Do your research first before you let these surgeon put you under. Having revision surgery twice with little results says a lot about the practice.

My story:
I'm hoping to help someone by sharing my story. After three beautiful children I hated my body. As with most pregnancies I gained weight, had excess skin on my waist and my breasts seemed "deformed". I wanted to feel beautiful again. I had a tummy tuck done in 2010 by a doctor in Colorado. It went amazing! I healed beautifully, had no complications and the end result was more than I could ever ask for. Two years later the military took us to Hawaii where I decided I wanted to get breast implants. After a consult with Dr. Pasquale's office I decided to schedule to have my surgery done, which I did in December 2012. I had read reviews that Dr. Pasquale didn't have the best bedside manner but that didn't matter to me as long as the surgery was done right. The day of surgery I was placed on a rolling table in a regular room in his office at 677 Ala Moana Blvd. After getting the IV inserted and given meds I was rolled into a small room with a huge bright light and lots of plastic drawers, etc. I remember freaking out and beginning to cry. The next thing I remember is being put in my husbands vehicle. My husband said I slept most the way home and most the rest of the day. I don't remember much at all to be honest. I do remember waking up the next morning in extreme pain (which was expected after a breast augmentation). Later on that day my husband took me to my appointment with Dr. Pasquale where he removed the bandages and examined my breasts. He cleaned the incisions and said everything looked good. He told me I needed to clean the incisions with peroxide and ointment three to four times a day and cover the incisions with gauze and medical tape. He told me he sells a kit with everything I need for just $40. I walked out with my $40 white paper bag full of whatever and went on my way. Later on when it was time to clean the incisions I pulled out my "kit" that I purchased from the doc's office earlier that day. I was pretty disappointed when I found Wal-Mart Equate brand ointment, a box of crappy gauze and some "medical" tape. There was probably $5 tops worth of stuff in the bag. But whatever, I wasn't going to a store for stuff to clean an incision a day after a breast aug anyways. A couple days later I started to get worried about the coloring and bruising of my breasts. Within the first week post-op I had different colors from bluish-purple, black and yellow around my nipples, my breasts and yellowing all the way down to my private area. Doctor said: some people bruise more than others and its normal. He had me go several weeks wearing no bra and wearing a super tight band around the tops of my breasts to get them to "drop". The right breast was already beginning to get hard and not wanting to drop. Dr. Pasquale had me start wearing the band diagonal over the right breast (to push it down) and under the left breast (since it had dropped). I hated going out anywhere bc my chest looked deformed wearing that dang band like that but I wore it anyway. I started getting skin rashes and skin bleeding under my right armpit from the band digging in my skin. Anyways, my left breast seemed perfect while the right one just got firmer and began to hurt. I started getting "shooting" pains in my right breast. It would feel like a "sting" at times too.
At a check up, Dr. Pasquale performed a closed capsulotomy (which at the time I didn't know that's what it was). He used his palms and squeezed the crap out of my right breast. I heard a pop and it hurt so bad but yet felt better at the same time. After, he told his assistant to schedule me for regular ultrasound massage treatments. She quoted me over $400 for the treatments which I declined. Later I called another doc and told him what Dr. Pasquale did and he explained to me what closed capsulotomy is and that it not only risks rupturing the implant but also voids out the warranty of the implant. And to top it off it only gives temporary relief, which was true bc it started right back up with firmness and pain. This other doc also explained to me that the ultrasound treatments were not proven to work so I didn't feel so bad for rejecting them.
I remember Christmas Eve 2013 I was trying to help my husband put up our kids trampoline that Santa brought them but instead I ended up crunched over crying on the ground bc of the pain from my breasts. It got to where I couldn't mop my kitchen without having severe pain. Dr. Pasquale told me to try using my left arm to do things including carrying my purse. He started giving my steroid injections in my right boob. He said it would help dissolve the scar tissue over time. After three different appointments with injections (another $70+ each visit) I could feel the "bag or implant" when I touched under my breast so Dr. Pasquale said he couldn't do anymore steroid injections and my appointment ended with me walking out with a quote for another $6500 to release the capsule. I'd already paid $7500 for the initial breast aug, $40 for a so-called kit, $210 in steroid injections, and$40 for the breast band. Another $6500 seemed crazy to me. I went home and did my research. I decided to schedule a consult with another cosmetic surgeon for a second opinion. I called Dr. Pasquale's office to request my op report. They refused to give it to me. I told them
I was having severe pain and wanted a second opinion and I needed my records. The office staff then told me they'd have Dr. Pasquale give me a call. After an hour long phone conversation with Dr. Pasquale I decided to go have a sit down with him. He told me to come by his office at after closing bc he'd be doing paperwork and have time to sit and talk. I took my friend with me bc I was already uncomfortable. When I showed up he had a stack of papers of cases from other patients. I guess he wanted to defend what I told him
I read on the Internet. He told me about cases that he settled at $25,000 (which he called "shut up money") and how the people who brought suits against him had other "issues". I told him I don't want anything from him but for him to make it right. I told him that I was really uncomfortable with the amount of bruising I had from the first surgery and that I felt like he was rough with me or uncaring while I was on the operating table. I also told him I was worried about how when I called other cosmetic surgeon's offices that they all knew who he was from correcting surgeries that he performed on patients. He told me that if I helped him he would help me. He told me he doesn't need other cosmetic surgeon's offices bashing his name and he wanted to put a stop to it. He told me if I told him who and what was said that he'd do the surgery for me to release the capsule and waive all the fees except for the anesthesiologist fee which was $1000. I was in extreme pain most of the day every day, I couldn't care for my children they way a mother should and I felt so useless. And after all the money I'd already paid Dr. Pasquale I couldn't afford to pay another $6500 so I took the offer for the $1000. He told me he would go through the same incision at the nipple, pull the implant out and cut out the capsule then replace the old implant. He said there was no need to replace the implant so he didn't. I felt like he was treating me better and acting like he cared and wanted to help me.
