7 & 6 days post op and hematoma

Just adding an update. The last week has been pretty rough - I haven’t really been in much pain but I’ve felt awful as I was already anaemic before the hematoma and surgery! Had a check up with my Dr and he is happy with how I’m healing. I’m super surprised that I don’t have horrendous bruising after the hematoma. I am although really hoping that my breasts ‘even out’ as they start to heal. Surprisingly the one that didn’t have the hematoma is the one that’s more swollen and more uncomfortable!?

Hematoma

Unfortunately a few hours after my drains were removed yesterday I developed a hematoma and had to go back to surgery. My breast swelled extremely suddenly and I was in extreme pain. Felt like a new woman when I woke up from surgery but am feeling rather groggy and sore today. I wouldn’t wish a hematoma on anyone, it’s less than 2% chance of it happening so I guess I’ve just been unlucky :-( sad today.

It’s done!

Went down for my op today at 11:30AM and it’s ow 08:15PM. There is some discomfort but to be honest I’m feeling pretty comfortable and it is NO WAY as bad as I imagined! Being careful moving my arms and trying not to use them to get up or move myself around. Attaching pics of me marked up before surgery. Hope I feel as comfortable tomorrow!
