I am having my procedure tomorrow at 12:30 PM. I have been preparing just as the surgeon recommends. I take the supplements he prescribed including Glucosamine, Vitamin C, a multi vitamin. I am eating regularly and especially nutritionally, excluding alcohol and including extra water. I have been exercising daily. My husband supports my decision because I have wanted this for 20 years! My kids are not as supportive but I am doing this for myself!

Wow...! Good Luck..! I can see by your body type this is going to come out great, slender and just looking for a little step back to way things use to be. Can not understand at all why your kids aren't saying "Good for You.!!" That's just not right. Must be they have a hangup about something. "Hey kids, this is your Mother, give her all the support that she has given you." So I say it, "Good for You.!!"

Thanks Johnny. I am doing well as you can see from the photos. I am still healing...it is only day four but I believe today I did the right thing for me. I was miserable for 20 years watching that turkey neck get worse and worse. It made me look tired (I don't mind looking my age) and I have lots of life left in me. I listened to my mother as she started aging around age 60; she would always complain about her looks and she was one of the most handsome women around....I know I am slender and healthy and active so the sagging neck was making me sad, depressed. I did this to be happy and give back my happiness to the world and this morning I am smiling because I believe I did the perfect thing for ME. Dr. Hartley and his staff are amazing. I feel so well cared for and so confident they have given me everything I need to heal. The supplements and vitamins and stool softener (sorry to be graphic), the arnica, the loads of reading material on their web page, have been great tools for me. Thank you again for your support. We all feel so guilty about doing this...the money, are we vain. But I am not vain and I am not rich. I will pay off my credit card happily!!!!

Hey Amy: I hope it went well for you today! You are a true beauty even BEFORE surgery, but I also know the need to look "better" even if only in your own eyes or your own mirror. Keep us updated. The early pics usually make you wonder "WHAT WAS I THINKING?" But I have found healing after surgery (not needing —or expecting— to look GOOD for ANYBODY) have been some of the most "freeing days" of my existence. Science and Psychology should look into THAT! Let us know how it goes. We are there for you, here.

I am grateful that on the physician's own site, there were lengthy articles about all of this including the doubt I would feel at this time. That lasted three days and today on day four I no longer doubt what I did. Oh, I am sore, bruised, swollen but I can see what I will be like for Christmas. I really appreciate your support.

When you feel up to it, please let us know how you are doing. You are gorgeous and I'm glad you're doing this for yourself!

I am doing really well. Yesterday I kept thinking maybe I was wrong to do it but now four days out and the swelling is coming down and I can see "me" in there, well, I am on cloud nine this morning. I think this office, the surgeon and his staff are wonderful. I appreciate your support.

Hi! I must say, you already look young and very athletic. I'll bet you'll look fantastic when your all healed up, can't wait to see your after pics. I live 45 minutes away from Boulder and my neck is starting to sag as well. I will follow your journey here and maybe go see this surgeon. Can I ask you how much you paid?
December 5, 2014
Of course you may ask. It will be total approximately $10K. The surgeon was around $7700. Then you pay for the operating room and the anesthesiologist. I am so glad I chose this doctor. I live less than 15 minutes away so that is great. He told me we were just going to refresh my face and I can see this morning that that will be the outcome. I hated my turkey neck. I waited 20 years! I am glad I waited. I don't want to do this more than once. I am not into botox and all kinds of other things. I really believe this morning that I got what I wanted and what a Christmas this will be!

Day Three

Still pretty out of it. Must admit I am worried I made a mistake but thankfully I have read this doubt is normal at this stage. I sure hope I look natural. I am very glad my doctor and his team gave me so much support emotionally as well as in terms of all the supplements that are included in the cost of surgery. I bet I am healthier when this over!

Hi There... Wow.. Thought you pulled out some high school pics on this set.. Awesome..!!

Thanks JohnnyNight. I am in seventh heaven. I waited 20 years and I am so glad I went with Dr. Hartley right here in Boulder, less than 15 minutes from my house. I felt every step of the way I was in good hands. Great staff, perfect attention to detail in the office and in the surgery. I did not handle the anesthesia as well as most ( I barfed when I woke up) and the two nurses stayed by my side till I was ready to go home after surgery. I never felt scared. I was given clear information the whole time. Again, thanks. I will post more as Christmas gets closer. What a present to me, eh?

Day Four Post Surgery

amytremper
Well, today I am getting really excited. I can see what the results will be in the near future. All I "hated" about my looks was my turkey neck and it is gone. I don't care about looking younger. I just don't want to look so tired all the time. I am feeling a real kick joy coming on and it is now the holiday season. I am going to be very careful with this artful work that Dr. Hartley did. I trusted him and I was in good hands. His staff are attentive and full of knowledge. I have high regard for this office, Boulder Plastic Surgery. Yippee!

Looking Real Good..!! U may not necessarily care if you look younger, but that's one of the built in benefits you just can't avoid..:)..!!!

You look fabulous already, can't imagine how good you'll look when you're all healed up! And I can't believe you're 65 yrs old...even the before pic didn't look anywhere near that age but now you've trimmed about 20 yrs off. Happy for you!

Thanks so much. I am 9 days out. I will post new photos next week. I have been diligent in my personal care. I am still pretty much house bound and not quite as strong as I thought I would be at this time but then I re-read my notes and have given myself another 10 days to finish the initial recuperation. Happy Holidays.
