Provider Review
Dr. Spiegel is phenomenal. From the first time I sat down with him and all my follow-up visits, he's been nothing but kind, gracious, and just lovely to be around (he even gave me some pointers on how to manage people when I got promoted to management in my job!). ... I went to him for FFS, which is Facial Feminization Surgery. My facial features weren't too masculine, but there were features that I wanted to soften. I wanted to still look like me (because some surgeons can make you look like someone else entirely), just a more feminine version of me. Dr. Spiegel spent the time explaining what he could do and what he thought I should do. ... My surgery date was scheduled relatively quickly after my initial consultation and surgery went well. Recovery was decent, and I was able to start meeting clients after a month or so without any issues. ... I have to say that this surgery was life-changing. Looking in the mirror used to be an unpleasant experience-actually, no, it was painful. I hated the way I looked and felt like an ogre. But since the surgery, and now almost two years later, I have no problem looking in the mirror. I feel more confident and attractive; so much so that I get hit on quite a bit more! I used to wonder constantly, "Do they know I'm trans?" Now, I don't think about it at all. ... The other lovely bit about going to Dr. Spiegel is everyone he employs. They are always so friendly and kind. But, Carole takes the cake. She's super friendly, and she always asks about my mother (Carole met her only twice, but she still asks, which I adore). ... Look, I get it. Giving your face-the thing you use the most to interact with the world-to someone else to carve up and change and modify is SUPER scary. But I never once felt like Dr. Spiegel didn't have a clue. He is a talented and skilled surgeon, and I would most definitely put my face back in his hands. Thankfully, I don't have to, though!
