Dr. Swail and his staff are fantastic and have the perfect blend of medical science and human empathy to help patients make the right decisions and understand everything from the proceedure through the healing process. I originally had consult appointments with four surgeons, but cancelled the other three after meeting with Dr. Swail. I was able to meet with him months before anyone else had availability, which was a big plus (when the receptionist told me I could get a date the same month I called I even asked "of this year?"). I asked why and was told that because they do all of their procedures in-house and don't share a surgery center they don't have to deal with triage which is a great benefit during a pandemic! Dr. Swail answered all of my questions at the consult, and helped me decide what all I wanted done without any pressure. I wanted to get rid of some extra breast tissue in my arm pits and initially thought that would be resolved with a breast lift, but after talking about what I was looking for he told me that I didn't need a breast lift to get that done and he could just excise it, which was less money and had the result I was really looking for. I also appreciated how clear he was about scars - where they would be and what they would look like - to help me decide which procedures were right for me. I never felt rushed or pressured to make any decisions. In the end we landed on a full tummy tuck with diastasis recti repair, flank lipo, and the breast tissue excision. I'm about a week and a half post surgery and can't recommend Dr. Swail and his staff highly enough! I feel like there is a review about the experience with the doctor and then the personal experience with healing. I'm going to separate those a bit, but will say here that through this whole process Dr. Swail, his surgical nurse Dianne, the anesthesiologist, and all of the office and attending staff have been fantastic, attentive, and focused on my comfort and healing. It's been a great experience! Updated on 25 Jun 2022: As I mentioned in my first review, I want to separate the doctor review with my personal healing experience. Of course they are related, but there are things I planned for that might help others, and things I wish I knew going into this. My BFF teased me that I prepared for this surgery like it was a baby, and she wasn't wrong! Except this time the onesies were mine. There are some things I bought that really helped with recovery, which are listed below. Just know that the first week is rough, even with the best care. It's weird to see your body changed so much, the adhesive (at least for me) is itchy and irritating, and you're just exhausted and can't stand straight. My back hurt from carrying me around more than it's used to, and the whole bowel situation is no fun even with laxatives and eating soft foods. It does get a LOT better after the first week, and hopefully it's all upside from here. Here are the things I purchased that have helped me in recovery so far. Most people talk about the recliner chair, but a lot of little details have been really helpful for me. Essential (to me) Purchases: Comfy pullover nightgowns with buttons and pockets for drains. The ones I got are Ekouaer Short Sleeve Button Down Nightshirt with Pockets. They are super soft! They might not last forever, but they don’t really have to. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087D1TGNZ?ref_cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_B4T92Y81K5YNWQ0DS0P ) Wedge Pillows (even if you get a recliner these are a good backup and extra support). I got this set: Luxone 5pcs Adjustable System with Leg Elevation Pillow (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093BQJWL7?ref_cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_QM4W95W1PHYN0EQKSXSZ) Compression Socks - I was sent home with a pair, but nice to have a variety Leg Compression Massager. Like this one: Foot and Leg Massager With Heat, Air Compression for Circulation - turns out I was actually provided a cordless/chargeable set which has been great! (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CXN8QF2?ref_cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_K4CD3Y60E7CKGEV1M94N) No Water Shampoo Caps - didn’t end up using these, but they aren’t a bad idea and will keep them around for the future. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KYD2VQH?ref_cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_EFBHZBMTS12TYE89T2D) - Meal Prep/Freeze containers so I could cook and freeze food for my family before I’m no longer cooking for anyone Soft front-closure bras - though I didn’t really bother with bras while home Timer caps - these caps tell you when the last time you opened the bottle was. These have been super helpful keeping track of pain meds. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EZ6TL2S?ref_cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_GS1GW318HG18F76224VH) Shower seat (already had this) Walker borrowed from a family member. This was SO helpful the first week when I couldn't stand up. Really helped keep the strain off my back. Extras/Luxuries A recliner (you can rent or borrow these if you don’t already have one), and a waterproof cover. I’m sure I’ll be clumsy. I did get a lift recliner, which was nice the first week but I don't need it much any more. Eye and face masks to help me relax Long Handled back scrubber A nugget ice maker. I know, but it is helping me drink plenty of water. Some are not Opal expensive and have great reviews like this Aremor (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NQMTGPZ?ref_cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_Y490NN6Q1YE0SD64XQ03) Other things I made sure of: I had a 90 day supply of all medications We had a 90 day supply of pet food Kids have passes to water parks and museums so they have something normal to do besides bringing me water (they are teenagers, so this might not help everyone, but if you can get other people to help take your kids places that seems like the best way to rest!) So far those are the things that have made the first almost two weeks. I'm up a lot more now but it was great that first week not worrying about anything. Hope this is helpful to others! Updated on 1 Jul 2022: Just a little over 2 weeks now. Had my check up and transitioned from the steri strips to the blue silicon, small