Revision scheduled *BEFORE* 9 months post-op
WORTH IT$7,355
Added some photos of prior to my upcoming revision. 9 months post and the left breast never settled. You can see it still has all the volume up top (right breast perfect with volume in the bottom) the nipple is not in correct position. Forgot to take pic of the scars but they’re nearly all white and healed well.

Revision surgery confirmed
Quick update
9 month post op and it’s confirmed that the left breast didn’t settle properly so am scheduled for revision surgery June 25. Majority of cost for revision is covered, I had to pay $525 for the anesthesiologist fee.... I’m ok with that. Fingers crossed for perfection (or close to) when it’s all done!

Hope the revision went well, are you happy with the results since?
Sorry didn’t mean to comment twice my phone was playing up.

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted a BA. Kids, breastfeeding, illness, house repairs, life - something always put it on the back burner.
Finally, this year just went for it, there’s always going to be something that’s crops up and it was important to me.
Due to COVID, my initial consultation was done via FaceTime. This was honestly awesome and way more comfortable. I have been researching so long and had previous consultations so I knew what to expect. My surgeon was so welcoming and professional (as were his staff) and I chose him without a doubt in my mind due to the fact that he offered up all the details, good bad and possible complications. We discussed breast cancer mammograms and absolutely anything that could go wrong. He is warm, welcoming and confident, without ANY cockiness. Refreshing.
Some of my previous consultations were less than forthcoming about potential risks and dismissive of complications so I was confident that this would be a positive experience.
The office staff were quick to provide a list of surgical dates as soon as the Covid restrictions were eased.
I booked a date that worked and then travelled to office for measurements so the implant could be ordered. This visit just solidified that I’d made the right choice in surgeons. I was so comfortable and excited. The sizing options were discussed and relevant insight was provided about what would/could be the appropriate size. I already knew what I wanted from previous consultations with other surgeons but I was still pleased that my surgeon was in agreement. This is his craft and I wholly trusted his recommendations. Had he suggested a smaller size (or bigger) I would have trusted this.
From consult to surgery date was just a couple of months!
My only complaint was that the payment options available incurred extra fees. They would not take cheque’s that were uncertified, it was etransfer they preferred which would have been fine except I used my line of credit. They charged additional fees to send etransfer . Whereas I could have written a cheque from the same account for free. But in the end it was still cheaper than financing rates.
Surgery day came and I was first of the day. Small hospitals make for more relaxed and friendly care. Met with my nurses, anaestheologist and then my surgeon for photos, pre-surgical markings and any last minute concerns or questions.
I did have a negative response to anaesthetic unfortunately (which came as a surprise because I haven’t with previous procedures) I was so dizzy and nauseous but staff were great. My surgeon came to see me in recovery and I was discharged shortly after.
My surgery was at 8am, I had arrived at 6am and was discharged shortly before 5pm. Not bad at all!
Not much pain or discomfort the first evening but around 5am the next morning I felt it! Pain meds did an adequate job and I was mostly comfortable.
I weaned myself off daytime pain meds by day 5, only taking them at bedtime to ensure a decent sleep. The swelling is the worst part. Little pain, but the swelling caused a lot of discomfort. It went into my armpits and partly around to my back. The skin across my chest felt so tight, like it would tear if I took a deep breath. (It didn’t obviously but it sure felt that way) It took about 10 days for this to start to go down. I ended up having to buy sport bras because I was so swollen even the surgical bra cut into my skin. Make sure you plan for this. I could not get my arms up high enough to reach anything, wash my hair or put it in a ponytail. I had my husband and kids put the things I needed on the counter within reach. I also used my keurig to make tea because I couldn’t lift the kettle, even with minimal water. Also, (again due to swelling) bowel movements were difficult because of the requirements to reach....... This was not something I had considered in the least. Thankful this only lasted a few days.
My incisions look and feel great. I had zero blood, zero discharge and although the tape is still on (with no signs of lifting at all) there is no tightness or itchiness at all. I’m sure they’re heading just fine.
Sleep. Oh my word! If you are a side sleeper like me this is torture. I am still sleeping semi- sitting up as it’s more comfortable but getting comfortable, falling asleep and staying asleep are so so so hard. I’ve tried to sleep in bed and can’t. Thank god for recliner on couch.
I am now 2 weeks post-op and feel good. I can do most of my regular activities including washing my hair woo hoo. There is still quite a bit of swelling but manageable now. Breasts are starting to soften a little but watch out for sneezing. It’s agony. Again, not something I had considered.
I’ll have my follow up on September 1 ( roughly 4 weeks post-op )so am excited to see how things will go by then.
Any questions just ask!

They look amazing!! Congrats
Was this a regular price for this surgeon? I was quoted $9800 without a life.
I believe this is standard pricing for what I had done. It does change if you need a lift etc. That price was including my consult fee (which was deducted from the total cost) as well as taxes.
That's what I thought. I saw the price you paid and I liked your results, so I called his office asking for the price range (7000-9500). I paid the consult fee, drove an hr out and went for the appt. I definitely don't need a lift so it was just the implants. In fact, I was going to get the same size as you but I was quoted $9800. When I ask why the price was $9800, without any explanation I got an email with and "updated quote" for $9000. I asked again for clarity on the amount bc I didn't need a lift, also because their website says the price for implants starts at $7500. I was told $9800 was their price and that their staff didn't know the price changed, also I was told their website hasn't been updated to reflect a new price. They later called me looking to give me another price. All of this gave me a bad impression of their business so I decided to pay more and go with another surgeon. I'm so glad you had a great experience with him!
Maybe less business due to Covid called for price change? The $9845 I paid was pretty standard it seemed as other consults were in that range as well. Glad you found someone! It’s so exciting
Oh you paid $9845? Under your pictures you have that you paid about $7300.
That’s weird bevy it’s a verified purchase and I had to send in a copy of my receipt to prove the cost. Says 9845 right under title
Right on. Looks great!
Love to see an update on how your settling! Looks great as their d&f in these pics. Happy continued healing dear.
I know I’m slacking LOL. I’ll try to post some updates soon
Any updates
I have significant asymmetry. One breast did not drop at all. I’m now 6 months post-op and my last check in with surgeon we discussed the probable need for a revision surgery. A little disappointing but it is what it is. There is no CC but I’ll still need to wait for approximately the 1 year mark before I can have the revision. I’ll meet with surgeon again around April (8 months-ish post-op)
Do you have to pay??
They look great!! I’m going for my consult with Dr Laliberte in 2 weeks, I hope the recovery isn’t too agonizing!!
Congrats! He’s great. Let us know how it goes!
