My skin is a priority and ive been fortunate to travel the world and experience the best, money can buy. What ive learnt over this time is that "brand names" and posh clinics sell a vision but often fail to deliver quality. Having left my expat life (and my dream doctor 2 years ago) I have spent the last 2 years trying different 'celebrity' doctors before I was accidently introduced to Dr. Joshi on instagram. What immediately struck me about Dr. Joshi's posts is that they were always honest, transparent and unfiltered. It was clear she had a strong work ethic and integrity, that is unfortunately uncommon in the aesthetics industry. So I trusted my gut instinct, booked an appointment and set my sat nav on (as I'd not been to Liverpool in forever). The clinic was easy to find and parking in Westfield Liverpool alleviated the stress to find street parking. The clinic is quite basic. It is small and there are no candles or artisan fashion books or a reception area held by girls with ridiculously inflated faces with perfectly manicured hands. There was however, Dr.Joshi- who immediatley knew my name and had already read my online file. She was kind, honest and had no interest in selling me anything. She took her time to get to know me, my intentions and to manage my expectations. She took my pictures and talked me through my areas of concern and how we would achieve my goals. There was no overpromising or over selling. Actually, there was no selling at all. She was more interested in building trust and developing confidence. After my first appointment, she said she would send me a document with our plan and the associated costs and promised to work within my budget. And she delivered. Within a few hours, I received all the documents detailing everything discussed. After, my first injections she talked me through the side effects and sent messages to check in. I thought that this type of care and service is the 'honeymoon' phase. Again, I was wrong. Ive had a few injections after that and each time, it is the same level of care and attention. Dr. Joshi meticulously documents my journey through pictures that show how slight improvements, make all the difference. And true to her word, each phase has been as she said it would be. We are now in phase 2 of my treatment and my family is so impressed at how subtle yet powerful the change has been that my mother and sister have decided to come along for thier own journey. Its no doubt a costly journey but one that has been well worth it. Before meeting Dr. Joshi I had actually considered flying back to see my dream doctor once every six months, its safe to say, I've now finally found my dream doctor in Sydney. In a money grabbing industry that is built on fake, easy fix , high cost solutions Thank you Dr. Joshi for being a kind, honest and thoughtful person.
Dr Joshi is an amazing doctor. All the treatments she gave me were tailored carefully and personalised. Results so far are effective and subtle, which is exactly what I wanted. Dr Joshi also has outstanding after care and took the time to check up on me after my appointments. I can’t recommend her enough. I feel like I am in competent, experienced, safe hands.
I found Dr Imaan Joshi through Mamma Mia where she writes expert articles. I like to carefully choose cosmetic professionals who will be performing procedures on my face and know that I’m in good hands. Dr Imaan Joshi not only has extensive knowledge but is also so straight forward and open that I trusted her immediately after our initial consultation. She asked me what I wanted to achieve and then told me what is the best way of doing it. Even though it wasn’t what I expected, she explained her recommendation in detail so that it was clear and logical. Answered all the questions until there was no doubt in my mind. I went to a doctor once that gave me a chart of everything that “was wrong” with my face. It was overwhelming. I didn’t know there was so much to fix. Dr Joshi didn’t do it to me. She listened to what I wanted, what was bugging me and she told me what needs to be done to make it better. No “hey, you should really try those collagen threads as well because 30’ are no joke love”. She took care of me and my insecurity with care and attention, without rushing, with follow ups and assurance that shall anything go wrong she’ll be there for me to fix it too. I’m happy with the result of my treatment and I feel very safe in Dr Joshi’s expert hands and will recommend her to anyone who’s asking!
Experienced, professional and no BS. I’d been to 4 other clinics before Skin Essentials, including a dermatologist’s office looking for answers to my concerns. Each had given me 4 different answers as to what my problem was and what the solution was, but I was not convinced. I booked an appointment with Dr Joshi because I’d read some articles by her on Mamamia and followed her on Instagram for a while and I liked that she seemed direct, no nonsense and HONEST. The consultation blew me away and was worth every penny, even if she’d told me that it was too late, or she could not help me. Instead she spent the time addressing my concerns, and telling me why the issues that bothered me, were bothering me. There was zero upsell, no pressure to have anything done on the day. At one point she actually said to me “I don’t work to your budget because that may leave you unhappy and limit my ability to do a good job. I’ll tell you what I can help with, and how much that will take, and your can decide if you want to proceed or not.” In other places, I had people trying to work within what they thought my budget was, but to be honest, if someone had said “I understand your concerns and can help you improve it, and this is how much it will cost” I’d feel far more comfortable about spending the money, even if it was a lot. I did proceed with the first of several steps on that first day (anti wrinkle injections) with more planned in the weeks and months to come. Her clinic staff followed up with me via text and email and I felt well supported should there have been a problem or concern. I feel I’ve placed my face, my skin and my trust in the care of someone who can guide me for years to come, and my job is to keep showing up. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
Dr Joshi is honest, reliable and most of all highly trained and skilled. She has expertise as a doctor and has surgical training as well as her skin training, hence I wouldn’t trust anyone else. Her bedside manner is honest, warm and personable. She is worth every cent.