milestones. Everything is healing well and the swelling I'm experiencing is totally normal. My arm pits have been raw from the adhesive, which is annoying, and I feel like the nerves on my abdomen are firing back up or something because I have more pain and irritation than before, but more on the surface of my skin than muscular. While I was advised by the nurse to just have a soft tank top between me and the compression garment, I did try some lipo foam to see if that was somehow better. I definitely had less lines (you can see the outline of the foam on my belly vs the garment lines on my sides in the pictures) but I also wonder if it was too much. I used it one day and didn't use it another and the surface irritation seems to be the same. For the arm pits I have tried petroleum jelly, aloe, a moisturizing deodorant, gold bond chafe guard, and some "butt'r" that my cycling friends use and none of it seems to be working. I may try baby oil next. I had laser hair removal so it could also just be there is no hair to provide a barrier... I don't know but I hope it gets better soon! Also as you can tell I definitely have the dog ears, and will get those revised in 2-3 months. I finally remembered to weigh myself just to see what changed and my scale app gave me a huge side eye. I lost 12 lbs with the surgery (and maybe not eating a ton the last two weeks) and am really only 5lbs away from my goal weight. I look forward to working out, but my hips are still not loving how much of my weight they carry being so hunched over still so I haven't tried walking much farther than to get the mail. I took a nap in my bed propped up with pillows, but I'm still too tight to really sleep on it, and definitely not on my side. I'm thinking another week or so in the recliner. I miss my bed! I took four weeks off work and I'm so glad I was able to! Hopefully by then I will be mostly upright, sleeping in my bed, and able to do a little more walking. I'm also very fortunate that I will be able to work from home most of the time when I do return. Updated on 16 Jul 2022: Monday will be 5 weeks. I can walk a few blocks now, stand up *almost* straight, and have a lot less swelling, but do still have some. Using the silicone tape only, and still in my compression garment 24x7 except when showering. One of the less pleasant things is that the nerves on my abdomen have been waking up, which feels weird and kind of itchy. Other than that there is still tightness and while I am happily sleeping in my bed, it takes me a while to move. I tried a few things on that I have hated wearing, and I'm SO happy with how I look and know it will only get better! Updated on 15 Sep 2022: So I'm actually at 13 weeks now, but these are the last decent pictures I took (about 2 weeks ago, so these are around 11 weeks). I can now move however I like, sleep most nights without compression, and have started exercising more regularly. I still have some bloating, but overall I LOVE the way I look, especially in clothes. I knew I would still have stretch marks, so they don't bother me. I like the way my scar is healing and my belly button is looking a little more buttony. The dog ears are really the worst thing right now, appearance wise, and sometimes I wear a compression garment just so they don't poke out. My revision is scheduled for mid-October after some travel. I feel like this period is when it's crucial to focus on health and exercise so I don't put on weight and "ruin" what I so intentionally went through. I'm not looking to give myself an unhealthy obsession with food or exercise, so it's a balance, but I want to look this good or better for a long time! The area around the ablation is still numb, and it's still annoying that it will itch, but I can't feel myself scratch at all so it does no good and I just have to cope. It also still feels very hard, while my upper abs are soft. I plan to talk to Dr Swail about making sure they stay balanced and my upper abs don't start sticking out as I occasionally have seen happen to others. I haven't done much shopping yet and am waiting until after the revision, but my clothes fit even more differently than I expected. Things I thought would just look good look baggy, and even my old smaller pants are a bit loose. I look forward to the future shopping spree, but thought I would have more things in my closet that I could wear. First World Problem for sure! Updated on 24 Oct 2022: Had my dog ears revision on 10/20. I opted to take a light sedative to help with nerves but I'm not even sure I needed it. It was so quick and easy. Most of the time Dr. Swail, the attending nurse, and I chatted about recent travel and Halloween events. The initial local anesthesia was only slightly pinchy, and while there was a spot I could always feel a little bit it wasn't bad enough to want to pause or get more injected. Because I was a bit groggy I'm not entirely sure how long it took, but it really felt like less than an hour. As you can see in the pictures even though they are relatively small incisions you are still pretty well padded to protect them from bumps and friction. I've decided to sleep another week in the recliner so that I'm not tempted to sleep on my side and cause any trauma, and have kept ice packs on them as much as possible. I'm glad to be in this last phase - another round of tape, no submersion, etc. and then I can focus on what's next. Before this period of rest I did some heavy exercise and I am SO impressed with how well my abs work. My hips are more balanced, my knee pain is virtually gone. This is really life changing in so many ways. Excited for the next phase of health and wellness with this newfound strength! Updated on 27 Jan 2023: Had the dog ear revision in October and while there is still some swelling the incisions look great and I feel super confident they will only look better with time. Because even after swelling, looking lumpy and weird sometimes, and still not exercising as much as I would like I LOVE my waist and tummy. This is absolutely the result I was hoping for and I know it will get even better as I ramp up my workouts. The scars in my arms from the breast tissue excision are so faint now. I bet by summer I won't really even see them. The recovery from that was annoying and itchy, but I love wearing tank tops now, so summer can't come soon enough!
