Breast implant
I've never really wrote a review before but I hope that this can help anyone out on finding the right doctor and the right clinic to go to. I've been wanting a breast implant for quite a while now. But I knew I still wanted children. I'm a mother of 5 and my youngest is now 5 so I'm ready to do something nice for myself. I have a few consult around he charlotte area since it's close to home. I decided to go with Doctor Gear at Providence Plastic Surgery. The clinic was very nice and inviting and Doctor Gear was easy to talk to very honest. The price was within my budget.
My preop visit was very informative. I got to pick out my size that day. The nurse does all the help when it comes to picking out the size. She knew I was very nervous since I've never been under anesthesia, she assure me I will be in good hands and explained all that they will do and who will be in the operating room. I felt confident after!!
The day of surgery went very well. I was in by 630 a.m. and out by 9-10 am. The anesthesiologist was super sweet and explained everything of what she will do and
how she'll monitor me. I went home with no problems, still half asleep from my pain meds. So make sure you have someone go with you! And you will need someone to be with you the first 3 days at least to help get out of bed or get things for you. You won't be able to reach for anything, even trying to lift yourself off the couch or the bed you will need someone to help you. Sleep on more of 30 degree or higher. You will need to take note of when you took your medication especially our pain meds since they are taken as needed.
I've never had any surgery done so didn't know how my pain tolerance will be. I have to say that it was very painful for me the first 3 days. I needed to take prescription pain med. Tylenol didn't help!! The pharmacy I filled my prescription from miscounted my medication so I was low on pain meds! I was freaking out and I message the clinic (keep in mind, at providence plastic surgery, you communicate through an app). The nurse messaged me they were unable to send me anymore prescription if I needed it. Thank goodness Walgreens called me back that their technician miscounted my medication and was ably to provide it for me. I really thought I didn't need it anymore but it was at night when the pain is so bad I couldn't sleep.
I'm now on day 8, I am feeling much better! I stop taking prescription pain medication as of day 4. Still taking Tylenol as needed. I just went in for my post opt! I was excited for my appointment and wanted to see what Doctor Gear's thoughts were since I felt like one side is a little smaller than the other. The nurse took me back, took the tape off my incision, and sent me home. She told me she'll send me a video of how to massage my breast. The visit was less then 10 minutes. I did not see the doctor. which was surprising. I feel somewhat disappointed especially I drove over an hour.
I have a 6 week follow up appointment and hope that I will see the doctor. As of now I'm not really sure how I feel about the way it looks since it's still so new. And it's pretty stiff to the touch so I'm very nervous on how to massage it. I really wish someone would show me in person how to do it vs watching a video. I will post pictures below and will keep updates! Hope this helps!
