Rough recovery!!! I've had a breast implant sx before a few years ago and that was cake compared to this procedure. Holy cow the discomfort of not being able to lay on your back and having to keep this garment on is no joke!!! I was originally not qualified for the BBL but after they started sucking my fat out dr j decided i had enough fat to do fat transfer which I was super stoked about when I woke up. It was originally 14900 and got a refund for not doing the implants. I got 2000 ccs taken out 725 in each cheek and 200 in each hip. The staff was mostly all friendly but my favorite was the nurse anesthetist whose name escapes me right now and his nurse geeta. I had a ton of anxiety before going into surgery but everybody was so helpful in helping me calm down. The only downside is that they woke me up and made me go home... which is what I've always experienced at surgery centers.
If you are generally athletic you should be fine... however if you're a weakling like me get yourself in the gym about a month prior to the surgery because you're going to need the strength to pull and push yourself up and down out of bed. My husband laughed at me the whole time but when you're in that much pain you don't find it funny. I don't remember the ride home which was about two and a half hours away... and I am currently on post op day 4 and am finally able to get in and out of bed by myself. First two days were very sore and I had some severe nausea from the anesthesia which was relieved by zofran. I stopped taking my hydrocodone on post op day two and substituted with Tylenol. On post op day three I drank a third of magnesium citrate and a few hours later I had my first post op bm with zero problems. I had very little soiling of my wound sites after the first day. I changed my dressings on the second day which was absolutely horrible due to the garment pain. I'm on post op day four and I'm still having some weakness and lightheadedness but overall feeling much more like myself. I don't EVER take narcotics so it's expected for me to feel this way. Don't underestimate the pain and make sure you absolutely have someone to help you for the first two days. I would've not made it if it weren't for my husband.