I just started my journey to new boobies! I recently had my last pre-op at the office to finalize sizing. I’m now 10 days out from surgery. I’m both really excited and nervous. I keep giving my boobies little pep talks to get them extra excited too! Haha Updated on 25 May 2021: I did 295cc medium/high profile silicone, under the muscle and went through my breast fold. I was a small very deflated A cup and I will be on the bigger side of a C cup once they drop into place ???? I had my surgery yesterday and it went amazing. I went with general anesthesia and was a little worried about going completely under. My anesthesiologist and nurses were amazing. First thing I did was look down and try to catch a glimpse lol l I’m going in this afternoon for my day after checkup and will hopefully be able to peep the new boobies. Updated on 8 Jun 2021: Hiiii I’m Olive, I’m 5’2. Athletic/Slim build. I flux between 115lbs and 120lbs. I did 295cc medium/high profile silicone, under the muscle and went through my breast fold. I was a small very deflated A cup and I will be on the bigger side of a C cup once they drop into place. Updated on 8 Jun 2021: Day 2: LOTS of icing. Lots and lots of icing lol. Went to see my surgeon for my post op, and everything is looking good. Moving around, walking, sitting up….definitely isn’t comfortable, so muscle relaxers, pain meds and movies it is. As long as I am just sitting, I am comfortable. Updated on 8 Jun 2021: I know it’s a lot of little videos. I apologize lol I am still bloated. It’s a bit uncomfortable and I’m pretty sore. More sore in my arm pits than anything. Still icing. My muscles tense up and it is a CRAZY feeling, like a muscle cramp but in your bitties lol I also gave myself a boobie brain freeze…yes that’s right brain freeze in the boobie and holy moly. Hahahaha that was a wee painful lol only happened once, thank heaven! Updated on 8 Jun 2021: Feeling good! Everyday they feel better and look better. Still sore and sleeping on my back has been difficult to say the least….I just wanna sleep on my sideeeeeeeeee. It’s been decided that the band to stabilize and lowery breasts is the devil. Lol just kidding but it really does hurt a bit at times. My nipples getting hard and being sensitive after 12 years of being numb is WEIRD. Holy moly. And when they get hard you feel the wave of hardness go throughout your whole boob lol I do get pins and needles feeling like when I nursed (the milk let down, even at times similar to mastitis) but goes away. My range of motion is tight and stiff. They feel so heavy hahaha like I have weights hanging from my meat suit. Lol but they look AMAZING. I love them so much. Updated on 8 Jun 2021: Well I went in a day early in accident and they were doing so good he took my stitches out, and I even got the all clear to go back to the gym! Strict instructions to NOT over do it and to keep my upper body still. So of course I went right for the bench presses! Just kidding I went in did 2 very light leg machines, rode the bike, tanned and left within 45 minutes lol I was pooped and NOT about to put in even a half ass workout hahaha but felt good to get out! They still feel heavy and tender, pushing or pulling doors feels weird lol I brought up that I would get this popping sound, almost like rice crispy sound/feeling under/in my arm pit area and was assured that’s normal. It did end up going away within about a day. Nipples getting hard is still uncomfortable lol my muscles do still feel tense, but relaxing more and more, and they are beginning to feel less heavy. :) Updated on 8 Jun 2021: Feeling absolutely amazing!!! Today was the first day I really felt good. No pain (besides the pain in the ass it is to sleep at night lol) I’m lightly sore to the touch in my arm pits along that main tendon next to your breast. They settle and look more natural every day. No more muscle cramps! No more painful hard nipples! lol I have my full range of motion back!!!!! Hahaha pulling things up that are up high, like the shower curtain, still feels a little tough but getting easier everyday. They don’t feel heavy anymore when I’m not wearing a bra. I’ll try and be bette at posting real time updates from now on. Happy healing and happy boobies everyone!