I came across Dr Joshi when I was looking for a clinic to help me look like a refreshed, slightly younger version of myself. As someone turning 50, I also wanted to have a plan for how to age well, moving forward. As a woman who had never really spent money on her skincare or makeup, I was looking for a medical professional who I could have confidence in because I was a little freaked at the thought of someone doing anything to my face.Dr Joshi has only ever been patient and informative with me, she never pushes me, and developed a treatment plan that was clear and based on addressing my concerns and took into account the budget I might want to invest. Together, we have made some little changes that make me feel much happier with what I see in the mirror now.I also wanted to go a clinic that I knew prioritised evidence based products and procedures, which Dr Joshi does. I also like that she doesn't try and upsell, her manner is friendly, and it's clear she genuinely cares for her patients. She is a gem and I could not recommend her more.
Dr Joshi is everything you want in a doctor - kind, caring and super professional, as well as being a lovely person. She took the time to understand me, my lifestyle and concerns, and to discuss treatment options to help achieve the results I'm looking for. She knows her stuff inside out and back-to-front and this comes through in her relationships with her clients - it's not a hard sell, short term goal, it's about creating long-term relationships and a management plan to deliver results. The follow-up communication and care from the Skin Essentials team has also been fantastic. I'll be a client for life!
After having several procedures done by dr Joshi I will never go anywhere else. Her level of expertise is amazing & being a doctor her knowledge is extensive. So many things can go wrong if you don’t have someone who knows what’s under your skin. Serious damage can be done. With Dr Joshi your safe & leave feeling refreshed. I can’t recommend her enough.
I have been seeing Dr Imaan for 4 years and have had various treatments including fillers, Botox for TML, skin boosters, skin needling and many more. Dr Imaan is very honest and has always made me feel very comfortable, by starting procedures gradually and stopping me when it's enough! She is extremely ethical in her work, genuinely passionate and cares about all her clients. I highly recommend her as she delivers results and does what is right for you!
I’ve now been going to Dr Joshis clinic for 2 years for chemical peels. The atmosphere of the clinic was open and welcoming. The staff were quite well mannered and Dr Joshi answered all my questions. Dr Joshi and her staff made my experiences as enjoyable as they could.
There is so much that goes into assessment of eyebags and their causes, it is impossible to say without a comprehensive consultation, assessment in person to determine eligibility. In short in the right person, yes RF based treatment can help, but for the right cause and face and the right treatment, which is best assessed in person. I’d suggest finding yourself a trusted doctor that you feel comfortable with to do this assessment for you and to guide you towards what is best for you.
It is hard to answer based on the photos provided but it may be that you have some prominence around the mouth because of a lack of balance in your lower face compared to the upper face. It is possible buccal fat removal may have made this more apparent as I agree, 21 is too young for age related sagging. I’d suggest returning to your doctor for ideas or finding someone who feel has your best interest at heart that you can trust to help you assess and come up with a treatment plan to help you achieve better balance.
Around 40, our mid face begins to sag due to volume loss and the resultant tissue ie skin begins to pool around the lower face. Depending on our genetics, degree of sun exposure, and weight fluctuations, this skin may pool around the mouth, around the lower face and jawline. It’s hard to tell on photos but you have some sagging under the chin also possibly. I’m not sure what you mean by invasive and if you’ve not had anything to date but I’d suggest beginning with a comprehensive consultation with a doctor who can do more than just botox and fillers to get an idea of what options are open to you, over what timeframe and cost so you can decide including non invasive and minimally invasive such as Facetite as well as RF microneedling. As I say to patients, with age the longer we leave it, the harder it is to rectify and the more invasive the fix needed. All the best.
The hyaluronidase works for 6-8 hours and studies have shown it is no longer in the system after this time. In saying that, the bruising and swelling that may invariably occur with dissolving, especially sensitive areas such as lips, may mean that it will take days if not weeks for your lips to settle to their pre-filler size and shape and to give you the best chances of having a good outcome when ready to refill. My advice tends to be to wait around 2 weeks and not to be in a hurry as residual swelling in the lips may distort anatomy, however slightly, and may lead to potential complications and problems when refilling. Lastly, find a trusted qualified injector and stick to them through the process instead of going from injector to injector who may not know exactly what was done, when and with what product.
You’re right that does look like chronic damage due to sun exposure. Chronically sun exposed areas are also at risk of skin cancers so before any treatment is undertaken I’d suggest a doctor who can address all your concerns: - your medical history inclg sun habits - a skin check to exclude any skin cancers - a treatment plan to treat based on your skin type and what the findings are eg pigmentation, vascularity or both. IPL may be suited to some skin types but not all so a comprehensive consultation with a trusted doctor is a good place to begin.