At my appointment to remove the sutures I told him I didn't feel like the sutures were ready to come out. You could still see some "openings" of the incision between the sutures. However he said the sutures were ready to come out and he instructed his assistant to take them out so she did. She bandaged it up and told me to cleaning it and put fresh ointment and a new bandage on it the next morning. The next morning when I woke up I was in an extreme amount of pain. When I took the bandage off I saw the most horrifying thing ever! About half of the incision had busted open. I immediately called Dr. Pasquale's office who told me to come in immediately. Dr. Pasquale gave me a couple numbing shots around my nipple, left me to sit for 20 minutes, came back and stitched it back up, then sent me on my way with an RX for Percocet. For the next month I had fluid leaking from my nipple. I worked in a call center and had to take breaks every hour to change the padding on breast. I remember being stuck on a call and the fluid leaking through my shirt. I ended up staying in my cubicle the rest of my shift since the right side of my shirt was wet like I was a breastfeeding mother! By the 3rd month after the 2nd surgery scar tissue had formed again. It's now been 10 months since the last surgery and my right breast is as hard as it was before. I'm now being treated by an amazing Doctor here in Colorado who says I'm now at a Grade III cc. I'm scheduled to have my 3rd surgery next month to hopefully correct this problem that I have.
I understand that capsule contracture is a risk when having a breast augmentation and that no doctor can predict who will or will not develop cc. However, I don't understand why Dr. Pasquale refused to give me my op report even when I offered to pay for it, I don't understand why he can't keep employees (the girl who I talked to today at his office when requesting my op report again told me she was new and bare with her as she's still learning). Now I will say that I liked Rose (one of the ladies that worked in his office in 2012 when I had my first surgery). However, Dr. Pasquale told me: Roses pisses people off. And Rose no longer works there. Then there was another girl who worked there who I can't remember her name. After my first surgery she was the one to show me how to preform the breast massages, etc. She no longer works for Dr. Pasquale either. After my 2nd surgery with Pasquale a lady named Kanani worked for him. I really liked her. However, she no longer works for him either. Why does he continue to go through employees? Yes, I'm aware he's had students in his office but these ladies were not students! Now when I search him online I find cases and lawsuits. Lady from Big Island wins breast surgery suit....$100,000, numerous complaints (including that he's not board certified even though he says he is), no bedside manners, cigarette breath (I've experienced this from him myself), rudeness, blah blah blah.
Now to elaborate more on the board certification: I confronted him with this before the 2nd surgery which he pulled up some website to show me he is board certified. Well, I'm no doctor or surgeon and don't know a whole lot about board certification. After talking to another doctor they checked for me and showed me that Dr. Pasquale is NOT a board certified plastic surgeon through the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. I went home and checked again on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons website to find that there are several plastic surgeons certified through this board in Honolulu Hawaii. However, Dr. Pasquale is NOT on that list! He may be "board certified" through some board but not the ones that matter!
I wish I would have know all of this BEFORE I left him operate on me! For the past 3+ years I've been dealing with the same problem. A firm, painful right breast. I lay down and my left breast is like a natural one while my right stands straight up like a cantaloupe under my skin. I sit in overly warm baths at night to try to ease the pain. I use a heating pad every morning to try to ease the pain. My 6, 8 and 10 year old watch me cry in pain and aggravation from not being about to care for them and do simple things like mop my floor without being in pain. When I first developed cc I was still happy with my decision to get breast implants but after 3+ years of aggravation, pain and a lot of money I wish I'd done my research more in depth when choosing a doctor. I don't regret my decision to get breast implants but I regret my decision in the Doctor I selected. I'm so mad at myself for the decision to allow Dr. Pasquale to operate on me not only one but two times. I'm not saying he's a horrible person or a horrible Doctor. Maybe he does better jobs with surgeries other than the breasts. I'm just saying my experience with him has not been a good one and I'm still suffering. I just turned 29 years old. I should feel amazing right now! But I'm embarrassed by this hack job. I don't like taking my clothes off in front of my husband, I don't like looking in the mirror, I feel like a lacking mother and wife, and I'm just not happy with this outcome! As I said, I have scheduled to have a 3rd surgery next month by a doctor that IS board certified through the ASPC.
I do expect Dr. Pasquale to reply and comment on my reviews negatively and "defend" himself as he has with many of the other negative reviews on the Internet. In one comment he even says that the patient had a drug problem. That's shows you his character right there. So I've prepared myself for his negative remarks (but he sure can't say I have a drug problem).
I'm not one to leave reviews online. However, I feel like my experience has been so traumatic to not only me but my family as well that I should share my story. I hope to have I helped someone by sharing. I'm open to answer any questions and share photos as well.

Dr.Michael Pasquale disappointed surgery
realistic4uSeptember 30, 2015
Two surgeries and still not up to expectations. Breast still sagging with a bubble effect. Tummy tuck high and swollen, tenderness in stomach area. Butt lift only had 250cc fat added to each cheek which there is hardly any difference. His incision are closed with staples.
Welcome to the BBL girls:)
There are so many choices for patients. I would say keep looking until you find the doctor your are 100% comfortable and sure about.
