting a body cream that helps with stretch marks and a scar cream which you can start to apply after 2nd check up and the tape is off (double check with the nurse first) I use Palmas coco body cream. I still use this daily as it helps with keeping the skin moisturised and I massage my scars daily to make them soft. I can now lay on my front when sleeping and have been to the gym and swimming. The pain post op was minimal and I mostly used one of the prescribed pain killers at night to sleep better. I went from a B to a D and I am 5 foot 7 and 9 stone 10, size 10 to 12. Weight of implant was 320. I would recommend going with Mr Banwells advice on the sizing depending on what look your after. I can honestly say this was a very good decision and worth every penny. I am much more body confident. This surgeon is personally highly recommended based on my experience.