I Highly recommended Dr. Swail. He and the Staff were terrific. My BA results are much BETTER than I could have imagined! 6 weeks post-op, I Can’t wait to see how the results continue improving. Thank you Dr. Swail
I am TT with lipo of hips and flanks done and have always been a little self-conscience of my double chin. During my pre-op for my TT, I asked him to look at my neck for lipo. He said I have very little fat, it is mostly loose skin. The difference wouldn’t be drastic or anything. He was so honest and I felt like he wasn’t trying to push me into getting it so he could make more money. He said he could lipo a little and hopefully the scaring would help with the loose skin. He gave me a good price on it since I was already getting the other procedures. I went ahead and added it on, because I’m willing to try and I’ll take any results I get. I went in knowing it won’t be a huge difference. Updated on 20 Jan 2021: This is the picture of the wrap around my head. It isn’t very uncomfortable but I can’t open my mouth too far so brushing my teeth and eating is a challenge. I’m not too hungry though, so it isn’t a huge deal. I only had to wear it all day for 2 days; today, after my post op follow up, I transition to only having to wear it at bedtime. There is no pain, just a little soreness when I touch it. Updated on 20 Jan 2021: Wow!! Just plain wow!! I am so impressed by my neck! I didn’t have such high expectations but it really looks amazing, and this is even me laying down! Dr. Swail is the best!! His nurse is amazing too! I’m so excited to see what it will look like after the swelling! Updated on 22 Jan 2021: I’m feeling good! I have some bruising and swelling, but that is to be expected. I can’t wait for the swelling to go down! You can’t see the scar from the lipo tube at all! It closed up with just the bandaid! I don’t wear the neck brace all the time anymore. For that, I’m grateful. It is really difficult to chew, brush teeth, etc with it on. Updated on 20 Mar 2021: I’m so glad I did this!! I have a jawline, my circle face is disappearing along with my double chin. I am so happy with my results!! I do have a few little hard spots from the lipo, but they seam to be going away and I have no scar from where the cannula was inserted!!
I’ve never been a skinny girl, but when I started getting pregnant, it changed my body in ways I would have never imagined. I was healthy, loved to exercise, dance, and be active. Once the babies started coming though, things changed. The hubby was in school full time, working full time, and then came grad school. I stopped focusing on myself and my only focus became my children and supporting my husband. I had 4 live births, all via c-section in 5 years. Now that my youngest is 6 (turning 7 in a few months) we decided it was time for us to do something for me. I have been loosing weight for 3 years now and have lost 50+ lbs since the heaviest I’ve been, which was 210lbs. I work out and eat healthy still. I started researching many different doctors and decided to go to Mexico for my procedure. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt about it though. I had a couple other consultations locally and finally found Dr. Swail and Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery on here. I called them, and had an in person consultation, which was amazing!! He was so personable and kind. My favorite was when he saw my tummy and said, “Oh this is going to be fun! You are going to have a flat tummy!” He told me I had some loose skin that would probably never bounce back and a little fat still, but that my transformation would be amazing. I was so excited!! After talking with my husband, we decided to go for it. I of course cried because it was something that I had wanted for such a long time and was grateful that he (hubby) could see how much it meant to me. I am doing this for me, not for anyone else, not to show off my body, but so that I can feel good about my body again. I called and we scheduled my operation for Feb 12! (My consultation was Dec. 11, 2020). I paid $500 over the phone to secure my date. A couple days later I got a call saying they had a cancellation and Jan 18, had opened up. I was so excited because I got to move up my date! Woohoo!!! Okay, enough for this post. Next post will be my pre-op appointment and pre surgery pictures! Updated on 17 Jan 2021: Seriously in love with Dr. Swail and his staff!! I went to my pre-op visit and they were so great! The payment process was smooth and I loved their cash/check discount that they give. I went back to speak with the nurse and listened intently as she went over all the details. The doctor came in and we talked about possible neck lipo as well. (That will be a different review.) The nurse was so knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. I had made a huge list of questions and I asked her if I could ask her the questions and whatever she didn’t know the answer to, we would ask the doctor. Well, she ended up knowing all the answers! She took her time to listen to me and not make me feel rushed, even though it made my appointment ran long. We were able to set up the next couple weeks of follow up visits, which was perfect, so that we could find rides for me and