I am hoping someone can help me!
I had my 1st rhinoplasty surgery 20 years ago (pic attached) to remove adenoids. During this procedure a pinch was placed on my right nostril. I had a 2 week healing process after which my breathing was back to normal (pic attached). My second revision (now 20 years later) was done approximately a year ago. The passages looked open and clear but the breathing was shallow, meaning the sensation of air flow into my nose felt weak and non apparent. I had extensive scarring and also incurred an abscess 4 month post surgery. My surgeon had cleared the abscess. My breathing continued to remain shallow. I brought my issues to my surgeon and a rhinoplasty revision (3rd revision, pic attached) was performed to improve my breathing, however it was under the understanding that there would be no compromise to the look of my nose. Unfortunately my nose was compromised, and whatever was done to improve the breathing actually did not help at all. I am now 55 days post surgery and I am is still suffering from a shallow breathing sensation. Are there any experienced surgeons out there that can tell me if I am still in the healing process? I still can not sense the air going into my nose! I am very worried that my breathing has been compromised and need some answers. Any advice would truly be appreciated as I am suffering everyday. I am currently looking for a surgeon that can address my issues.

You should post your questions under q and a so that the surgeons can answer. Good luck.

Sorry... someone was writing this out for me because I can't breathe properly and feel like passing out all the time!
What they were supposed to type is I saw and ENT for a possible adenoid and he convinced me to get Rhinoplasty 20 years ago.
due to the fact that he gave me a "pinch" on the right side, I decided to update my nose with a plastic surgeon last year.
It compromised my breathing due to tissue scarring and when he went in 55 days ago, to address the scarring he cosmetically changed the nose again, and lifted it, removed, what appears to be additional cartiliage on my nose and I have compromised breathing, I may even have a nasal valve collapse... the pinch was replaced with a graft doesn't "appear" to want to stay fully up.. it is "lazy" and there appears to be an internal depression on the inside.. can this be fixed? I don't want to live with compromised breathing... and none of this was explained to me going in.
I should have researched my options better.... but there must be technology that can fix this...

The doctor who performed the surgery.. "claims" that he has never heard of compromised breathing SENSATIONS.... that I am the only one who has every complained about something like this...I had back to back surgery, 12 months after the fact...
Will an Air flow study.... accurately access breathing sensations? I don't feel comfortable with my doctor's skill sets at all..

Thanks for starting your story here on RealSelf. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with breathing properly. I would contact two to three board certified plastic surgeons about this and schedule consultations. Physical exams are the only real way for a surgeon to know what is going on in your particular case.

I hope you'll use this space to keep us posted on your journey. And I hope you're able to get this revised so you can breathe deeply again.
