Losing Volume!!!
The Ugly Side of Plastic Surgery
One of the Ugly Sides of Surgery that Many don’t consider before getting a procedure done. Antibiotics, Water Pill( for liquid retention and swelling) , Pain Meds, Iron, Potassium , and God knows what else lol . I also developed a really ugly bruise following my surgery so I was given pills and cream to cure that (I also have been instructed not to wear my garment until the bruise goes away because the compression will cause the bruise to peel/crack my skin) . Not wearing the garment has RELLY caused me to swell and retain fluids and that is not a good feeling !! Fingers crossed I can begin wearing my garment Monday . Which will be my 1 week post opp mark. I will make another post showing pictures of the bruise

Things I would have liked to See/Experience with Doctor Cesar Velilla
1. An Actual Sit down Session where he sees what I want, and makes professional suggestions/recommendations on what would work for my body type. Part of what your paying for when you chose a surgeon is their expertise! He does not make any recommendations on what he thinks , if you come in saying you want to look like a horse he will do it . Which I mean I get it your paying, but I would also like to see some remote interest by the doctor for me. Even hair stylist make suggestions when your in their chair.
2. Follow up with the actual doctor . After surgery you want to meet with your actual Surgeon, not a Nurse Practitioner or CNA. I trusted you with my body/life . He is extremely busy I get it , but I definitely think he should make it a point to meet with everyone he has worked on even if only once. And not just push you on some one else.
3. “Real” meeting prior to surgery. Yes I met with the Doctor once before surgery; but as previously mentioned the meeting from start to finish was MAYBE 4 minutes! He came in , went over what procedure I was having, had me stand up and did a test to see if I could tolerate local anesthesia (squeeze parts of my stomach) and said okay see you on surgery day. It was super rushed, and impersonal .
4. The facility is run like a Chop Shop/ assembly line. The office is jam packed any time of the day , it’s in a commercial plaza with restaurants and business offices so people are wheeled out from surgery, walking around with drains hanging and bloody garment feet away from a Real Estate office. No matter what time your “appointment” is you will be waiting to be seen
5. Not many Fluent English Speakers . (Not really a deal breaker for me because I live in Miami so I get it ) but it is kind of difficult when trying to understand such sensitive information such as medical Information from someone who does not speak very much English. They make a very good effort, just can be confusing at times when they are unsure how to communicate effectively in English. Just something to consider if that may be a problem for you.
Overall I am pleased with my results but I probably wouldn’t have another procedure done with him or recommend anyone to him. It simply depends on what matters to you. If your only about results and don’t care for the process then he may work for you.
