WORTH IT
Well, tonight I decided to start the documentation of my Breast Augmentation journey. I have turned to this site a few times now to get some answers and reassurance before undergoing my surgery so I’m hoping I can be that outlet for someone else here in the future.
I have ALWAYS dreamed of having the most perfect breasts. I have an athletic build. I have played volleyball and other sports for several years, and with that came thick thighs and a big bottom. I just always felt my lower body was never in proportion with my upper half. Right now I am a 36B on top and it just doesn’t fit with my thicker lower half. With that said, I’ve lacked a sense of self consciousness over the years when it comes to my chest. Not that I’m not a confident person, but just felt something was lacking, something to make me feel more confident in my own skin, and that something being breasts!
Last year at the end of 2020 I really considered maybe, just maybe this is something I want to do for myself and that it didn’t hurt to go in for a consultation. I scheduled my consultation for October 23rd. I was so nervous to undress, take my top off, and show my breasts to the doc, but that’s just me and always has been me. I’m a very private person when it comes to my body, but who knows, that could change once I undergo my new cleavage ;) Dr Donaldson was very professional, made me feel comfortable, and it wasn’t that weird awkwardness I was anticipating at all.
I asked all the necessary questions. One of my main concerns was if my husband and I considered having a family in the future, no kids as of yet, if I could breast feed with the implants, changes in the implants at that time, etc. It was reassuring that if I’m meant to breast feed, that I will, even with the implants. Example, the assistant said she had her implants done before having her two children and she breast fed both of her kids with her implants.
The only struggle for me, and even to today being two weeks out to surgery, is SIZING! It’s hard to get the full vision of what the breasts will look like in the sizers. I have in my mind that perfect look I’m trying to go for but still the sizings are messing with my emotions. I want a natural look, but with that perkiness that they pop without a bra on. I want them big enough to the point where I know I put the right size in but not too much that they are so bam in your face. After going in for sizing a second time, three of the nurses all stated the same suggestion ... air on the bigger size. They said after women undergo their surgery, there’s two things stated: 1. I should have done it sooner 2. I should have went bigger.
So with that said, I have decided upon the 415cc HP over the original 385 we settled on in the first appt.
... flash to today ...
Breasts are paid in full, less than two weeks out from surgery, prescriptions picked up, but still struggling on size. I went from am I going big enough, to am I going too big, to again, am I going big enough. After reading reviews, looking at more photos, reading other journeys, etc. I’m debating if I should go with 450s now?? I do have a smaller chest cavity which limited me on sizing for moderate profile, which helped me decide upon the high profile ... but wondering if going with the 450s will make the breasts look too scrunched together due to having the small chest cavity.
I have read that once the breasts settle in and drop, they will decrease in size by 20%. I may have to go back in for a third time and check out the sizings again. I may also have to put Dr Donaldson on my speed dial now. Hahaha.
All and all, each day I get more and more excited. I started out super nervous but now I’m ready, besides narrowing down my FOR SURE size I want. I’m sure when the actual day comes I’m going to be nervous as hell but I’m ready to do this. The anticipation of what my friends and family will think/say is another thing. My husband is the only person who actually knows of my breast augmentation right now so that should be a fun reveal afterward.
To think the days of padded bras are almost over! Stay tuned for more updates, if/when I hone in on my final sizing (which your recommendations are highly encouraged), post surgery, etc.

I wish I had gone smaller. They looked great at first but I've had them 20 years now and are so heavy to carry year after year.

What style did you go with? Saline or silicone or gummy? I don’t think they had the gummy at that time though. What size were you before getting the procedure and what size did you go with?

Awe thank you. I think it’s just the angle. I’m most excited for the lift and volume I’ll get with an implant.

Sizing FINALLY Determined; 450CC HP; 5 Days Till Surgery!

Went back into Dr Donaldson one last time today to narrow down between 415 and 450 cc HP. There wasn’t much difference between the two, honestly so I decided to go with the higher sizing since they will settle in after healing. Read through all the paperwork, post op steps, etc last night. Got my prescriptions and healing medicines all ready to go, going to get some thin liners this weekend for the incisions, and just ordered some additional front closure sports bras for post op, just in case.

Pretty much all set ready for action. Last step is getting my covid test done tomorrow, unfortunately. I shared the news of my surgery with two of my other friends, just because I was anxious and needed someone else to talk to. They are excited for me.

The countdown is onnnnnn .... LETS GO!

Counting Down the Days, Post Surgery Sports Bras Arrived!

It’s the afternoon of 2/6/2021. Just finished chores, now waiting for our new king bed to arrive to lounge in post surgery. No, didn’t order the bed just because of surgery, but it’s a nice added touch right before surgery day :)
I’m getting more and more excited for Tuesday to be here. Just got a new dress in the mail to wear once all healed up, that’s low cut and opened back. Eek ... so excited!
I also ordered some new post surgery sports bras off of Amazon that I have attached here for your reference. I was advised by the doc to have extra sports bras accessible post surgery, ones with front closure rather than over the head since it’s recommended to not do a lot of lifting over your head post surgery.
These sports bras received great reviews. I went one size bigger, just in case, since the breasts will be swollen and obviously I’ll have a lot more to work with come a few days from now. I received these bras to the house today and tried them on. They are a comfortable material, supportive, and would be pretty cute to rock in the gym after healing.

Yesterday wasn’t bad at all. The surgery center employees were so nice. Met with the doc beforehand to chat and then I was out haha. Woke up and recovered a little and then headed him. My husband has been super helpful. I have a good little set up by the bed with all my essentials (pills, crackers, fluids, etc) I have myself propped up in between a giant body pillow in the bed. Today I’m just tight, especially under the arms and side of the boobs. When I walk around I hold them up for less movement. I haven’t taken the support bra or coverings off yet. Plan to do so tomorrow when I get to shower. All and all it’s pretty easy. Just an uneasy pressure on the chest. I have been sticking to the doses they say to take for the meds. Just want to stay ahead of the pain as much as possible.
