WORTH IT
I wish I had done this procedure sooner! Dr. Taranow is THE BEST! He really understands and cares about his patients. He's very honest, professional and knows his stuff, and his office staff is great too.
What I got done: Liposuction (back, sides, lateral axilla, abdomen), & Fat transfer to Hip Dips/Butt.
I chose Dr. Taranow as my plastic surgeon because a relative had a procedure done with him in the past and she had great results as well. I didn't mind driving 4+ hours to go get the procedure done by him.
When I went for my consult, I explained to him what I didn't like about my body and wished could be improved. My back was wide, my waist wasn't small and the worst part was my hips. My hips had always been super narrow, and as I got older (I'm 36 yrs old) because of the accumulation of fat above them, my hips looked even narrower and had very prominent dips. I didn't want a huge butt or anything like that, just a smaller waist, fill in the hip dips/lateral butt for an overall better shape and more important, a natural look. I wasn't going for the huge bubble butt look (which he can do if that's what the patient wants ;) ! ).
I had more modest goals. My goal wasn't to look like a 'model' either, or have a 100% flat and smooth belly. I've had 2 kids after all (1 natural, 1 csection), I have a csection scar, and the skin on my belly is a little wrinkled, so that's why it was important for me to have realistic expectations.
With that in mind, I decided to treat my self and improve my body. I booked the surgery for January 4th, everything went great. Of course recovery isn't easy, but every day gets better. Taking the pain meds as prescribed, getting plenty of rest, wearing the compression garment etc. makes the recovery easier. At first, I was very swollen and bruised and I had fluid accumulation in my lower abdomen. That's all normal. 12 days post procedure I couldn't be happier with the results so far! And I'm still healing, my body will only look better in the next couple of weeks.
If you want a caring Doctor who truly listens and understand what you want to get done, someone who is an expert in those kind of procedures, who personally calls you the night of and day after the surgery to ask how you're feeling, etc then Dr. Taranow is the right Dr. for you!
