Hi! This community has been so helpful, hopefully by posting my process I can help others the way that you all have helped me.
Stats:
-29 years old
-Female
-No kids
-Approx 138lbs
-5’6”
-Pear shaped/athletic frame
-Starting size: 32A
-Desired size: 32C
-Implant type: not final on size yet, but maybe 330-360CC cohesive gel, breast fold incision (rather go through the nipple, but learned my nipples are too small. The things you learn when a bunch of strangers look at your boobs)
I’ve wanted a BA ever since I realized my boobs stopped growing. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a lot of confidence and love my body, but I’m realizing now how much I adapt what I wear/do to accommodate my small boobs. I want to do this now so I can maximize how much I enjoy my body now and in the future.
I’ve gone to three consults in two months. I felt like Goldilocks and the three bears. The first doctor was obviously accomplished, but didn’t ask me what I wanted. The second doctor was great and listened, but his office staff repeatedly asked me to bring in my boyfriend so he could help me pick size/shape— even after I bluntly told them “no, this is for me and not him”. The third was Dr. Stevens. He did a BA on my close friend, who is very active, and her outcome looks natural. His staff was awesome and he was easy to talk to. He made me feel in control of my outcome and even shared some photos of athletes he had worked on (with their permission, of course).
My doc and I are both traveling a lot this spring, so I squished my preop consult in on 2/25/19 and turn around to do my BA on 2/27/19. My friend’s recovery wasn’t too rough, but of course everyone is different. I’m very physically active (workout hard daily, play multiple sports), so taking time off for recovery will be my biggest challenge. I’ve been going through a rollercoaster of emotions ever since I scheduled the surgery. Putting a bag of silicone below the pec muscle sure is a strange concept, but I’m sure these feelings are all a normal part of elective plastic surgery.

Blood tests done, supplies ordered

Noboobstoboobs
I am a little more than a week out and finished my blood tests for the surgery last week. I’ve read that normally this happens a little further in advance, but I decided to go with a sooner surgery date rather than wait so we’re working on a compressed timeline here.

My doc’s office faxed over an order to my local Quest and I was in and out in less than an hour! I’ll call to make sure that the results get into my PS today. Tests were: CBC, HIV, Hepatitis C Antibody, and Serum Pregnancy.

I also ordered a bunch of things off amazon for my procedure and recovery. Let me know if I’m missing anything, but I’ll let you all know what works and what I could have done without:

Supplies:
-Arnica (to aid healing)
-Vitamin E (my doc recommended for capsule formation, post op ONLY, 400iu)
-Smooth Move Tea
-Colase stool softener
-Reusable silicon straws
-Hibiclens soap (docs orders for pre and post op showers)
-Wedge pillow
-Zip front sports bras (for after the surgical bra)
-A few front opening shirts/jackets

My boyfriend and I will be staying at a hotel the night after my surgery so I can see my doc the next day before heading home (we’re only an hour away but I hate LA traffic). I’m going to be packing a kit with some of these supplies and food. Keep y’all posted.

Preop done, surgery tomorrow

Noboobstoboobs
Preop was yesterday. I signed a billion papers talking about risk and care, went over my post op care and prescriptions with the nurse, then the doc came in and we went over sizing.

I’m still not 100% on the exact size, but I’m certain on mod profile naturelle cohesive gel 330-375cc. They have all the sizes in stock, so he has a some freedom to pick for me in the operating room based on my anatomy, wish photos, and his experience. They asked me to email a few wish pics to him (I sent 4, attached here), they printed them out and he said we’ll review again morning of surgery.

I’m heading to a hotel tonight so I can be there at 7am tomorrow for surgery. My boyfriend and I will stay at at the hotel for two nights and then go home after my post op appt the morning of 2/28. I’ll share my post op care kit once I’m packed.

The past few days have been rough. Trying to finish up a ton of work and chores so I chill Wednesday-Sunday. My emotions have been all over the board, luckily from this site I understand that is part of this process. But I finally told my most skeptical close friend about my choice to get a BA (was dreading talking to them about it). I normally wouldn’t give a sh*t about justifying my choice for my body, but we live together and I don’t want to surprise them when I come home high on pain meds. They’re a doctor and they questioned everything. I felt confident with all my replies (we went over complications, to my research, to my choice in doc), and they were less concerned in the end and we even started joking around about it. Weirdly, I think that helped put me at ease.
