Consultation review - I politely chose not to go on with the surgery at this time

I was preliminarily booked in for surgery after message exchanges with his agent Murat (who is also his brother). I had a date set for the pre-tests and possible surgery depending on how the consultation goes (which was all discussed prior). When I arrived in Turkey I messaged Murat to confirm what time I should be arriving at the hospital for my pre-operative tests as he seemed to have forgotten about me. On arrival, the hospital had zero records of me and there was no surgery booked for me for the following day. They had me waiting around for over an hour whilst they tried to scram medical staff around to do my pre-operative tests. I then had to wait another hour for Dr Karaaltin for my consultation. I guess he was nice enough and explained the procedure well. It was very clearly communicated by Dr Karaaltin and Murat at first and during the consultation that if I chose not to go ahead with the surgery they would be totally ok with this as they understood how big of a decision it was. However, during the consultation, I started to feel unsure and pressured into going ahead with the surgery and this made me feel uneasy. I did plenty of reading and research to know what ideal weight range I should be in for the best result (and also as a Chartered Engineer myself I understand the science behind this guidance). Dr Karaaltin did not agree and tried to say that my weight was fine, (I was 28 lbs overweight) but this attitude is what made me sure I did not want to go ahead. I politely chose not to go on with the surgery at this time and I was still happy to pay the £500 originally agreed for the pre-op tests and consultation.

However, Murat was very aggressive and rude about my decision and demanded that I pay him £885 cash after an apparent discount of £1000. I ended up paying as he threatened to restrain me and my family until we paid up. Absolute nightmare and I would never recommend such money-hungry people to anyone. Murat was raising his voice and we left extremely traumatised.
