How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I’ll try to keep this short and helpful:
- Be patient. During weeks 1-3 I over googled every single small thing (implants weren’t falling, nerve shingles, asymmetry) when time really solves the vast majority of these things.
- Don’t overdo it. Take every movement slowly and listen to your body. A part of me thinks the left implants is not settling because I did too much too soon with my left (dominant) arm.
- They will get softer. It’s not the implant that does: it’s your skin. If you start from zero like me, your skin will be extremely stretched by the implant and everything will be hard. Sometime around month 1 I noticed they were getting much squishier, because the skin was adapting. I used a lot of vitamin E oil and I haven’t gotten any stretchmarks, yay.
- Your anatomy matters. I regret going UTM a little bit, because there is a little piece of my left pec that’s keeping the implant from going inwards when I squish the boobs together. Also, the creases naturally sat a different heights before surgery, and that’s still the case now. I wonder if in 3-4 more months that will be less noticeable.

I am 9 days post op today! I’ll try to label every picture. Here is a little summary of what recovery has been like so far:
Day 1 (surgery at 9am): muscles were sore, couldn’t use my arms at all, any door had to be opened by someone. I was only nauseous during the car ride home (I drank some gatorade and puked it in a bag 2 minutes later). Spent all day propped up on the couch. Laying down hurt a lot. Asked my boyfriend to open all my meds lids.
Days 2-4: my left boob was in a lot of pain, both muscle wise and nerve wise. Started getting very painful nerve pain around my left nipple, noticed I was also numb on half of that breast too. The right one was not giving me any problems whatsoever. Kept taking all meds religiously, started showering. I just kept my back to the water and washed everywhere I could reach with regolar bodywash, and my boobs and armpits with hibiclens. Ok for water to run on my incisions (but no rubbing) because they have a layer of hydrophobic glue.
I never had bowel movement these days :(
Days 5-7: as my muscles became less and less sore, I stopped taking acetaminophen because it contributes to the constipation. Despite taking stool softeners all week, nothing worked, so I ended up buying a 6-pack of edemas from CVS, which worked. Boobs are still high and hard as rocks, arms movements are slowly coming back which unfortunately means I do more than I’m supposed to, lifting bags, holding doors etc.
Days 8-9: I went to my first post-op, doctor confirmed all is good and she showed me how to do the initial massages. I was hoping she would trim/remove my stitches but apparently that will happen next week, so no silicone tape yet. At this point I can do any day-to-day movement no problem. Since the girls feel heavy, squished and engorged by the end of the work day, I tried going on a long walk with no bra on!
It felt really good, it somehow made my nerve/nipple pain stop. I decided that I will keep the tight surgical bras on during the day and at night (to avoid bilateral displacement) but I will have the girls free for a fee hours every evening. I believe that will make them settle faster a little faster too.
I am soooo ready to do some lingerie shopping, resume sexual activity and the gym. One more week!
