I am so happy to have found this website! Reading...

I am so happy to have found this website! Reading everyone's stories has helped to calm my nerves a bit and is helping me to not back out. A not-so-different story, I began developing at the age of 9, way ahead of everyone else. By the time I was in 7th grade the boys had nicknamed me "Chesty Jr." and "Jugs." My boobs were always big but after having my son, they never went back to a normal size. I am now 48 years old and in a size 38DD. I can lose weight and they never seem to go anywhere...except south! I have almost constant neck pain and headaches. I started thinking seriously about a reduction about a year ago. Now it is 5 weeks away! I am excited but scared at the same time. The pictures of the bruising and the "holes" have me scared to death! So it's the testimonials here that encourage me to move forward and have this done. Thank you to everyone who has posted and continues to post after their surgery. I hope my story will encourage someone too. = ) I will continue to post over the next several weeks before my surgery date and afterwards.

From confident and excited, to scared to death, several times a day!

My moods shift so often about this surgery. I'm going to be an emotional train wreck by the time September 18 rolls around! I just want to fast forward to being recovered and enjoying my new bra size with no neck pain or headaches! This waiting is soooo hard! Went to Walmart today and looked at C bras. Was I ever that small? Haha. I know I was as some point but I feel like I've been huge forever! I looked at the front closure bras for after surgery but I don't know what size to get. If I'm a 38, should I get a 40...42...44? I am hoping to return to the office after just 1 week. Is that realistic? Has anyone else gone back to work that soon after surgery? My doctor suggests 2 weeks but I don't have that much vacation time. I appreciate any advice. = )

Blood Thinner

I take a blood thinner on a daily basis and my doctor says I have to be off of it until at least a week after surgery. I'm a little nervous about that since clotting can be so common after surgery. Then again, with so much incision I wouldn't want to encourage any bleeding. Anyone have a similar situation?
