WORTH IT
Hey everyone!
This site really helped me so I thought I’d tell everyone about my own experience. My op date was the 19th, I was super nervous but as soon as they took me down to the operating theatre I got really excited and couldn’t stop smiling (complete weirdo I know) the IV didn’t hurt at all when they put it in my hand and the anesthesiologist said he was going to knock me out with a hammer which made me laugh and before I knew it I was awake. The pressure was insane, I won’t lie! It felt like an elephant was sat on my chest and I really struggled to breathe but as soon as the nurse calmed me down I was fine. They gave me a muscle relaxer in my drip and I dozed off a little. Then they took me back up to my room. I’m recovering alone because my family are in another country, but my surgeon has been so helpful and I’ve got a friend that’s popping in every so often to check on me. I’ve been able to get out of bed by myself since yesterday, using mainly my core and legs, no support from my arms at all. The pain hasn’t been that bad at all, mostly just pressure. I was sick after I took my first antibiotic but hopefully, that was a one-time thing. I’ll leave some pictures from day 1 post-op.

Day 3 post op

3 days post op! Feeling tightness still but no pain, gradually starting to feel more active and able to perform simple tasks. Stopped taking meds because they were messing with my stomach! Saw my surgeon today and he said everything looked normal and that he’d see me again in 2 weeks

4 days post op, still lots of inflammation and pressure. Hoping it goes down! I’m sleeping well during the night, always seem to wake up at 6.30am with a lot of pressure and feeling swollen more in the right side than the left! I hope it all balances out. I’ve started again with bio oil today, I’m praying I don’t get any stretch marks
