I just scheduled my breast augmentation with Dr. Ashley Gordon in Austin, Texas. My surgery date is February 8, 2018! I’ve gone to several consultations with both male and female doctors and felt the most comfortable with Dr. Gordon. She is professional yet very personable and I’m really looking forward to having her do my breast augmentation. I’m 39 years old and have one child that I breast-fed for nine months. I’ve wanted a breast augmentation for a very long time as I never felt very comfortable with my breasts. I’ve gained and lost weight multiple times and then having a child and nursing her just left my breasts deflated like many other women who have children. Although I wear a 36C bra, I definitely do not fill out the C cup. I think I’m closer to a B cup, maybe a B+? My goal is for my breasts to be proportionate to my body, more natural and aesthetically pleasing looking, and to get all around fullness. Currently, the upper pole of my breast is totally flat with very little breast tissue and the bottom of my breast has more tissue but like I said, more of a B+ to a small C cup. My build is more athletic and I have broader shoulders and a wider rib cage so I don’t want to have a top-heavy look. My areola currently sit low on my breast although my breasts don’t particularly sag (nipple is above the IMF) and I’d like them to be more centered on my breast without being stretched out larger than they are. I’m thinking that I will end up somewhere in the 400 to 450cc size range of implant. Since I do have a larger frame, I think a larger implant would be more appropriate and fit my body well. I definitely did my research and it took me two years to actually schedule my surgery after going to consultations. I am very excited about getting this done, although a little bit nervous, and the thought of having implants/a foreign object in my body kind of freaks me out a little bit but I am hoping that the results will be wonderful and that my anxiety about it will subside. Since I am almost 40, I am getting a mammogram in a few days - pre-implant - to have a baseline screening - yay! I think I’m more nervous about the mammogram then I am the surgery right now! But, I know this is a good thing to have, so, something to keep in mind for all you ladies who are around that age thinking of getting a BA!

Your boobs look very similar to mine, so I'm excited to see how the results turn out for you. I'll be having consultations late next year. Good luck to you! I'll be following your journey :)

Hi! I'm having a BA with Dr. Gordon on January 11th! I am so excited and nervous! I am 39 and I was laying in bed the other night wondering about getting a mammogram done before. Was this something she ordered for you or did you have to go to a different dr. for that? Anyway, so glad to see she's your surgeon too. I really need to start my own review or whatever it is they call this. lol

That’s exciting! I’d live to hear about your experience with Dr. Gordon so please start your review :) I had my OBGyn order my mammogram, I wanted to make sure there were no snags with insurance covering it. It was fully covered, ordered as a screening mammogram. I actually had it done yesterday and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be!

Surgery went well! I don’t have any crazy bruising and my left side boob is pretty sensitive but I’ve just been icing it which is doing the trick. I am super tired tough. I had to drive to an appointment today and was totally wiped out after so ended up sleeping all day. I left the sizing up to my doctor to decide once I was on the operating table giving her general guidelines of what I wanted to look like, I gave her plenty of wish pics. I found out today that she ended up going with 520cc full profile implants which is larger than I thought I would go, but, so far I think they look great! I can’t wait til they settle into their final position over the next few months, I’m sure the results are going to be amazing!
Dr. Gordon and her staff I have been fantastic the whole way through and highly recommend them if you’re considering any cosmetic procedure!

The implants are staring to drop a little. The muscle is also starting to soften up. The implants still feel pretty hard but little by little are making progress! Also, it seems that all of the swelling is gone, I’ve noticed they look smaller than have thus far. I’m very happy with the size, I still can’t believe I have 520cc implants... that sounds huge to me but I definitely think they are the perfect size for my frame.
One thing I noticed over the last week was that I randomly got really achy out of the blue. One day they were super sore, I thought I had passed that phase of recovery. I reached out to my nurse and she said it’s normal. Now they’re fine but it kind of worried me since the soreness had kind of subsided, and then just reoccurred out of nowhere. Surgery is no joke! I think people downplay BAs because there so common, but, it’s a major deal! I am taking it easy still. Not exercising has been a little tough, I am still just walking at this point and doing some light lower body moves. The thought of running or doing a down dog totally makes me cringe!

I just scheduled a Benalli lift with implant. did any doctor tell you about more sag? I am just curious because I’m not 100% on the lift. my doctor said I could get away with just an implant. this is harder then expected to decide. my breast look similar to your old ones :)

I considered the Benali lift too to reduce the size of my areola, but, to be honest I’m glad I didn’t do it. 1. Because now that my boobs are bigger, the areola looks more proportionate to my breasts, and 2. I didn’t want the scarring. My own breast tissue was a little saggy over the implant, more so on the left breast, but seems to be evening out now that the implants are dropping. I’m hoping they drop a little more and soften up a lot. At my 8 week follow up, my doctor told me my muscle was still very tight and I have to wear the strap to push them down and do more aggressive massage. There’s really no sag now, they look amazing. My doctor told me I didn’t need a lift and the size of the implant (520cc) helped perk them up. Good luck!
