43, 5’6 and 150. Carrying around 32f/g after nursing two kids in my 30’s. The nerve pain in my shoulders and neck was frustrating and so was the inability to wear what I wanted. My breasts were dense but sagging. I liked them but the physical and mental affects outweighed that. The pricey bras and bikinis and always looking heavier than I am was annoying. Dr. Lalibertes office put me at ease and despite only meeting him the morning of my procedure he was very confidence inspiring and sure of himself. My results are fresh but I’m already happy with them! Heads up. The breasts are tender but the Lipo pain is no joke! Stay on top of meds.
Positive, happy with results. All the staff, nurses were great and continue to be post op. Dr Laliberte was great. Would not hesitate to return. Liked that he gave several options, not pushing for the most expensive procedure
I have known I have wanted this surgery since my first was born in 2010. My son was 11 9oz and was brought into the world via a scheduled c-section. My second child weighed 10 13oz. My boys did a number on my body; I was as wide as I was tall. The weighest I ever weighed was 239 when I was pregnant with my first. Then shortly after having him I went down to 164 lbs. My average weight after having my second was about 182. Due to divorce in 2018 and stress I managed to find myself at 138, that didn't last too long then covid hit. I snuck back to 178 up until yesterday. I have researched many doctors within Edmonton. I even had a consultation with a different doctor but felt he wasn't the "one" he was great at breast augmentation, but I wasn't going for that. I searched Mexico from Cancun to Tijuana. From Toronto (Eldelstein) to even Lethbridge, Alberta. With Covid happening I want about to risk taking time off to have my flight canceled or other preventative things to stop me. I had timeline goals and didn't want to wait past 36. I wanted to this before my 35 birthday (June 5) but waiting till June 29 to have it is petty much 35. I came across Dr. Michael Laliberte through a Google search like I had found so many before. Based off his gallery what he's done for other women in tummy tucks, I knew I found the doctor for me. His ratings are high because he's honestly deserved them. Communication was there, friendliness from the staff, even the doctor himself explained all and answered questions I had. Sorry I don't have any before pictures other than me dressed. Once out of the OR, doctor went over with me that they SAFE liposuction out 2lbs of fat, and cut off 6lbs of SKIN!!! so from what little I've seen I think the results exceed my expectations. He also prenanmently sutured my rectus diastasis closed which was 4 inches separate!! This is the day after. I'll try to update as the heading journey continues! Updated on 3 Jul 2022: Today is July 3, four days post op. Finally feeling a bit more human. Post op day 1 was brutal. The doctor prescribed tramacet and I'm not usually one to take that high of a painkiller. It knocked me on my ass for the whole day in and out of sleep for the full 24 hours. July 1 (post op day 2) was spent in two different emergency centers (Canmore & Edmonton) because being diabetic and the days prior pill cocktail I woke up at 4 am puking, but was able to go back to bed. At 7 am I resumed puking and with a fresh incision hubby wasn't taking any chances and rushed me into Canmore where I stayed till I could stop puking. The doctor there thinks I didn't have enough to drink/eat on June 30 which caused the upset stomach reaction to the medication. Once back in Edmonton my blood sugars were high and once again my husband brought me back to emergency to which the doctor calmed his nerves and said it would be normal for my blood sugars to be unusually high because my body is busy healing first. Assured him that it is BELOW 30 I would be fine for a few days (highest I got was 18). Soon after 11pm we were home and I was in bed. I decided to take myself off tramacet and just stick to antibiotics and anti inflammatories (motrin) July 2 (post op day 3) was spent at home with husband mother in law and the 3/5 kids (blended family). My diet has been soup (chicken noodles and garden herb (costco)) applesauce (unsweetened), yogurt with Fibre, oatmeal (plain with a few berries) On day day 3 post op I had my first bowel movement, but flatulence on post op day 2. It was soft no strain. Yesterday I pooped 4 times, and nearing the end was like diarrhea, I am thinking it has to do with my blood sugar medication. This morning (post op day 4) my blood sugar was 13 before breakfast, but just testing it now its back to 17. Today breakfast was toast with butter