make sure the children were taken care of while I was there. Tomorrow is my big day!! I’m not nervous or scared, I’m just excited beyond belief!! I can’t wait for tomorrow to come!! (My mom ended up having a heart attack and I flew out to be with her and my family during that difficult time. I called the office to see if I could do my covid test out of state and they said that would be fine. I explained to them the situation and they were so compassionate, caring and accommodating. They said they would check in with me the next day to see how my mom was doing and that if I needed to reschedule, they would do it for me and that it wouldn’t be inconvenient at all. They called the next day and asked about my mom. They said they were all very concerned and that they were glad to hear that she was okay. They were so thoughtful and genuinely concerned for her. Again they said if I needed to spend more time with my family, to just let them know and they would gladly reschedule my appointment. I didn’t end up rescheduling. They are wonderful and so easy to work with, I’m grateful I choose them for my surgery. My mom is recovering wonderfully and is in good spirits and I’m excited for my new body!) Updated on 18 Jan 2021: I was a little bloated on the first set I posted. They were takes at night after I had eaten a big meal. Here are some more before pictures. I hope this helps! I’m getting ready for the surgery now. Today is the day!! Woohoo!! Updated on 18 Jan 2021: The surgery went so well. Dr. Swail went above and beyond! He was excited for me and took his time so that I wouldn’t feel rushed. His nurse was also amazing!! She let me recover at my pace and even though I was there longer than anticipated, she never rushed me to leave. She was kind, patient, helpful, and comforting. Tomorrow I go back for a check in and Wednesday and Friday. The will be doing the cleaning and changing out the steri strips. I have pain, but it is manageable. At first it was about a 7, now I’m at about a 2 with my meds. I’m excited to see my results!! Updated on 19 Jan 2021: Not even 24 hours after surgery was I back at the office for my first checkup. Everything went great. He said he’ll for sure have to do the dog ear revision in a few months. He got 6.2lbs of tissue and a liter of liquified fat from my back. Everyone at the office kept saying how great I’m going to look, and how much he was able to do to make me look amazing. I’m excited for the swelling to go down and see my actual results! The dimples are from where he attached the tissue in place. He said that the stitches will dissolve and the dimples will smooth out. Updated on 22 Jan 2021: I went in today for my third follow up appointment. Can I just say how much I LOVE that they do the dressing changes and how they are constantly checking the incision to make sure it is healing properly? They are always so attentive and kind too! The pain is getting better. I’m not as hunched over, but I still can’t stand up straight. I am hopefully getting my drain out on Tuesday! Woohoo!! They took the back lipo dressings off on Wednesday. My back is tender and bruised from it. I’m still mostly eating soft foods because I haven’t had my first bowel movement and I don’t want it to be too painful. I’m getting up and walking around my house several times a day now. I’m feeling good! I’m so happy that my pouch is gone!! Updated on 23 Jan 2021: I finally had my first bowel movement!! There was pressure, but not much pain at all. I made sure to only eat soft foods though. I’m am still taking the “smooth move” tea they recommended. It is actually delicious! I weighed myself this morning too. I had all the gauze, dressings, and binder on still and I still weighed 7 lbs less than pre-surgery. I coughed last night while I was asleep and it hurt so so bad!! I have been in pain since then and I was trying to start weening myself off the pain meds, so now I’m trying to get back on top of it. Updated on 26 Jan 2021: I had my 8 day post op appointment today. They said everything looks great and great the swelling is going down really well. That was so nice to hear! They removed the drain! They numbed the area before they pulled it out. It wasn’t painful, but it did feel weird, like the pain pump. I am standing up straighter and am now off the oxy and just taking Tylenol. I don’t have much abdominal pain, it is mostly tightness, but my back is still very tender and is bruised from the back lipo. Most of the pain comes from my back and not my stomach, unless my husband makes me laugh. Little punk. I don’t have regular bowel movements, but at least I’m having them! I’m so excited to have my first shower in over a week tomorrow! Hallelujah!! I’ll be able to take my first upright picture tomorrow too!! Woohoo! Stay tuned! Updated on 27 Jan 2021: I couldn’t get comfortable last night. I am still sleeping in the recliner and just couldn’t do it anymore! I tried laying down in bed for the first time. It was painful and uncomfortable no matter what I did. I totally lost it. I decided to take an oxy because it makes me groggy and sleepy. I finally went to sleep at about 2:30am in my recliner. I only slept for about an hour when I woke up in pain. Moving in bed and trying to get comfortable