Office review: BBL with Dr Salama

I scheduled a bbl with Dr Salama 3-4 months ago. I booked with Cynthia who by the way may I say is fabulous!! Despite my current frustration, consternation and disappointment with Dr Salama, I loved Cynthia. Very professional and caring. Anyway, I had an anesthesia complication whereas I can only have certain types of anesthesias. Dr Salama was aware of this. He and his anesthesiologist waited until last week and then canceled my surgery which was scheduled for mid October. He left me high and dry. I had non refundable plane tickets, hotel, etc. I'd much rather he had told me months ago that he wouldn't do my surgery. Instead they collected my $750 deposit and then canceled my surgery one month before simply because there are only certain anesthesia I can have, many of which any reputable surgeon would have on hand. I am allergic to succinylcholine anesthesia; but there are several other substitute anesthetic I can have. What I gather from him and perhaps many of these doctors is that they want to schedule many "simple, straightforward" cases that do not require any "challenges." Why bother with my bbl if I need select anesthesia when you can simply cancel me and book Jane Doe who has no concerns and collect her money along with 4 or 5 others and then jam pack all of these surgeries in one day. It's sad because with the explosion of plastic surgery, many of these doctors don't care about their patients. There is no customization, no care or consideration. Just getting money and performing many surgeries and then moving on to the next. It's sad. But thankfully my hairdresser who is from the DR recommended her surgeon that did her BBL; she said he is 100% about safety and patient care; she said she would not let any other doctor in the DR touch her because they are not about safety or patient care. The doctor she recommended to me does only 2 surgeries per day and spends 4-6 hours on each patient. Takes his time and keeps his patients overnight for observation at the surgical center along with 15 day waiting period in the DR for 5 follow up visits and 10 massages at his facility. I thank God I found this doctor and he was very agreeable to using the anesthesias that are safe for me. Ladies, just be mindful of your care while you search for doctors. The ones with all the reviews and hundreds, thousands of customers, many of them could care less about you. We are just a quick buck and an instagram like. I'm glad Dr Salama canceled my surgery because I found someone better, who is more caring and willing to work with me to help me safely achieve my surgery results. I'm off to DR for surgery Nov 2.