scrambled egg 1 bacon 1 sausage with water. I have taken my antibiotic. I changed my dress, styled my hair, and put on some make up!! Feeling more human! Updated on 4 Jul 2022: Today I put on pants... well Lululemon yoga. I don't usually like to wear dresses but I knew those first days I would have to. This afternoon my drains were removed by my Edmonton Dr. and my husband jokes that he's never seen me take off my pants so fast! I was preparing myself for some uncomfortable pulling stretching/yanking but nothing. The drains were held in by a stitch proclaims the doctor. I did feel a ever so slight tug on the right, but zero, nada, zilch on the left. He put some gauze on the holes where the drains were and I was on merrily way out of his office. I am almost standing straight, hope to by the weeks end, but I won't push myself. This morning I walked over to the mall (which is fortunately across the street) where I walked for a full hour, no marathons here, but a consistent gentle pace. My husband thought I would be laid up for weeks "Pam-ing" it up. (For a laugh - Google nyquil Pam or click here: https://youtu.be/8Mq36t6R_zE ) I have had 2 c-sections, and although the last one was just over 9 years ago, this 100% reminds me of then. Everyone is different, and I am sharing my experiences with you; I'm not in the medical field, just good ol' Alberta raised farm girl thats maybe built a bit different than others. Updated on 5 Jul 2022: (Tuesday July 6) I do not feel like I'm "over doing it" let's start there. Today I drove around Edmonton, and have been on the go since 930 this morning (currently midnight). Around 2:30 pm I decided that I was bored and wanted to spend a few days in my hometown visiting family, so I drove the 2.5 hour drive by myself (I haven't been on pain meds) and surprised my family. This morning I weighed myself at 170.3, all of my research says I'm "swollen" and will be for 1-3 months before being able to START seeing final results. So that's promising!!! Not much new here. I'm feeling super human for not even being 1 week post op, but I'm 100% honest I know my body's limitations, and I promised my husband I wouldn't carry anything heavy and I've been faithful to that. My step father brought in my bag that my husband packed. There's some discomfort when I have to sneeze or cough, but it's not traumatic more like a dull ache.
I highly recommend Dr Laliberte, everything since the first consultation has been amazing. The nurses were super helpful and every time I had a question pre-surgery or post I could just call and they would get back to me in a timely manner. Also checked in with me the weeks leading up to surgery just to make sure we were on the same page and if I had any concerns. The whole surgery went very well the new facility is beautiful and clean the procedure maybe took around 5 hours total. Dr laliberte came in before surgery chatted with me, he went over the procedure and he made me feel at ease as well as the anesthesiologist was very nice! I went with 325 CC mod profile plus under muscle For reference I am 5'3 138lbs (prev 36A, no kids) I am now almost 3 weeks post-op and I love them my upper body finally feels proportional do my lower body! They are a very natural looking size. Updated on 11 Dec 2021: Almost 6 weeks post op and I have some nice cleavage!! They have dropped quite a bit and are getting more squishy! I still feel a bit of tenderness from my internal bra stitches but it's getting better weekly.
I originally had my money makeover scheduled for June 2020. It was postponed due to covid. I finally got in October 28th and it was so worth the wait. I had surgery in his new private surgical Center and it was perfect. So worth the wait! Updated on 18 Nov 2021: Three weeks since the day of my surgery. I’m so happy!! Scars are healing nice and starting to fade a little bit. Swelling is still there but nothing crazy. I’m pretty much back to doing my normal day to day routine. Standing straight finally. Back gets sore toward the end of the day.
I’ve been waiting breast implants since I was 18 but could never afford with school then buying a house, kids etc. This year I decided to go for it and had my procedure yesterday Aug 25 2021. So far I couldn’t be happier, the pains not bad at all, it’s just a bit difficult to use the upper body but not too restricting, I can still get out of bed on my own and make a coffee. For anyone deciding whether to the plunge I would say go for a it. I am wondering if I should have gone a little bigger though as I'm loving the size right now but obviously they’re swollen and that will go down. Fingers crossed there’s not a huge different tho.