really made my tummy sore. It was a long night. I finally fell back asleep and slept for a few hours. I can’t wait to be able to sleep in my bed again!! How long before you slept comfortably in your beds? Updated on 27 Jan 2021: 9 days later and I finally got to take a shower! Woohoo!! Here are some pictures of me standing. I’m still hunched over a little, but so far I’m loving my results! I’m still very swollen though! Updated on 30 Jan 2021: Yesterday I went and got my belly button stitches removed. It wasn’t painful at all! They checked for fluid build up, there was none, woohoo! They for real have the best staff ever there!! They are so gentle, kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. I feel so comfortable with his nurse. She is amazing!! I’m still very swollen and bruised, but I’m feeling better every day! I have a long recovery road still, but am loving my results so far! Updated on 2 Feb 2021: I went to my appointment today and it went awesome! They took off the steri strips today and my incision looks great!! Only 3 little places that haven’t sealed up completely. I was really nervous about the steri strip removal, but it wasn’t bad at all. My next follow up is in 3 weeks! My stomach doesn’t hurt at all, but my back is still super sore and bruised. So far so good! I’m still sleeping on the recliner, I can’t wait to sleep in bed again! My bowels are starting to be regular too! Woohoo! I’m switching from taking dulcolax to just a tea. I’m not standing straight yet and get tired if I do too much, but I’m feeling good! Updated on 9 Feb 2021: My anchors are finally starting to dissolve, the tightness is starting to loosen up, and my energy is coming back. I have been itching like crazy though and it is making it difficult to sleep. I called and the nurse recommended I take Benedryl during the day and Advil PM for sleeping. I started last night and I actually slept. I slept in bed last night and was comfortable. It was amazing! I got a new girdle, the nurse recommended Naomi and Nicole. It came in today and it feels so good! The back goes all the way up which feels great! I can almost stand up straight, hallelujah! I’m still swelling, but hopefully that will keep going away. Updated on 15 Feb 2021: I’m sleeping okay on my side! Also, yesterday, for the first time I was able to stand up straight!! I feel like I’m finally starting to make real progress! The bruising and swelling is really starting to subside and all but one anchor have dissolved. If I do too much my upper abdomen swells up, so I am going to take it easy the next couple days because I over did it this weekend. Updated on 23 Feb 2021: I went in for my checkup today. Everything is looking amazing!! My body has completely changed. I went through my shirts and dresses and got rid of loads of stuff! My bottoms still fit, they just fit different and better. I can slowly start exercising again in 2 weeks, just nothing targeting the abs and I am supposed to wear my binder. I can wear compression or binder, depending on what I’m doing, until 7-8weeks, depending how I’m feeling and swelling and then I can transition out off of them completely! I have some dog ears, you can see them poking out in the polka dot dress. My dog ear removal appointment is in 6 weeks and I’m beyond excited!! From week 4 to 5 I feel like my mobility, energy and healing has just skyrocketed! My PS and nurse were so great and thorough with me today. I didn’t few rushed and get comfortable asking them any and all questions I had. I’m so grateful I did my research and found them. Boulder Valley Plastic Surgery (Dr. Swail) was the best choice I could have made! I am confident in my body and am not embarrassed anymore! I can’t wait to see my final results! Here are a couple dresses I bought years ago and realized they were large in China size so I thought I would never fit them. These pictures are taken after I’d had some swelling, and I still feel like I look great. I was saving them for my daughter, but not anymore!! These were taken I’ve had several people ask me if I had my boobies done too, the answer is no. I am just well endowed. Hahaha. Updated on 1 Mar 2021: I’m 6 weeks post op and am loving it!! My scar is healing great, I’ve had no complications, I have all feeing back already, I’m slowly starting to do cardio, I’m having regular bowel movements, I have most of my energy back, life is great!! I do get some swelling if I am super active during the day, but that is to be expected. You can see my dog ears in the pictures and I am already scheduled to get them removed in 5 weeks now. I’m so excited to see the final product!! I ordered some new shirts and have to return them because they are all too big. It was a great surprise! I’m so blessed to have been able to do this! Now to work off my back fat!! I had lipo, but it didn’t get it all. Updated on 20 Mar 2021: I took these pictures on the 18th, the day that I got 2 months. I am forever grateful to my PS, his nurse, and the wonderful staff. I feel sexy, confident and comfortable in my body again! I still get a little swollen when I work out or am super active. I am still a little tender in my lower back, from the lipo I’m assuming. I have my energy back too! I still itch right under my scar; but