BBL - He Ruined my Thighs
I had surgery in Spring 2022. I wrote this review a while back but I have been too upset to post it now that I’m getting my body fixed elsewhere I feel ready to share it.
If you want quality work done do not go here. He advertises as fixing botched work but I am paying to go elsewhere now since he botched me.
The surgery was just under $25k. The invoice I screenshotted was after I paid a $4k deposit.
I chose Dr Plant because my first choice for a surgeon was only doing virtual consults. That was a mistake.
At my consult he was very warm and kind. I showed him wish pics and he confidently told me that he could deliver what I wanted. He said that I didn’t have enough fat to only do Lipo 360 so he would have to take it from my arms and legs as well.
I never wanted my thighs liposuctioned because they were the one part of my body I never had an issue with.
It is interesting that Dr. Plant advised me to gain weight for surgery but then did not liposuction the areas I wanted and over did it on my leg.
Dr Plant’s office has very slow response times. Both while he was at clinic 360 and now that he has moved on.
I was very clear about my expectations. On the day of surgery, I brought a vision board with photos of results that I liked as well as a bulleted list of things I wanted done. “Please lipo all my back fat” was one of the things listed on my board. We went over the bulleted list as he was drawing on me to mark me up for surgery. I was also very clear about wanting
I remember that morning clearly. I was very nervous and I was the first person up for surgery. “Are you sure you aren’t hung over?”, I joked to Dr Plant. “No worse than usual”, he joked back.
I felt as confident as I could since I had made my expectations so clear.
Post Surgery
I woke up and the nurse Claire was with me. She was so sweet. I was super out of it but she was really nice. She told me she was putting fetanyl in my IV. I was shocked but it was great because I felt no pain.
I had liposuction done to my back, stomach, abdomen, arms and legs. The post surgical instructions said that fluid coming out of your wounds after surgery was normal and it was just the lipo fluid and it might be a bit pink, tinged with blood but not to worry unless it was bright red.
Well my elbows would not stop bleeding. Bright red. My mom changed the bandages twice and they were soaked through. My mom became upset and started wondering if we should go to the Emergency Room. I told her no because we were in the middle of a Covid surge so I didn’t want to go there. I said I’ll call the direct after hours line for Dr. Plant that they give you in case there is a complication the night of surgery.
I called the number and he did NOT answer. I left a message. It was only around 7:30 pm so it’s not like he was in bed. I know it was 7:30 since I sent a text message to follow up (screenshot is attached).
I never received a response from him. It was such a slap in the face. Like now that you have my $25,000, you don’t care about the after care?
The next day I called and had a hard time getting through. My legs were massively swollen to double their normal size. Like painful hard tree trunks.
I had done so much research before surgery and at my consult I had specifically asked him about compression socks because all the research I had done said these were important. He said he only uses them sometimes.
Well surgery day came and he opted not to use them on me when I was having leg lipo? That was ridiculous. My legs doubled in size and were so painful. They were swollen to the point of bursting. I ordered some compression socks on Amazon that came a few days later and when I put them on I kept peeing clear fluid since it was the swelling being forced out of my body.
He sent me home without drains or proper compression, I as not in a faja:bodysuit, just a waist wrap. So the swelling just filled my whole body.
The entire time my right leg was more swollen and more sore than my left leg. So I knew something was different with my right leg. I emailed them photos of how my legs used to look to show them how massive they had gotten. They moved up my one week post op appointment to Thursday (surgery had been on Monday). When he saw me he said everything was fine and said it was good that I got compression socks. Excuse me? Why didn’t you put me in them in the first place then?
I ended up with a seroma on my lower belly that I repeatedly had to get drained elsewhere due to not having proper compression. This has left me with a line/extra crease on my lower abdomen that wasn’t there before (picture attached).
At my 6 week post op appointment he cancelled my 3 month appointment saying it wasn’t necessary unless I had any concerns…
At around 3.5 months I noticed that my right leg was dented. As the swelling settled it became more obvious. There is about 5 cm of a dent in my right leg starting at my inner thigh and coming to the front of the leg. That is why my right leg got more swollen than the left. Both legs are dented but the right one is much worse.
In addition to not liposuctioning my back very aggressively he also did not lipo my love handles. My butt is ok. It’s a bit on the boxy, square side.
Traditionally you lipo a leg by making an incision at the knee or upper thigh near the groin. He lipod my leg by making an incision in my pubic hair above my crotch and going all the way to the thigh that way. I consulted with more than one surgeon after who said they would not have done thigh lipo like that.
The summary of what was bad
- didn’t answer his direct line at 7:30pm the night of surgery even though it was for emergencies and my elbows were bleeding profusely from arm lipo. Basically had my $25K and wrote me off. His aftercare is terrible.
- Encouraged liposuction to as many areas as possible since he charges per area, then did not lipo my back fat but was very aggressive on my leg, leaving it deformed
- Did not put me in proper compression following surgery
- His attitude changes once the surgery is over with
When I saw him at my 6 month appointment I requested a refund at least for the leg lipo since he had ruined my thighs. He was arrogant and rude and became pretty upset because I used the word botched. I also told him I didn’t appreciate the post op care and how he did answer the phone when I called the night of my surgery. I left a voice mail and I texted. And he never responded. He blamed this on rogers! Omg seriously?! The surgery was in April, not during the Rogers shut down in the summer…
I’m too young to cover up my legs for the rest of my life. His surgery left me with dented thighs and a lot of insecurity.
The pictures speak for themselves. He botched my leg. I don’t recommend him.
