1 Week Post Op!
So it’s been one week now since I had BBL and my implants changed, so here’s my update so far:
I travelled to Istanbul on 15th August and was picked up at the airport. I had to do a Covid test whilst there and then after that was taken to the BHT clinic (where the operations are performed) to get my bloods taken and chest X-ray. After this I was driven to the hotel (Crown Plaza Floyra) which was super nice and by the sea. It is right next to a shopping mall which was good for gifts and I also went to the Grand Bazaar which was around 20 mins by taxi.
So on the day of my op I was picked up at 6am and taken to the clinic. I got settled in my room and Dr Serkan and Esra his assistant came to see me at 8am. We talked about the ops and he marked me up. He was really nice and made me feel reassured that everything would be ok as I came alone and was nervous!
After surgery the nurses came to check on me often in my room and although there was a language barrier, I was well cared for and brought everything I needed! I would highly recommend getting a phone package prior to going as the internet was not working on my floor and I had to keep turning my data/data roaming on.
They bring you breakfast, lunch and dinner and I enjoyed the food.
I had two nights in hospital and then a check up with Dr Balta before leaving for the hotel. My breasts and body looked really good already and I was very happy!
On the fourth day after the surgery you are brought back to the clinic to have the drains taken out and had my first massage with Esra. The day after, I went back to the clinic and had another massage and a final check up with the surgeon.
I will post pics soon when I have healed more but I’m really happy I chose Best Clinic and the team are lovely and professional!

Best Clinic Istanbul - Serkan Balta 17th August
After a good year of intense researching, reading soo many reviews for various surgeons, spending countless hours on every conceivable facebook surgery group going, then making a decision then changing my mind and going back and forth with my choices, it has been a bit of a journey, but I have FINALLY decided to go with Dr Serkan Balta through his own clinic Best Clinic Istanbul. His work looks really good, he is well know for performing BBL surgeries and I have seen many previous patients photos and reviews. He also only does two maximum three surgeries per day and when someone is having a combined surgery, he will just focus on them. I was previously going with Dr Serbulent SG Clinic but was put off by the amount of surgeries he does in a day. I have heard many people say that he is overworked and I felt this was a risk I didn’t want to take.
So I have booked my flights with Turkish Airlines and started my packing already!! I fly out 15th August and will be having a BBL and breast implant change costing 6,000 euro, with two nights in hospital and the rest of the time in Elite World Europe hotel (5 stars) In my case so far:Wipes - all types (face, body, intimate) Shewee, vitamin C tablets for immune system, iron tablets to support blood loss (both I have started taking already to support my body through the surgery) protein bars to assist recovery, compression stockings, loose dresses with buttons at the front, button through pjs, Macom bra, Columbian Faja, 360 lipo vest and ab board from Contour Fajas, arnica tablets and cream and..TBC

Hey, that’s awesome! Whilst there is risks with every surgery, Serkan Balta makes BBLs safer by only injecting fat above the muscles in the subcutaneous tissue. It is dangerous if injected in the muscle and can cause fat embolism. They supply the garments and they told me they supply the foams too, but I assumed they would be the sheet foams and I prefer the jacket type as it gives equal compression and doesn’t move inside the Faja. I also bought a garment as when it needs washing I will have another to change into! I asked Esra if there was anything I needed to bring especially and she did say have a look for an abdominal board. It will prevent creases. Wishing you both the best of luck with your surgery x
Hi! I am so glad your experience was great! I actually just booked a date with Dr Balta But they are saying my payment is due day of surgery in cash. Did you pay this way? I just want to see what other people are experiencing because I think it's a little bit shady to carry that much cash across international borders:(
Hi! Yes I also paid in cash on the day. This method is pretty standard for all plastic surgery places in Turkey. You also can carry up to £10000 GBP without having to declare it so don't worry
Thank you Emily! I appreciate your answer gives me more peace of mind

I see your list for what your packing and taking out with you. Do you recommend taking out an board and back lumbar for the post op. I’ve been told by the dr that they supply the compression garment. Is that what a 360 lipo vest is that you’ve ordered? Nice to know someone on here that going around the same time as men I’ve done a lot of research myself.
