PicoSure Tattoo Removal Process - Updating with Each Session
I'm writing this review because I really wanted to see, from one session to the next, what the tattoo removal process looked like, and it was hard to find pics online that showed the succession. I got another tattoo in June 2015. I sat for 2 hours and my body was in shock during and after, so I wasn't really able to grasp what was happening in the moment, but the artist took some some creative liberties and the actual tattoo was NOT like the drawing. As soon as the shock wore off and I could really assess the work, I was unhappy and knew I wanted it gone. The top half of the tattoo was done in the style that I wanted, the bottom half turned "cartoony" and I didn't like it.
I booked my first removal appointment at Tataway of Boston on October 3rd. The women who own/run the place took excellent care of me, gave me all my options, and told me what to expect from the treatment and what I could do to maximize my results. I'm not a smoker, I'm relatively active, I drink tons of water, eat healthy, and I'm really into yoga. The first session was surprising in that the actual laser process didn't hurt as badly as I had anticipated. They gave me an ice pack to numb the area before treatment (my right side, directly above my hip bone).
AFTER the treatment, though, when the numbing effect of the ice pack started to wear off, it felt like someone had lit the side of my body on fire. It hurts. It hurts like hell. Worse than getting the tattoo, in my opinion. I took a few tylenol to dull the pain and it eased up over the course of the day. It blistered, but not badly. Then a week later it started peeling.
The whole process kinda freaked me out because I didn't know EXACTLY what to expect my first time around, but the girls at Tataway kept an eye on my healing process via texts and pics, and assured me that this was normal and everything was going smoothly. I maintained the healthiest lifestyle I could during the healing process, since they told me that your body and your immune system are the biggest factor in the removal process, and I really want this thing gone so I can get a cover-up that finally makes me happy.
When I went back for my second treatment, they told me that my results were awesome the first time around. The second treatment hurt worse than the first (I didn't ice the area as long) and it hurt like hell afterwards (just like the first time), but it barely blistered with the 2nd treatment. I'll post more pics and reviews as the process goes on.
Thus far, I'm happy with the results.
Welcome to the community, I am so glad that you joined and decided to share your journey. It looks like you're only treating the bottom part, are you planning on fading to fix the tattoo?