that’s normal. The pictures are of me swollen, I worked out before. That is the worst swelling I get, and I honestly don’t feel like it’s that bad. Having this surgery was the BEST decision I could have made. Updated on 14 Apr 2021: Last week I went in for my dog ear revision. It went well! They took off quite a bit, which was nice! As he was cutting I felt some pain so he numbed me up some more and the rest went smoothly. The recovery has been okay. I am struggling with taking it easy. I’m so excited to see the overall results and am super excited to be done with all the cutting!! Downside is I have to sleep on my back again. Ugh! I have been eating like crazy so I need to get back on track on eating healthy and drinking more water. Updated on 8 May 2021: I had my dog ear revision 4 weeks ago and my shape is looking better and better! I can’t believe how flat I am and how amazing my abs are looking! I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Swail and his team. His nurses are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and always kind and friendly! I love going to my post op just so I can see them because they get genuinely excited to see me and my progress. I have never regretted not one minute having this surgery done. I feel amazing and am loving my new body!! Updated on 23 May 2021: I have a hole at the end of my incision, super lame!! It isn’t infected or anything, so that’s good! I emailed the office and they said as long as it isn’t infected, to keep it taped up. I think I did too much twisting and stretching while on vacation, but I have no clue. I did put on a butterfly bandaid as well. Ugh, I’m so sad, but I’m sure it will close up soon! I am just trying to be extra careful right now. PS, I think the darkness is from the marker used to outline where they were going to cut. Updated on 17 Jan 2022: I can’t believe that it has been almost a year! The hole closed up perfectly, they told me to put tape on it and sure enough, it closed right up. I was doing great, eating healthy, working out, and was looking and feeling fabulous. Then the holidays came and we went on a Christmas vacation. Sadly, I have gained 18lbs. I’m so sad!! But once I got home a couple weeks ago, I started working out and eating better. I’ve lost 7lbs and am hoping to lose the rest in the next month. I am frustrated with my love handles and back fat, but my tummy makes me feel so confident! I went in for a checkup a couple months ago and they told me that I’ve officially graduated! I’m all done, just my one year post op on the 27th of January left! Woot woot! Updated on 1 Feb 2022: It’s been a year since the original tummy tuck, but I’ve had two revisions. I don’t regret it one bit! I have so much more confidence, and I love my new body. The only funny thing is I have what I call “phantom belly.” After I work out I go to clean under my belly pouch so I don’t get an infection or after my shower I go to dry off my under belly, when I realize I don’t have it anymore. Hahaha! It was worth every penny!! The only thing that bothers me are my back rolls. Even with the lipo, they didn’t go away, which is frustrating, but eh. I am working out doing HIIT 4 days a week and cardio 6 days a week. I am determined to rid me of the rolls! I am finding it is much much easier to tone my abs and am loving that, but I also show a lot more when I’m bloated. The scar is fading ever so nicely and I love my belly button! Dr. Swail did an absolutely amazing job and I’ll forever be grateful that after 4 c-sections, I look and feel as confident and beautiful as I do! No more hiding behind my clothes!!
I had a BA 15 years ago by a different doc. Not that I was unhappy it was just time I went to silicon and bigger. I had family who went here so I did as well. It was so far beyond my wants needs and dreams. I was not born with those “round beautiful breast” however now... just was round stunning breast that look like they were always mine. Thank you is not enough. Just wow! Updated on 12 Aug 2020: As requested here is original pictures of natural and after first BA. of course they did change somewhat in 15years. My stats then were 5’3” 135-145lbs. Implant was 360cc saline. 15 years later I was 115lbs replaced with 560cc mod plus silicon.
Dr Swail and his team of nurses and front office staff are amazing! They are patient, kind, knowledgeable and put you at ease the moment you walk into their office. Even with the COVID-19 and all the extra precautions they have taken, I have felt safe and trustworthy being treated there. After Breast feeding two babies, I was left deflated and flat. I knew I would want a breast augmentation after. I was a small C before kids and had full C small D breasts while I was breast feeding. After, I was left with an A cup. My Stats: 36 y/o 5' 2" 112 lbs 13.5 BWD I went with Allergan Natrelle 405cc soft touch moderate profile Updated on 24 May 2020: I can tell they are softening a bit. I know I have a ways to go, but I continue to be please with the progress. No pain, just a pulling sensation if I reach too far or put too much weight on my arms. Neck is sore from sleeping on my back and the strap I wear 24 hours a day. Did anyone else wear the strap across the top of their chest for 6 weeks?
