350ish Cc Silicone Implants Under the Muscle

fl2020
WORTH IT$6,500
I had my breast augmentation yesterday (Friday 5/15) with Dr. Gayoso. I chose around 350 cc responsive silicone implants, under the muscle (dual plane). I ended up with 325 on one side and I think around 350 on the other side, since my breasts were a bit asymmetrical prior to surgery. I don't remember the exact size of the larger one since I was still pretty groggy when I talked to the doctor after surgery. I will get the full details at my first post-op next week.

Dr. Gayoso and everyone in his office have been amazing. Whenever I had questions (and I had A LOT), both his nurses and Dr. Gayoso himself were always willing to take the time to talk to me. It's been pretty crazy with the pandemic and not knowing if the surgery would still be able to happen, but they have been really great about communicating with me the whole time and have been really accommodating throughout the whole process. Elective surgeries were started up here again on the 11th, so I lucked out and was able to have my surgery as scheduled.

Pre-surgery I was around a full B cup, and I'm aiming to be a D cup, which is what I was before having kids. I'm 38 years old, 5'6" and around 140 pounds currently. I have 2 kids and both were breastfed for 2+ years. Once I stopped nursing and dropped some more weight, my boobs ended up just kind of empty looking and deflated. They weren't terrible but I missed the way they used to look and how they filled out my clothes. I've thought about having a boob job since then (about 6 years so) but late last year I finally decided to take the plunge. Luckily I did not need a lift, so I just did the implants.

I was really nervous going into the surgery center yesterday, but the nurses and doctors did a great job of putting me at ease. So far the recovery has been pretty much what I was expecting. I'm very sore and everything feels tight. The only thing that has been a surprise is how sore I am around my rib cage. When I have to get up it's pretty painful, it kind of feels like a ripping or burning sensation under my boobs, around where my incision is. Not sure if it's the incision itself that hurts or where the muscle and everything was cut underneath. Probably a little bit of both. I'm taking pain meds every four hours and just started on ibuprofen this afternoon. I'm hoping I can begin weaning off the prescription painkillers tomorrow and just go to ibuprofen and Tylenol.

So far I'm really happy with the results, but I can't really tell what they look like very much yet since they're pretty swollen and tight. I can't wait to see the final result. I was worried they'd be too big, but I don't think that is going to be the case at all. I don't have many "after" pics yet since I can't really take this bra off, but I will update later once I have some more.

How are you healing up a week po now? I'm thinking about 350cc as well and surgery is scheduled for next Friday. Are you happy with the size? Can you post a new picture of them?

6.5 week post-op update

fl2020
I'm currently about 6.5 weeks post-op. I wanted to post an update to share my experiences so far and post some more after pics. Also, I got my little card, my actual implant sizes are:

Right breast (my larger side pre-surgery): 325 cc full profile
Left side: 375 medium profile

So I definitely still think the surgery was worth it - I think my boobs look great - but there have been a few downsides that I wanted to share. I also know that I won't really know what the final result is going to look/feel like until 6 months post op. Overall I am super happy and can't wait to see the final result.

When I first posted my review I had just had the surgery, and at the time it seemed like I was getting better quickly, which I did. The first few days were kind of rough but after 7 days I was able to do most of my normal stuff, just with a little less energy. But now that I'm six weeks out I guess I'm kind of more annoyed at the recovery process than I thought I would be. Prior to surgery, I was working out at least a few times a week, either running or body weight pilates/yoga or HIIT-type workouts. Although I was cleared to work out at 4 weeks, running does not feel great, and I can't do a lot of the upper body/core stuff that was most of my fitness routine before. So it's been kind of a struggle to find a good way to work out, plus with the quarantine, even before surgery, my eating habits were not great due to being home 24/7. So overall I've gained about 5-7 pounds and it's causing me some anxiety. I know as I heal more I'll be able to be more active, and I'm back on track with my eating, so the weight should come off. But it's something to know going into surgery I think.

I've also had a SUPER hard time finding a bra that fits well. Post-surgery, all the front close bras that I had sucked. They were either too tight or so flimsy they barely provided support. I finally found a decent fitting size in the Target brand. But now I can wear any kind of bra I want, but since most fitting rooms aren't open, this is not an easy task. Mostly I have been ordering them from Target to try on because this is the easiest place for me to return stuff to. Luckily I am still working from home, but I really need a decent, supportive bra soon to hold the girls in for a couple of days coming up when I do have to go into the office for meetings. As far as sports bras, I'm actually wearing my old bras still. They are super tight but for running it works because it minimizes the bounce factor (ouch).

The only pain I'm having at this point is actually pain in my ribs. This is not something I've really heard other people talk about, so this might just be a me issue, but they really hurt. If I try to use my core muscles too much, or my arms, it hurts pretty bad in my ribs. I went to the beach last weekend and tried to swim a little, and using my arms was very painful. Sleeping on my side also makes my ribs hurt, as does sitting up wrong or doing certain twisting/stretching motions.

Anyway, that's my update. None of these things would have changed my mind about having the surgery. I'm very happy with my results. :-)
