Paralyzed Smile/Sagging Jowls

Not Worth It!

So I have been having TMJ/TMD issues for years w no luck in reducing symptoms. I finally decided to try Botox for TMJ, despite the many warnings from several dentists where I work. I haven't noticed any improvement w my jaw or head pain, but it did flatten the masseter muscles. That's great & all, because they were very large & made my face feel big, but the flattening caused jowls that I never had before! Even worse, the Botox got into (or was incorrectly injected into) the muscles that pull up the corners of my mouth to smile!! It's horrible. I can show my teeth to smith but it resembles a chucky doll smile, not a normal smile that I had before. So yes, it will take some months to improve, but none of these complications were discussed w me prior. BEWARE!
