I’d been to 4 other clinics before Skin Essentials, including a dermatologist’s office looking for answers to my concerns. Each had given me 4 different answers as to what my problem was and what the solution was, but I was not convinced.
I booked an appointment with Dr Joshi because I’d read some articles by her on Mamamia and followed her on Instagram for a while and I liked that she seemed direct, no nonsense and HONEST.
The consultation blew me away and was worth every penny, even if she’d told me that it was too late, or she could not help me. Instead she spent the time addressing my concerns, and telling me why the issues that bothered me, were bothering me.
There was zero upsell, no pressure to have anything done on the day. At one point she actually said to me “I don’t work to your budget because that may leave you unhappy and limit my ability to do a good job. I’ll tell you what I can help with, and how much that will take, and your can decide if you want to proceed or not.” In other places, I had people trying to work within what they thought my budget was, but to be honest, if someone had said “I understand your concerns and can help you improve it, and this is how much it will cost” I’d feel far more comfortable about spending the money, even if it was a lot.
I did proceed with the first of several steps on that first day (anti wrinkle injections) with more planned in the weeks and months to come. Her clinic staff followed up with me via text and email and I felt well supported should there have been a problem or concern.
I feel I’ve placed my face, my skin and my trust in the care of someone who can guide me for years to come, and my job is to keep showing up. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
