Tip for purchasing supplies

If you have a flexible/health spending account through your employer be sure to use some of the funds to purchase the post-op supplies such as gauze and bandages. Great way to save money if you already have the plan. If you are planning to have the surgery next year you can allocate some money during open enrollment.

Preliminary Supply List

Here is my preliminary supply list. I didn’t add things like gauze because I already have a ton from my first aid kit and an emergency room visit. Please comment any suggestions and I’ll update my list.

I added the prices as I was shopping around and is without tax or shipping costs.

SX Date Has Been Booked!

I'm so happy that everything is official now! My surgery date is booked for March 20, 2019. I wish I could have it sooner but I can't take any time off from work. One of my employees is currently dealing going through chemo for breast cancer :( so she will be out from Dec-Feb. I want to make sure she is okay before I take any time off. I'm a long way away from surgery day but I just know it's going to go by fast! I'm putting together my list of supplies and checking out flights from the Bay Area. I'll be having my boyfriend with me so if anyone knows of any recovery houses that allow significant others please comment. I'm also thinking about flying my little sister out to help with post op stuff. She's always been a good caretaker so I told her to keep her schedule open just in case I can't find any recovery houses. Next update will about my supply list, etc.
