12 Weeks Post-Op
Hello All! I wanted to hold off for another 6 weeks before posting an update because there wasn't much to touchbase on. Now at 12 weeks post-op, I feel really good! I know in my last update, it seemed like I wasn't satisfied with my implants, but now I am obsessed with them and think they are such a great size, great shape, and great "investment"!
During my 2-month Zoom check-up, the surgeon said everything looked great and that my left breast would continue to drop and catch up to my right. That was 4 weeks ago, and I want to say it's finally caught up. I also let him know that I can't feel the lower parts of my breasts, and some days to this day, that is still the case. Normal. He also said the random aches and pains will last a year, so... Great lol I regret not asking about the popping sutures that I have throughout my incisions - that is a discomfort I deal with daily.. If I run my fingers over them, I can feel the pointiness. In my inexperienced opinion, I feel like my body will not be dissolving these, and they will have to somehow remove it for me once I give in.
My now-fiance thinks they look great and I can't agree more! We celebrated our 3rd year anniversary a couple of weeks ago by going on a hiking trip, got engaged, and- since the incisions are closed and scars are healing, soaked in the hot springs. It was my first time submerging my body in water, and it was such a weird feeling. It isn't that my implants are heavy, but you know when you get into the water, the water kind of takes care of some of your 'weight'? They kind of felt like they were floating, but not like that one scene from Austin Powers LOL. But, at the same time of the floating, the water pressure was pushing them against my body?! Lol! Ever since we got back from our trip, I can't help but tell my fiance that the trip was such a game changer for my boobs. I feel like the hot springs relaxed my chest muscles to allow the implant to drop or something?! The only pain I ever really feel now is when I'm cold and my chest muscles contract around the implants. My advice to anyone considering breast implants is to do them like, towards the end of Winter. That way, you have Spring to heal, you won't get cold, your chest muscles won't contract, and you'll be mobile and ready by Summer. I think one of the rules for recovery is to not let your incisions be exposed to the sun, so just keep that in mind.
As you can see in the photos, there is a collage of bras for the hiking trip. Picture this, a girl at Target, sneakily holding up bras to her chest to see if the cups will fit over her new boobs lol! The top bra is in a 34D. The middle bra is a Large. The bottom bra is in a Medium. The white bra is a pullover, and I nervously sized up, but it fits PERFECTLY. It is SO comfortable, I need to pick up more. Both black bras have clasps in the back. The 34D band fits really well, but the Medium bra's band size is too loose. I think this is because the Medium came with a chart with sister sizes that it should fit (34D/36C, etc.). I have yet to buy real bras.. It's a little hard difficult trying to buy bras without being able to try them on due to Covid, so.. I'm going to wait a little longer and rotate between these 3 new sports bras and my 3 Fruit of the Loom bras I got right after the op.
Also at Target, I confidently picked up a Medium in the rust-colored one-piece swimsuit in the photos. I used to buy Small's and have it fit snug (pre-op), so I wanted to do my boobs and butt a solid, and IT FITS PERFECTLY. I tried it on at home and couldn't take it off. It really sealed the deal for me about the surgery. To be able to confidently grab something and know that it would fit.. It was like a tear-in-my-eye moment and I was so proudly strutting around the house in them.
One concern I have now is the red, itchy stretchmarks that are appearing on my outer right breast. They appeared 3 weeks ago and I'm applying Palmer's cocoa butter twice a day. I just really hope they go away, but it IS the outer boob, and since I'm showing more cleavage and not side boob, who cares?!

6 Weeks Post-Op
I am excited to be officially 6 weeks post, however I feel.. Weird. I don't know if I am developing body dysmorphia or if something is actually wrong. To me, my breasts look like they are different sizes and shapes at the moment. My right breast, with the 420CC implant, is BEAUTIFUL. She's round, she's sitting at a nice spot, the nipple looks in the ideal place in my opinion.. However, my left breast, with the 395CC, is causing me some stress. I am left-handed (redundant, I think I already disclosed this last time), so I want to keep giving it more time.. But she's still a little 'vertically rectangular' to me. The nipple is kind of facing downward at the moment, and if I stare hard enough (which- haha, maybe I should stop), the entire breast sits bolted on my chest, and is now the breast that is 1cm higher than the other. If you can recall, my left originally was the lower one! I just don't know if this is a sign of Capsular Contracture or if I'm bottoming out. I think I have a Facetime call with the nurse for a 2 month check up in a few days so I want to bring this up. Is this CC? Am I bottoming out? Was this a botched surgery?
I still can't feel the bottom of my breasts. I was lucky enough to lose some feeling in my nipples so I can't feel the pain as much, but I definitely feel little sparks throughout my breasts- which I am assuming are the nerve endings reconnecting. I also still get very sore and am easily tired after doing something physical, such as putting up Christmas decor!
Incision drama: In my last update at 4 weeks, I had just gone to the surgeon's office for my second 5-FU injection. I said that the nurse was a little heavy-handed. Well, the following day (11/25), both incisions formed sacs of serous fluid. I made sure to take pictures and document it. It was very irritated, but fortunately, not infected. By 11/28, I had taken my sports bra off to shower and realized that the blisters had burst and stained the fabric. I reached out to my care coordinator, however, she was out of town, and didn't get back to me until Monday, 11/30. By then, I had fresh wounds and scabs were forming. The surgeon took a look at my photos I submitted to his messaging app, and decided that it was best if we discontinued the injections because "it looked like my original incisions healed." That kind of had me peeved because the incisions looked REALLY GOOD the morning of the injections, before my appointment, and now I have additional scarring that I need to worry about that they are not owning up to.. Frustrating.
