Twenty years ago I went to a plastic surgeon in North Carolina. I had three children and my youngest was 4 years old. I became familiar with the procedure and started trying to put some money aside. Despite my eagerness and excitement for this Tummy Tuck procedure, the experiences, trials and tribulations of life would continue to take precedence until finally I decided no more. In August of 2017, now living in Colorado, I chose 2 surgeons to interview. My choices were based on reviews, pictures and the doctor's website. The doctor I didn't choose for the procedure was located on the south side of Denver and was $4000-$5000 more expensive. Other than those points I felt the information I had on both doctors was reasonably equal. I chose Dr. Swail because the location was more convenient to where I live, the price was a little bit less and April, my contact in the office was very personable, respectful and timely in her replies to my questions. I also felt that Dr. Swail confidently answered all my questions and outlined a clear plan for the surgery.
The day of my surgery arrived and I was both very excited and very nervous. The staff couldn't have been more kind and understanding. They spoke kindly and gently with me which absolutely made a difference. My procedure went very well. I was sent home with everything I would need to care for my wound including the phone number of the medical assistant to call if there were any questions. I also left with dates scheduled for after care appointments.
In the weeks and months that followed my healing continued and progressed. I have been very pleased with the aftercare I have received. April has continued to be a welcoming voice on the phone and in the office, fielding any questions and helping as much as possible. Zulema (I hope my spelling is correct) has shown great care in helping to tend to my wound/scar. She has always made sure that I was comfortable in the appointment especially in offering a blanket or water. Kelsey has easily gone above and beyond all expectations that I have had. I am so grateful that she is available in the office and by phone for any questions and concerns. She has been very compassionate in listening and understanding the questions, concerns, changes and realizations that go along with a procedure that has done so much to change my life. For me this Tummy Tuck has provided such a noticeable physical change but also an emotional relief as well as a big exhale to finally feeling like myself again after waiting 2 decades. In short, there are some great things I'm getting used to again and Kelsey has been a great support emotionally and medically.
I have been very pleased with my choice of Dr. Swail as my plastic surgeon. It is easy to see that he has an extensive amount of experience in plastic surgery and he was well acquainted with my procedure and the personal details of my case. I have appreciated his compassion for understanding how it feels to be on my side of the procedure and I feel that I have been in very capable hands. Since my surgery I have recently looked at pictures of other tummy tuck results done by different doctors. Its very nice to say that my new belly button is much prettier than many others I've seen. By that I mean that Dr Swail's skill in stitching is clearly above that of many others. My belly button and my scar were obviously very carefully stitched and that's very important to me. Before my procedure I didn't consider too much the amount of variation in skill level of a plastic surgeon. So lucky for me, I picked a surgeon who excels in this. I highly recommend Dr. Swail to anyone considering a Tummy Tuck because he does such beautiful work and he takes pride in the outcome that will help you look your best.
I had revisions done to the ends of my scar 6 weeks ago. It is currently almost 5 months since my big procedure. I am still being seen as part of my recovery. I am very pleased about this. My Tummy Tuck was a big procedure and it has been very comforting to know that my doctor didn't rush me out the door and move to the next patient. Thank you for taking the time to help me heal and return to wellness.
It is hard to say thank you enough to Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery for the great experience that this has been. I highly recommend them for any procedure one might be considering. If I decide to have anymore plastic surgery myself I will absolutely choose to have it done here.