I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was and continues to be. Between breast feeding 2 children and getting older I had lost a lot of volume in my breasts leaving behind elongated nipples. This caused problems on many levels. There painful tearing that would happen at the base of my nipples, the fact that I was highly embarrassed by them, I never wanted them exposed, even for a minute, not to mention it really restricted what I could wear. I came to Dr. Swail in hopes of getting even a tiny bit of help. Well, I definitely came to the right place. From my first call to my last visit I have been treated like a friend, with kindness, compassion and care. I was made to feel comfortable and safe. Dr.Swail took his time answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns. He presented me with a treatment plan and we proceeded. The procedure was a piece of cake (for me at least, lol) and the recovery was easier than I had anticipated. I am over the moon with the results!! I haven't been this pleased with my breasts since before I had children (and I was 20 with my first and am currently 49)!! Besides being an amazing surgeon, Dr. Swail is one of the most personable doctors I have had the pleasure of meeting. I cannot recommend Dr. Swail and his staff enough. If you are unhappy with your nipple length or width and are considering having a reduction, this IS the place to go. If you have questions that you feel better answered by someone who has gone through it, Dr. Swail's office is welcome to get us in contact. Did I mention how happy I am?? )
Working with Dr. Swail and his entire staff was an absolutely outstanding experience. I did a lot of research before choosing which doctor to go to for a breast augmentation and Dr. Swail ticked all of my boxes. He answered all my questions and made me very comfortable with the whole process. The women that work with him are also freaking incredible. His nurses and front of house staff were so reassuring and wonderful to me. I highly Recommend setting up a consult with him.
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Swail and all the staff at his office. My consultation was thorough, he explained everything about the procedure I was interested in (tummy tuck) and suggested liposuction could benefit me as well, for a better overall result. He was kind and straight forward about surgery, recovery times etc. I had the procedure done 5 months later. I had stretched skin that couldn't recover from 3 pregnancies, and it had frustrated me for years to be at a normal weight with the loose skin. Thank you, Dr Swail, my tummy now looks amazing! Every visit to the office was smooth and timely, and the staff are a great balance of kind and professional. I would highly recommend this office.
The answer to what type of liposuction to use is whatever your chosen provider is most comfortable with- the precise instruments used for this procedure are less important than the hands (and head) of the provider wielding them. Recovery time will vary but typically it’s 4-6 days to be back to light everyday activities and 4-6 weeks to get to strenuous activities. You look like a good candidate.
As far as the breasts go you are actually a good candidate for lift alone, augmentation with implants alone, or both procedures together depending on what your aims are. Your surgeon should be able to show you typical preoperative/postoperative photos and explain the pros and cons of each approach. You can certainly benefit from a tummy tuck as well and the “good news” is that the recovery from the tummy tuck can be expected to be tough enough that you hardly notice the recovery from the breast surgery. If you do them both at once it should certainly be less expensive than as two separate procedures. Costs will depend on what exactly you choose to do and on your local market but expect to pay somewhere between 12 and 20 thousand dollars.
It’s definitely possible that your implants have shifted. At less than a month after surgery you should still be wearing a surgical bra and strap pretty much 24/7. Bouncing and working out are no nos. You should go in and have your surgeon look at it.
In answer to your first question- yes, a breast lift should correct the sagging of your breasts and reduce the size of the areolae. This can definitely be combined with augmentation if you want to increase size as well. In answer to your second question, you don’t necessarily need to hold off having consultations but you should probably hold off surgery until after you lose weight. In my opinion the best time to have surgery is at a weight you will be able to maintain rather than starving yourself prior to surgery and then regaining much of the weight afterward though. In answer to your final question, you can have a waist that comes in substantially more than it currently does with a combination of liposuction and tummy tuck. Whether you would consider it “tiny” is a subjective judgement but the improvement should be substantial. You’re a great candidate for surgery.
Sometimes one side will settle more slowly than the other and more often than not it seems to be on the dominant side. In many cases this will settle out over time wearing the band and with a little massage. In some cases there will be the need for a lower pole release. This is usually a straight forward procedure with a much easier recovery than the original surgery.
