I have always wanted a breast augmentation and have had low self esteem about the appearance of my breasts. I have never been able to fill out shirts despite breastfeeding one child. I am 5'9.5" and 125-128 pounds. I am a 32A because 30 isn't usually available (May be AA). I have jut reached a point in my life where my ribs don't show at the bottom of my chest but they show at the top. I spent a LOT of time on realself learning the area specialists and Dr.Robert Colgrove kept being brought up as a competent and professional surgeon with reasonable prices. He was my only consultation. He has even done a breast augmentation on my hair dresser I cancelled all the other consultations after speaking with him because I knew I'd found my surgical home. I was torn between Ideal implants and Saline. I am afraid of interactions between my immune system and silicone filled implants based on the FDA Med watch reports of autoimmune symptoms which are unequivocally higher in silicone implants based on my own research about breast implant illness. Silicone implants also require MRI monitoring every 2 years and mandatory replacement at 10 years (35yo). Saline can remain in place until they rupture. I wanted a dramatic change in size to a D cup. He initially suggested 325cc saline but of course I'm an American I wanted BiGGER! He then let me know 400 was the largest that would fit if he could.

Day 1-7
mdu2December 19, 2019
My pain never went above a 6/10. I have a low threshold for pain if that’s any consolation ! I forgot I have an addicts brain and took the pain medication (acetaminophen/hydrocodone) for 2 days (48 hours) and ibuprofen for 24 hours after that. On day 8 I have driven, cooked and played basketball with my 4 year old with NO PAIN just heaviness. I was quite uncomfortable

I do apologize for this formatting, I have had quite a time with the Realself app. I was interested in doing a daily log but it deleted my logs 3 times which was demoralizing in the beginning of my healing.
As I was stating, I was uncomfortable the first few days but it was always fixed with repositioning myself, ice, or stretching. I tried to drive at 5.5 days post op but it was a bit too early ! I felt a little dizzy ! I called the office and Nurse Robin suggested waiting a bit. I had my bandages changed in the office on Friday after my Tuesday surgery by a nurse whose name I did not catch. My biggest adjustments have been postural changes and the sheer weight of my breasts! It took until I was 4 days post Op before I could stand the feeling of going without a bra! (I’m still wearing the post op bra 24/7). My right side I healing much slower than my left. My left side felt as though NOTHING was done only 3 days after surgery. The right side felt like I took a knife in the cleavage when I woke up but now it is just really tight. Everything is okay until I get cold and my chest muscles contract like they can spit the implants into my lap. This has been an amazing experience thus far !