Dr.Laliberte and his team changed my life! I spent years just trying to get a doctor to agree to see me for a consultation. I was always turned down due to my skewed BMI due to how large my breasts were. His office was the first to really listen to my pleas just to see me. They accepted me for a consultation with no promises of anything further. Once Dr.Laliberte saw me and my severe gigantomastia I was accepted for surgery. My reduction has literally changed my life. I'm no longer constantly in pain, I can actually workout and just generally enjoy life. I am so much more confident and comfortable in my own skin. For how much had to be done to get me to where I am my scaring is quite minimal and some areas are barely even visible after only a year and a half! I have nothing but amazing things to say about him and his team. They are all amazing at what they do and truly listen to your concerns.
Dr Laliberte provided a pleasant experience from consult up to surgery date. Everything was quick and easy, I'm currently day 4 post op and feeling great! I would highly recommend Dr Laliberte to anyone looking for augmentation. Updated on 24 Apr 2022: My implants have fully dropped and I love them. I cannot recommend Dr Laliberte enough!
Dr. Laliberte changed my life completely. For years I was uncomfortable with my body because of the size of my chest. I would always wear baggy shirts, oversized sweaters & sport bras. My neck & back were always sore & my posture was so bad! When I went for my consultation for a breast reduction with Dr. Laliberte, both him & the nurse answered all of my questions and concerns. I wasn’t sure prior to my appointment whether or not the surgery would be worth it, but once Dr. Laliberte clarified some things for me, I knew that this is what I needed to do. Surgery was just a couple short months after that and prior to going into the operating room, Dr. Laliberte came in to speak with me about the size I would like my breasts to be & any other questions before going in. One of my main concerns was keloids since I have had them before, but Dr. Laliberte did what he could to try and prevent those. I am now 6 weeks post op, no keloids, my posture has improved, and I went from a 36DDD to a 36C! It still takes my breath away when I take a look in the mirror. Dr. Laliberte has given me my confidence back & I cannot thank him enough!!
The BREAST thing I ever did for myself! While I could say that any doctor could have gave me smaller breasts and removed my “buffalo hump” Dr Laliberte was exceptional. He explained everything to me in detail, followed up with me about other health concerns before the surgery and his attention to detail is phenomenal. My breasts are just the cutest little perky things, I am obsessed with them. I’ve been self conscious of the size of my breasts and my hereditary “Buffalo hump” since I was in seventh grade. I went from a 38F to a 36C. My back doesn’t hurt anymore, I don’t hunch over anymore, I can button up blouses and I can exercise without pain and rashes! My only regret is waiting so long to make the decision. But I strongly believe that I waited for a reason, because had I done this when I was younger, I never would have met him! His bed side manner is fantastic, it’s like talking to an old friend. The staff at his office, Stephanie, his nurse Anna Lisa, and the nurses at the Banff hospital all made the entire experience so amazing. Even the anesthesiologist was comforting and made me laugh. Very upbeat and genuine bunch! I highly HIGHLY recommend if you are interested in a breast reduction or any other produce to give his office a call. You’ll be glad you did!
Hello, in my practice we combine liposuction with breast augmentation regularly. Liposuction under general anesthesia is completely safe when performed by a board certified Plastic Surgeon. Since you are already undergoing a general anesthesia for the breast reduction it is quite reasonable to perform the liposuction at the same time. This will allow you to recover from both procedures at once and avoid all of the risks of a second surgery as well as avoiding the discomfort of being awake for the liposuction. Sincerely, Dr. Laliberte.
Hello, what you are experiencing is a relatively common problem with breast reduction surgery where there is a lack of blood flow to the tips of the skin flaps that make up the inverted T. Most likely this is just a problem on the surface and will (and may have by now) developed into a small wound that will need dressing changes for it to heal on its own over the next couple weeks. Talk to your plastic surgeon about appropriate dressings and avoid an underwire bra until the area has filled in. This shouldn't affect your overall result as the area tends to heal up quite well and is nicely hidden under the breast.
