I’m still experiencing lots of inflammation and swelling after 4 weeks which is expected. I’m slowly seeing the changes in my body every week since surgery and sometimes I get inpatient to see a more drastic change but I have to remember to let things progress naturally.
I’ve had 10 post op massages total since the surgery. I get my lymphatic massages done in Philadelphia at Magaly Spa. Very affordable and my therapist Keiko is very good. The massages are uncomfortable during but they do make a difference in contouring your body. I’ve had a carboxy treatment which helps with any hardening or swelling you may have after lipo.
I still have to remember that eating salty foods will make the swelling worse and to drink lots of fluids preferably water.

The bruising appeared on day 2 and I’m more sore on day 2 than day 1. My incision sites are draining more fluid also on day 2 thanks to the massages. Even though I paid for 5 massages at Avana I only got 3 because they were overbooked. They wanted me to wait 4 days for a massage which was unacceptable because I was so swollen and since Dr. Kagan did not use a drain I needed this fluid out of me. I ended up going to Sapphire After Lipo Therapy in Miami. They took me right away and I was able to get 2 post op massages done on Friday and Saturday. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND getting your post op massages at Avana. Definitely set up your lymphatic massages elsewhere while in Miami.