Care: I stopped wearing a bra from 11/28-12/3 to prevent further irritation. I applied Neosporin until the scabs dried and slipped off in the shower. Now I am applying cocoa butter to the entire breast and using Biocorneum on the scars.
Overall, there are days where I look and am so happy I got this procedure done. Other days, I feel like I could have had it in me to go larger - can't imagine the weight and tightness of that though. I know they still have dropping and fluffing to do (hopefully, if it isn't CC).. And I am including a photo of my outfit today - LOVE me some cleavage!

4 Weeks Post-Op
I took mental notes in any changes within these last 2 weeks and I didn't have anything to write home to you about.. Until this past Saturday, just a few days shy of 4 weeks, my implants had begun to finally feel like a part of me. The only time I feel the implants is while bending over to pick up a cat food bowl or something, where the weight of the implants shift a bit, but nothing major!
From weeks 2 to 3, a lot of the pain (8/10) were from anything brushing up against my nipples or if I was nipping - which happened at the most random times. I ditched the pasties because any nipping would peel the adhesive off, adding to the pain. I officially got off Tylenol Extra Strength on Saturday because I wanted to drink wine this weekend, lol. I had been switching from Tylenol to half of a Hydrocodone, and when cleared, Ibuprofen.. However, at the end of the day, medication wasn't worth it for nipple pain. I figured that if I wanted to prevent getting cold and nipping or things brushing up against them, I just needed to bundle up, tightly. This past Sunday, I noticed that the bottom half of my nipples have lost sensation, which works in my favor having had to feel 8/10 pain for the past month. The nurse says it's normal.
During Week 3, I noticed a strawberry mole and some faint red marks on my right breast, which sent me to a panic because I watched a girl's Breast Implant Illness video where she started getting red stretchmarks on her breast. I have been applying cocoa butter twice a day to prevent stretchmarks, so I immediately called my care coordinator and she said that it's normal, but to let her know if it continues to worsen. They went away within a few days, so we're all good there!
I want to be completely honest, but I also want to be rational. I know that we went 395cc in the left and 420 in the right because my left breast sat 1cm lower than my right, so we wanted to make sure that the implants didn't weight down the left breast further. But I notice the difference. I also know that my left breast hasn't quite dropped as much as the right yet (I am left-handed, so it makes sense), but it still bugs me.. My right breast is perfect and round to me, and when looking at pictures, and still seeing my right kind of square bums me out. My boyfriend says it's barely noticeable, but because I'm obsessing over this $6,900 investments, I just wished they would just.. Look even.
My ribs still get super sore. I haven't cooked since pre-op day, 2 weeks ago, chopping onions was hard. This week, while chopping multiple blocks of cheese for my double batch of mac and cheese for Thanksgiving, I felt suuuuper sore in the ribs and upper chest. Driving makes my deltoids and ribs sore. Turning the steering wheel is extra exhausting!
I switched from my front clasp post-op bra to a 3-pack of Fruit of The Loom sports bras. I bought a 36 band to avoid irritating my incisions (glue is still there to this day). My only complaint about them is I wish there was a little more material to cover the girls.. It feels like there isn’t enough to hold them up/in, but they’re super comfortable and I’m not having to pull on the band off my incisions anymore. The incisions itch, but there is no pain. I do feel the nerves reconnecting sometimes - it literally feels like I'm being electrocuted under my boobs, but it's tolerable.
I went to get my second set of 5-FU injections yesterday, 4 weeks on the dot, and the nurse alcohol wiped it and helped remove any loose glue chunks. I mentioned a pokey part that I noticed since day 1 and she called it a 'popping suture', where it just escapes the incision and doesn't dissolve. She easily either removed or cut it off - I didn't feel a thing. But I wanted to mention that in case you guys experience that. The second round of injections stung again, and for a bit longer since the nerves are reconnecting. She was very heavy-handed with my right breast, and I had to put gauze over it to put my bra on because there was quite a bit of blood. I was peeved because it felt like she was doing more harm than good. If the 5-FU injections were helping my skin to prevent keloid scarring, why make me bleed so badly? Because my logic is, scabbing additional scarring?? But anyway.. The glue has almost completely fallen off and I didn't want to dish out the $130 for the Biocorneum, but luckily, my boyfriend's mom had bought one a few months ago for her revision and never used it, so she gave me hers!
Sleep is starting to become troubling for me. I know I sleep better on my back when I'm not tossing and turning, but I think my back is tired and wants a break after a month, so I've been trying to sleep on my sides.. It's never really comfortable, so I have to tuck a flat pillow underneath the bottom breast. However, unfortunately the side sleeping doesn't last long because the weight of both breasts cause for my rib muscles and that cleavage space to become sore.
I know not to spend too much money on new clothes so soon, but wanted to take advantage of Black Friday deals. I bought a few $12 crop tops to wear with my sweat pants so I won't look frumpy this winter. I don't really foresee myself buying anything else until my implants drop and fluff. Since the tops are cropped, they'll be fine to wear in the spring and summer without a coat over it.
Range of motion is almost fully there.. I can move my arms around, above my head, but washing my hair can still be a little tight. I also still can't stretch to reach things, but am in no pain.. I am cleared to do cardio (anything that'll get my heart going) now. I can wear underwire bras in 2 weeks, as well as go back to weight-bearing workouts like yoga/pilates. I will probably give myself until week 8 to go back to lifting weights, easy on the arms since my range of motion is still lacking.
I measured my band size and bust size and it's looking like a 30DD/E!
